Anakin was already redeemed through dying to save Luke, so the only possible redemption he could get is in the eyes of Ahsoka. To be her master in memory instead of the fallen monster Darth Vader. Whether or not this will apply to Sabine as well isn't clear, especially from the writing quality we've seen so far.

Anything to see Ahsoka undergo some kind of transformation. 4 episodes of this current portrayal is 4 episodes too many!

Interesting video. I admit I haven't seen clone wars or rebels, so don't know much about Asoca, but find the Jedi morality discussions fascinating. My problem at this point, is that I just find it hard to get behind the idea of any female character succeeding where previous male characters failed! We've seen it with Rey, with seen it with Teela in Heman, we've seen it with Doctor who, we've seen it with all of marvel, we've seen it with the new predator film, We've seen it with pretty much every Disney remake turning the princess character into an unstoppable girlboss, and lets not get into the horror of the Barbie movie. Previous to this insane intersectional feminist era, yes, a female character could succeed where male characters had failed before, because there were also cases where male characters succeeded, and even a few where female characters failed (though these were rarer). Also the supporting cast around those successful female characters wasn't made up of males who are either evil, incompetent or doormats, and female characters who spend their time talking about how wonderful, both they, and the principle girlboss are! However, at this point in time, the idea of presenting a female character as a beacon of morality who is able to retain balance between emotion and attachment just sounds like more propaganda to me. Obviously, there are good, well written female characters out there with decent arcs, and roads of trials, Asoca, in her previous iterations might indeed be one (though a couple of reviews I've seen of the recent live action series weren't too positive about the character), however at this point in time, the balance has tilted so far the wrong way it would take a hell of a lot of pretty stellar writing to get me invested in any female characters' journey in a major film universe. If I want to explore the stories of great female, or indeed male characters these days, I look to literature, mostly to literature published pre-2017 and the woke era.

Ahsoka at least isn’t as obnoxious as say Rey or Galadriel, but she’s so uncompelling with her ‘stoicism’ it’s almost impressive. I do think there would have been differences to her character, had this shown been made pre-2017. Ahsoka had more endearing qualities in The Clone Wars and Rebels, but for this show they’ve stripped her of much of that and called it ‘maturity.’ So, if you haven’t seen the animated series, I’d very much understand being totally uninvested towards the character. For now, I’m giving Filoni some leniency that perhaps there’s a story he’s been working on for some time that he’ll bring us, it seems the next episode will be a huge hint either way. I’ll definitely be covering the strong female character stuff in a future video(s). Been taking notes on all that ever since my first video, haven’t got round to putting a vid out there yet though, but certainly have a lot to say. If people can start exploring great literature, that’ll at least be a nice silver lining to all the mess Hollywood are churning out lately!

@@lowtemperaturehands My lady and I actually read far more than we watch films or tv. The difference is, prior to this era we'd break off reading to check out things that looked interesting, or adaptations of stuff we'd read, (my lady's thoughts on the Wheel of time Amazon series are not repeatable in polite company). These days though, I just find I can't be bothered to even take the time. my lady and I both love the original Starwars trilogy which we've watched numerous times. I've read several EU novels (including the thrawn trilogy) and the film novlizations, and watched the 2003 animated clone wars. The sequel trilogy however was the end as far as starwars went for us, and there would as I said, need to be some pretty amazing writing to persuade myself, and even more so my lady (who is a major Luke Skywalker fan), to bother picking things up again, and yet another all powerful female character certainly isn't the way. I've recently been reading lois macmaster bujold's vorkosigan series, which has space opera with amazingly complex character journeys set against a really fascinating, evolving galaxy, light years more complex, uplifting and absorbing than anything I've heard of recently from Hollywood! I would be prepared to be persuaded, which is indeed why I check out reviews. I did watch house of the dragon on Dvd for example, but as I said, when the bar has fallen so low, it's going to take quite the effort to raise it again.

Anakin having a cure like a magic that can purge darkside is kinda magic like and not very Star Wars like. If people can be purged of dark side without wanting it themselves it removes their free will. I much prefer Luke pleading with his father to embrace the light side and Dart Vader doing it to save his son. And Anakin already balanced the force. He killed all the sith and all the jedi and left two force sensitive people left who are both balanced.

Certainly, good point about the free will, people should always be able to decide. I imagined it as Ahsoka being more of a light in the darkness to shine the way home than a magic cure, perhaps I could have specified better there!
