Shaq didn't ride any one. When Shaq went to the Lakers ,that saved that team and made them a Championship team. Same in Miami. Maybe not in Miami. Shaq in his prime was un stopable. He would score 30 points a game ,and in the play offs as well. I remember 3! players trying to stop him...and they could not.

I loved that moment at 5:46 , Chuck asking for the bickering to stop for a second so he can say something , Shaq agrees to stop talking back thinking that Chuck is going to make some sort of point, but the first thing that actually comes out of Chucks mouth is the "Petty White" insult and Shaq gets right back to arguing. Subtle moments like that are why this show is so great

He also wants to act like he never had a bad game. Mutombo was also way past his prime while shaq was at his prime. When saying something, context matters. As great as he was, he had moments that he struggled against good defensive players. For example, Dennis Rodman.

When they were arguing about Jimmy Butler scoring 40 on Marcus Smart, Shaq was being so obnoxious, not letting Charles get in a word. He's gotten better overall, but times like these are when he's still insufferable. He didn't understand Chuck's point. It's harder to score on a DPOY. You probably do have to put in more work, and there's a higher chance you can't get 40. What's so hard about understanding that? Chuck never explicitly said Jimmy can't get 40, just that it was harder to do it against the DPOY...

I honestly get annoyed with Shaq on this show, he loves taking jabs at Chuck, about not winning a title, and in this argument, Chuck was absolutely right. Marcus Smart would absolutely make it more difficult for Jimmy Butler to score 40 points, if he is the primary defender. Shaq needs to understand, he was so dominate, because of his sheer size and strength. I've had this conversation many times with my friends. Ewing, Hakeem, Robinson, Kareem, all had a better skill set, Shaq could just basically play bully ball and dunk on you. Pound for pound Barkley as a player, was much better offensively, than Shaq.

i agree with you....the thing with Shaq is that he was just so big, strong and mobile for his size that he never had to pay attention to the nuances of the game the way other players have to...so, all he can see is "I won, I was right...cut it out...Google me...you never got to my level...I have XYZ classification"...used to get annoying but now pretty much no one takes him seriously when he gets like this :)

I agree too, Shaq was one of the best and dominated and made everything look easy. But his ego always gets in the way every time he argues something. He always uses all his accolades to win the argument because he pretty much thinks that's all he needs to say. He barely listens thoughtfully to what the others are saying especially Chuck. Chuck always has a real good argument with how secure he is with himself.

100% agree with Chuck and Kenny. And its clear to anyone that a great defender and great defensive team have effects on opposing players. Boston took the games best scoror out. Jimmy is crafty, draws fouls and picks his spots. Hes been awesome offensively but Smart being out has an effect. Shaq had bad games against great defenders too. He struggled (comparatively to what he did against other big men) when playing Hakim, Tyson Chandler and Ben Wallace.... who was like 6 inches shorter too. Coincidentally, all three guys were either Defensive Player or defensive team players. Superstar offensive players arent unfallable. Theres been guys who have constantly made a living off of making it uncomfortable for the star to work. Doesnt mean they all stopped the stars, but it does mean they made it harder which makes it harder to perform on defense, missing shots can carry over, and even if Marcus Smart made Jimmy miss 1 or 2 shots he wouldnt have made Smart being on the floor isnt just to stop Jimmy. Its to stop that player so the rest of the team can guard everyone else. Hes also there to achor the defense, lead guys into Rob, switch onto anyone, he guards big men on switches too and he gets steals, flops *cough* charges ;p and does so much for team defense.

Agreed. Chuck didn’t even say Jimmy wouldn’t get 40, just a lot more work, which is true.

Shaq is wrong… Charles was right, it would have been harder for Jimmy Butler to score 40 with an elite defender like Smart on him.

Shaq had the advantage of size and strength over the Dikembe while Jimmy Butler doesn't have that advantage. Shaq's takes are so limited. Can be summarised by "Superstar and the others" and " We/I did it this way so everyone should be able to".
