Adam Pugh the is for the comment mate . If you are going to do it after christamas I have a review of a competitor to raptor and there a UK company as well . So if you can hang of for that then you might save a bit of money . Also I’ll be respirating a part of the lower van so ppl can see just how it’s done . Thanks again for watching

IRONJOHN cheers mate . Iv had another company approach me . And there sending me there product so I’ll be re doing part of the van . When the weather gets a bit better showing the whole spray process from can to van . And it’s better than raptor as well

Originally I saw this stuff used just to cover the bed of a pick up truck but recently I’ve seen it used on an entire vehicle. It makes the vehicle look like it’s covered in Teflon. You say it retains heat. What is a person lives in a warm to hot region such as California, Arizona or Texas? Do you think it will make the vehicle too hot?

To be honest mate I’m not TOTALY sure . That would be worth looking in to . Also it retains heat but here in the UK lol we need more than a bit of paint . And I sprayed my entire van in it bar the roof . It’s really good stuff to be honest and great for harsh weather cos it alleAys looks new . And man you save on polish so more money for whiskey

Its came out mint mate very happy with the results, I used 20 bottles in all. it was white originally with a few age related blemishes here n there and we all know what sprinter bodies can preform like lol. But thanks to you mate raptor transformed it 👍🏻

hi mate.am thinking of taking the plunge and doing the full van in raptor as i want to go down the swamper route. ive seen you can put something to dilute the paint slighty so you get a less rough finish but also gives a good mate finish. would you have any pointers before i get it done? (gonna get a spray shop to do it but thye say the have never heard of the stuff so any pointers to pass on would be great haha) thanks dude

to be honest mate i had never sprayed any thing , one tip would be get the masking of within 15 min after spray , once its hard , man its hard , and you want nice clean lines as well , if you leave it longer it will be getting hard , put it this way you can drive it home an hr after spraying , but it wont be rock hard for about 72 hrs ,

Great video Neil. I’m converting an old 16 seater bus. The cab is in mint condition. The body is fibreglass and very dull. I’ve done away with a lot of the windows. I was going to get it wrapped in vinyl. Do you think raptor paint would adhere to the fibreglass and the glass windows that are not required? Thanks.

Oh mate that stuff willl stick to any thing buddy . It’s amazing stuff . You might have to skuff up the glass but it will stick

Hi m8 what size compressor do you need for raptoring a connect mk1 van?

Do you still have to take the van down to metal or can you paint on top of an existing paint job ?

As long as you take the shine off the existing paint then you can apply raptor strait to it mate . That’s one of the best things about it

How long did the van take to dry. Starting my van next week. I was wondering about rain but I do have tarps.

It’s tough dry within 30 min mate . Then takes a few days to harden fully

For that bad finish you can use diy roller paint and half the value paint you sprayed .

we got it off ebay mate , found the colour we wanted and it was left over from a guy who sprayed guitars, and was only £10 as well

Did you give it 1 coat or 2 coats of raptor ? .. was there any strip marks when you were finished ..... looks cracking you done a great job 👍

We only gave it one cost mate cos it covered so welll . I think a second would be overkill . And no it really when on so good I was shocked we didn’t have any kind off marks of flaws

Well it is called truck bed liner . But also sets twice as hard as stone chip .

I’m pretty sure in total we used 1 black and 8 tintable . But it could have been 2 black . But the grey was no more than 8 bottles

@@UrbanVanlife Rolling really saves paint more than spraying. First I bought 1L to test and with it I covered, bonnet, part of roof and hood with 1 layer. I was surprised. 6L gave me 2 layers over whole car. Many rollers wasted as raptor hardens in an hour or so. How is yours raptor keeping on? Mine is nice after few months, no probs.

Daniel to be honest 2 years after spraying it still looks as good as the day we did it . Appart from a couple of self inflicted travel wounds it’s really good stuff and we have been all over the place in some crappy conditions as well

I used in total 8 full bottles of raptor and I have a 120ltr compressor . But it dose not require a huge compressor . Hope that helps

Well for the t4 we used 9 bottles and didn’t do the roof . So you have to work out the cover footage of your van compaired to how much you’ll get off a bottle . Then you’ll know exactly how many Ltrs you’ll need

Well it has high thermal property’s . Just like adding insulation to a van . That keeps heat in the van .

@@UrbanVanlife Unless it has air bubbles in the paint (in which case it wouldnt be a strong paint) I suspect the laws of thermal dynamics would disagree. Because its a think paint doesnt mean it has thermal properties

Appreciate your work and your videos, but I remember this being similar to in the 1980s how we painted our lambrettas with hamerite and bitcho on the inside we thought they looked great and convinced ourselves ,, but the reality now looking back is it was shit,,,, and that is basically the raptor look,, what mug would buy a van that for all they know is hiding all the rot and rust,, better to just restore the paint

Pete Burns ok there is a paint place on the ind est at the bottom of millers bridge in Bootle as you come over millers towards the dock road you go over derby road turn right and it’s on that estate on the right they sell the kits there mate but I can’t remember the name . Yer i used 2pk and you just mix it in . But only a small amount . But I spoke to raptor and the said any car paint will mix with it

Salut, s'il vous plaît, soyez indulgent avec moi car mon français n'est que minime. Nous avons utilisé 7 bouteilles au total de la peinture teintable Raptor plus une petite quantité de peinture métallisée pour obtenir la couleur que nous voulions, puis 2 rapaces noirs pour les rayures et les lignes, mais ils étaient plus pour le look global que nous allions pour. Ohhhh now that’s a question . I personally would say yes cos it sticks to plastic so is say no problems with glass but there is a bonding spray you apply on some surfaces to help bond so I’d use that . It’s a question id ask upol there alleAys happy to help . But I’d say yes

Yer man that would look sick . I’d defo give upol a ring there really helpfull and they might even have a spray for glass like the one for stubborn plastic . But this stuff dose seem to stick to all things . Good luck man

Been thinking of doing this myself with my motorhome conversion on a Mercedes 814d but £6000 is a ridiculous amount of money. I’ve been quoted £1000 by a local company that sprays coaches. That’s 3 coats of paint and then the lacquer. I’ve seen the end results of their spray jobs and they are really good.

@@UrbanVanlife I bought a t5 nearly 2 years go been resprayed just before I bought in the Audi/VW grey , I knew it wasn't perfect when I bought it , but now rust is coming up in all the usual places sills , door edges , door handles etc . Plus there's loads of imperfections in where they put filler on basically it's a pig of a job. Does it look like Schultz in person? Is yours a lwb ?

6k is not w bad price when you think they have to prep the body work fix any imperfections mask the whole van up spay inver coat then do multiple coats of gloss then a finishing coat and all the man power that goes in to it . And if you think that’s bad pop in to bmw they wanted 2500 to spray a bonnet . It’s not cheap getting a spray Job

Try getting a full respray for under £2000 to £4000 so I don’t think £400 is a bad price . It dose have the golden touch

400 was for 10 ltrs

400 quid? I built my own garage and after doing the grp roof I had left over fiber glass paint and painted my off roader with a roller. So if you want to save money just use fiberglass roof paint. 50 quid for 20 liters. Even had the same texture.
