The 1st 0:45, and likely a bit more, featured discussion on the then-upcoming Oilers-Canucks 2024 playoff series. I wouldn't sleep on the Canucks as much as I give a slight advantage to the Oilers. The Panthers got way more calendar days Eastern Time off between their defeat of the Bolts in a 5-game series and the 1st game of the Bruins-Panthers series. A Bruins' team that under 48 hours before had beaten the Leafs in game 7 of that series just under 2:00 into the 1st OT period didn't show any signs of rust, blowing the Panthers out (5-1). I dunno if the Bruins can keep up that pace but definitely a word of caution for an Oilers' team that will, by the time it's hit the ice under an hour from now, have had about the same # of days off as those Panthers did.

Domi is from Toronto and everyone saying he played awesome ...play hard people are happy with your play easy enough if marner and tavares played there asses off noone would be mad at them

The core 4 players aren't the main problem, the main problem is that you gave them all superstar money... when only one of them is a true superstar. Matthews should be your only player on double digit money, and the Tavares contract should have been no more than 5 years. Just for comparison... Cale Makar is a $9 million cap hit.

Problem is that they look at the comparable players on their team and around the league. If ranatanen was at 9 they weren’t going to go mush higher . Toronto made the mistake of signing JT at 11. At that point Am34 was like yea im better than him pay me more and marner was like yeah I play with him pay me The same. Ultimately dubas and shanahan are responsible because they buckled. Dubas is off to ruin another franchise now and shanahan should be let got for his part in it. It does not work we’re 1/8 for playoff rounds.

​@@bradsandel9050That's why the Shanahan should have left Lou Lamoriello in place to negotiate the deals. Matthews probably was better than JT, but he was 21 years old and coming off an ELC and going into RFA status. Lou would have straight up told him you're getting $8M for 5 years and not budged. And then he would have given Marner $7.25M for 4 years and not budged. But Shanahan let Dubas do the deals, and let the players, RFAs, end up setting up their own internal pay hierarchy.

Matthews? Why? What has he accomplished in Toronto? Nothing! When the chips are down he is a no show guy. On the other hand Nylander proved to be the only core four player, that is able to elevate his game in the Play offs. So as far as I am concerned, he is the only guy, that deserves the big money here. Matthews is a regular season player, but when the Play offs start he disappears.

They don't give criticism, they absolutely dunk on the players. And one bad game is enough for them to absolutely switch things up and start talking about how they need to be traded. A few players have talked about the Toronto media, but sure, they are not the problem at all

Everyone should want to play in Toronto. Fans will fork over MILLIONS and millions again next year for tickets, jerseys, awful merch in general, despite never having anything to celebrate this team for literally generations. It is wild that Toronto fans will just lap this up over and over and over again. They lose big and the fans clamour to spend more 😂😂. Winning is literally irrelevant in this town. I am not delusional Toronto native like you. You don't even use your brain when listening. Marner said that you Maple Leaf fans TREAT hockey players like gods or demons depending on the moment. No wonder Toronto sucks so bad since 1967. Who in their right mind would ever want to play for bunch of fans like you. Thank god I cheer for another Original Six club.
