Will definitely be doing a vid about driving it, have some plans around the engine so will roll that into a before and after. A couple of small issues to fix in the meantime before i can really enjoy it on the road.

@@TheBuildRoom I’m sure that most of the Celicas over here in the UK will be in similar state to the Roadkill Rescue one you stripped! I’ve wanted an early Celica forever, they’re becoming more and more out of reach over here, so I’m jealous, but also glad that there’s people like yourself still keeping some on the road. 👍

I'll be using whatever pits you used when my cars time comes. 😂😂

Awesome work Cam! I'm glad another Celica is on the road in WA. Are you going to be daily driving it? You'll need an AC for it soon haha. If you need help with anything I met you a Toyotas in the Park, I was next to you with the black 23. Happy to give you some pointers if you going to do an air conditioning install.

Nah won't daily it - i work in the city so probably not great for peak hour commuting, but it definitely needs A/C - have all the parts in a box ready to go so that will definitely be in an episode at some point. Was good to meet you at TITP, even if I was a bit of a zombie. Will reach out if i have any issues but all my parts are stock so hopefully nothing too crazy required. Thanks.

I did the peak hour traffic in mine, never had any overheating issues but was just a pain sitting there haha. I'd spend the money and get new hoses made up, I tried using old stuff myself and it just never worked out. I know a great bloke that does all my AC stuff, looks after his customers

Well done Cam, brought back memories seeing the “wooden” gear knob and matching trim. Please paint it before it starts rusting before our eyes!

I remember a light-up info center under the radio. The front brake light was always on. You could take out the light bulb and make it go out. does any of your Celica's have the info center?

Yeah the old "OK Monitor" setups were pretty cool but didn't come in Australian cars - i think only GT and GTV spec got them and they are unicorn poo here - none of my cars have them although i do have a friend with a GTV that does and an LT that he retrofitted some he sourced to also.

“I’ve exercised the demons” 🤣😂 been there a few times😂 Where about’s in Aussie are u mate ?cos There’s a fair amount of metal worm in ya motors so I’m assuming you’re S/E Auss ? Plus it’s bloody nice t watch a motor channel with the wheel on the right side of the car 😂 Surely there must be some sun baked Celica’s in Auss without the dreaded metal worm that u can lay ya hands on, or are they just silly money motors ? Anywho I’m now greener than a summer pasture after seeing what was one of the best motors I’ve ever owned in my 55 years, u lucky sod 😂 ✌️❤️&🍀 from England 👍

Hi Mark, I'm in Western Australia - these things had rust installed from factory i believe - even in the dryer areas they still go pear shaped especially after 45 years. This one is better than most - although the spares I've bought for it were disappointing for sure. Definitely worth the effort to keep these things on the road. Cheers for the watching!

@@TheBuildRoom ah W Aussie👍 my late Nan lived in Perth for 15 years and the only thing she couldn’t get used too was Xmas dinner on the beach 😂 Mine was stood on blocks for a few years in a warehouse so didn’t have so much tin worm. I really miss that motor 😞 but nice too see ya keeping the ol girl roadworthy mate 👍✌️

That’s interesting how strict they are with what can be licensed! I’m glad they don’t do that here in the states because non of my stuff would be legal then😆

That's nothing!, In germany you cannot have anything that is not period correct. I.E. you cannot have stickers with web pages or emails!. Anyway, in a few weeks I am taking my project celica to get approved so I can register her as Old Timer. Wish me luck. Cheers!
