I worked at a local junk yard and one day an 85 cutlass came in, I told the guy who owned that yard I wasn't going to let him crush it. Now I own it, it's about 1/3 of the way through a frame off resto-mod with a 350 chev and 700r4. It had seen some action with 0ver 300k miles but imma make her great again.

Yea i came across a 85 buicke regal T type with T Tops only had 42,301 miles on it and even still had the factory bill sheet to it. It was covered with tree sap and weeds. Only surface rust. I damn near tore a hole in my pockets to give her what she wanted.

I've never had any luck with those 231ci V6 engines. Both my Regals had that and they both blew. Watching all that crap blow out the exhaust was amazing. I was absolutely shocked when it started. I said no way it was. That was a fast "will it run" video. Lol. Awesome.

Was originally born with wire wheels. Mine had no rear defogger. Manual windows and locks but had air conditioning and cruise. Was garage kept majority of its life and bought it with 60k miles of my uncles ex father in law. Miss that car. Should've kept it. Guy I sold it to wrecked it and put junkyard parts on it.

Really wish GM would have given the G-Bodies a better engine option, yeah the 305/307 were decent but a factory 350 would have made these a blast to drive, I had a 76 L48 from a wrecked Vette in my old 86 Cutlass and that car was fun, night and day different even though the power ratings weren't massively different the 350 definitely pulled harder.

Those early 3.8 carbureted v6 engines were terrible. Because it's a Buick derived engine they suffered from oil problems and if the timing cover was wore out it was very common for them to not reprime the oil pump after an oil change or after sitting for long periods of time, as a result spun bearings are very common and I have seen many with rods thrown through the block. That olds V8 should work nicely as a replacement.

@@FranklinsteinsGarage For paint, find the Oldsmobile Gold (60's and early 70's). For installation, you will need to find the frame mounts from a 1978-1987 Cutlass that had an Oldsmobile 307. Then, lengthen and shorten wires to the accessories. Last, then you will need to update the front suspension coil springs and radiator. Good luck on that project.

Do me a favor and check the interior back quarter panel on the driver side and tell me if there is a "D" carved into it. My high school girlfriend Danielle carved it in there when were in the backseat "Talking". Even if its not mine I would love to buy her from you... how much ?

As others have said, that is a 1983 and newer model. 1982 had a different steering wheel and different tail lights. The easiest way to determine what year it actually is is to look at the VIN number’s 10th digit. If it’s a C then it’s a 1982, a D it’s a 1983, E is 1984. If you post to VIN less the last six digits, I can decode it and tell you what it is.

@@FranklinsteinsGarage Post the VIN, leaving out the last six digits. Also, post the details of the cowl tag which is a metal tag attached to the cowl by the wipers on the left hand side and can be seen when the hood is up. It will give other details about the car too. I'll tell you what you have. It's either US made (first VIN digit is a 1) or Canadian made (first VIN digit is a 2).

Was gas left in that car for years? I heard "16 year old gas". I have a 1987 Regal that hasn't moved in 4 years with 4 year old gas in it. Does it have hope to start like this did? Doesn't 1990's gas age better for cars with carburetors since it doesnt have all the synthetics todays gas has? (gas from 4 years ago?)
