@@kricke243 yes but it does sound a bit cold and kind of trebley at the same time. to be honest it gets hacked to load irs and that is cool. however the mustang micro has advantages...it can output the whole sound to rec with so that means the backing track as well. it sounds kind of better even in hi gain and it doesn't require an app. loke ever. it also has better time effects. and a better headphone amp section with a master volume. I bought this thing during my sophomore year of guitar. And I can tell you that it's a beast. Highly recommend
This is my favorite Ola video. I return to this sometimes because the video is so cool 😂😂❤
Thanks for this video. Buying this right now
These things are actually great. I used to have the AC30 one in high school. I’d plug it into the keyboard speaker in our music room and it just sounded like I was playing out of an actual AC30. I recently got the bass one for my wife’s bass and that also sounds very good.
I had an older version couple years ago and for the price it was totally fine, can totally recommend it for traveling 👌🏻
Just bought one rn! Comes tomorrow! I can't wait!
Sounds incredible.
I used an amplug metal to record my first ever tracks. Straight into the microphone input with style. I loved it and it treated me well.
i love my bass one, theyre very convenient when you dont have the time or space to pull out a whole setup to practice. I used to hook mine up to a mini bluetooth speaker when i went busking and while it obviously wasnt amazing by any means, back then, it got the job done and had me fed many days where I was really struggling for cash
sick just what ive been looking for thanks Ola for the review 🤘
I have one of these and it ROCKS!
This lil thing was my first amp and i still have it in case of traveling with my guitar. Great video man!
This thing is a beast… one of the things I use the most when I practice because it’s super convenient
Freaking Ola sold me one of this. Best thing if you just want focus on playing and not tweaking knob and getting sideways.
These videos are a scream. Just ordered one of these. Picked up a MXR Fullbore Metal 2 weeks ago. Keep em’ coming.
Got one of their first run, 10+y ago, it was awesome! I could practice between classes without bothering anyone, just bring your guitar, have a pair of earphones and that little chug-plug in your guitare case and you're good to go! Also works when you want to warm up before a gig or record something on the go (can be plugged in you phone directly) And the best part is, for a money-less student/musician it's quite cheap!
Bang for buck, this is one of the most useful things you can buy as a guitarist. I never practiced more than the 2 years I had one, unfortunately I lost it but plan to buy a new one soon.
Yes it chugs. I own one and it blew my ears out . Love this little thing
Ola's amazement from the tone makes the video.
green, orange, and red (side) are levels of mid scoop -low -mid - high with 3 effects (top) -chorus -delay -reverb
This little amp is a true chuggernaut!
I just bought one of these and plugged it in and straight off the bat I was blown away, I thought you might have cheated in this video but no thats the sound I got straight away. One chug and I was instantly transferred to Shea Stadium 1965 and getting that classic Beatles Vox tone we all love!!!
Dude. Epic video. Totally subscribed.
I watched this video when it came out. Priced and shopped around for one with them sold everywhere. Went to buy one this evening to find them basically sold out everywhere. What Ola says goes baha! Luckily I was able to buy one! Can't wait to get chugging!
The other thing that's great is that it's made in Japan and not China. Surprising quality in such a cheap piece of gear.
I requested this years ago, so cool to see it happen :) thanks Ola

I have one of these too, I love it! Sometimes I bring it to guitar stores with headphones, good way to check out guitars.
Man, I didn't expect it either!! So good!! Well done in trying this!
I tried the VOX METAL from my friend back in 2009 I think it's the old version and it chugs and sounds great! After I saw this video of yours I think I gonna buy this AMPLUG METAL.
I have the classic rock one, it has no business being as good as it is for the price and format. It does from the cleanest cleans to Plexi to high gain Marshall tones extremely well, it's dynamic, cleans up with volume control... I use it connected to a tiny but powerful bt speaker and it becomes a micro completely playable rig. Couldn't be more satisfied with it.
Love it Ola.. Unreal! Everything else is out the window
Yup, just ordered one! I watched a review on the boutique model and shat myself when the dude played the built in drum beats! Great sound, great effects, drum beats built in... come on!!! Thanks for the review on this model, vox owes you a commission my man!!!
Man, this little guy would be amazing for practicing with!!!! Boss, have You met Your match??? Lol. Just kidding, guys! I think all endorsements/ambassadors of Metal gear are just as equally awesome as each other! 😉🤘 I really dig the modulation effect!!!
I have been using the AC version for recording and it has been pretty damn awesome. I put effect pedals before it and then into the recording equipment. No complaints! Saves me a lot of time micing a cab for a demo…

These are cool if you travel and wanna bring something simple. The Mono reverb kills it for me a little to be honest. I have the AC30 and the Clean versions...super cute little things. And Yes they do work.
Dont forget it has a AUX in plug so u can insert music to play along with from your phone etc. Thats the most important feature to me. I like to rehearse by playing along to the song Im learning.
