    Thanks for this. I was looking for a lighter weight plate to throw in front of my 3a balcs panels for 308 protection and also to stop green tip. Looks like this is the winning combo for me then.

    Which would you recommend, these M210's, or the shotstop level IV+HA

  • @BuffRANGE

    @BuffRANGE

    Жыл бұрын

    If you need to stop AP threats, a Level IV indeed. I Do not recommend that IV-HA plate, simply because I haven't tested it, and it's only so light because of the foam ring. The M210's weakness would be .308

    @@tomcollins2679 nope. LTC is slightly better when it comes to build quality and safety margins. LTC build their plates slightly thicker, which is also why you don't see the same NIJ fails like Hesco does.

    Try some 00 Buckshot. These plates seem good at stopping any given round only once (unlike AR500 steel), and if your armed using a Saiga 12 Gauge then you should be able to throw 100's of balls in the same region of the plate, within seconds.

    These plates are demonstrating the ability to stop multiple rounds in the same area, well past their rated round count. Buckshot is a weak threat for modern armor as it'll be caught by the soft backer every time. I think your imagining combat differently to how combat actually occurs. The ability to stop a couple of rounds without throwing shrapnel into the wearers head is far more relevant than durability to endless shots.
