Before silly PPV those big fights were always on regular tv great point

Mustafa Hamsho won by disqualification due to Wilford Scypion being unable to get back into the ring. That was the final ruling, and that dimwitted "commissioner" needs to go back to maid service.

Actually Scypion tried to hold on to Hamsho and Hamsho didn't let Sypion grab on to him. Hamsho did not throw him out of the ring.　　Sypion was so out of it and fall out of the ring on his own. Sypion was not caught under the table either. The ref was correct. The only thing is I thought they should have given the fighter that fallen out of the ring 20 seconds, not 10 seconds. This fight should have been called a knock out win for Hamsho. Sypion got his easy way out and he did know what he was doing too. He was not hurt from the falling as we can see and he had no intention of getting back to the ring.

Sypion was losing the fight anyway , but I agree with you except that Hamsho helped Sypion a little bit to fall out

Would've paid to see Duran try his hand at hamsho before getting a shot at hagler

I remember this like it was just last week ....... The commissioner is funnier today than she was back on the day of the fight.......

Looked like a mix of a push AND his legs being gone. Mustapha looked like he was going to finish him either way.

One of the most bizarre endings to a bout I’ve ever seen. And, if you look at their faces only, you’d never guess that Hamsho dominated this fight. Oh, and watch carefully when Scypion fell out of the ring, he wasn’t pushed by Hamsho. Finally, Braverman called Scypion “the boy.” Cringe.

yeah they were all great but when they had to step in the ring with the Marvellous One it was over for all of them. Marvin Hagler was the King of the Middleweights even better than the great Carlos Monzon.

He was not pushed out at all. He was stumbing forward and Hamsho got out of his way.

I agree...Hamsho was very underated...if not for Hagler.. Hamsho would have been the champion

@@stevensolomon1578 I consider Marvin Hagler as the most dominant champion of my lifetime until Mike Tyson showed up.

Mustapha at point was great Middleweight beating a 99% ko undefeated fighter like scypion.

Benitez, Cyzz(?), Minter, Scypion, Parker....not bad for a guy who probably on paper shouldnt have been that competitive at that kind of level. I remember reading that after retirement Hamsho opened up a restaurant in NY and seemed happy so that is nice to hear.

Yup, I always loved watching him fight. Dude was never intimidated or hesitant, that's why I always wanted to see him mix it up with Duran. He wouldn't have been afraid to do whatever it took.

Scypion was in terrible trouble at any rate, and stood to get badly hurt. But, isn't it supposed to be twenty seconds if someone goes out of the ring?

Always loved watching Hamsho fight. A lot of good fighters who thought they were in great shape found out they weren't. He'd come straight in on you and when you tied him up, you had to wrestle him. Over and over, til you're wore out. Then BOOM BOOM BOOM!!!

Hamsho has no idea how to get his distance. He just lunges at him throwing away. Grapple, grapple break...repeat. Tough dude with an s-ton of endurance. He got a long way with that style. So what do I know?

Paddy Flood held his arm. The fight should have been a no contest or they should have gone to the cards. Paddy Flood and Al Braverman were the jerks who tried to get Larry Holmes bumped off early in his career. Good thing it backfired!

I really do think Hamsho would have beaten Antuofermo, Fully Obel , Tony Sibson, Caveman Lee. Hamsho would have really had his hands full with Juan Roldan but SRL, Hearns , Duran and Mugabi would have beaten him 🥊

@@Robert-qm5so Hearns collapsed like a accordion in 3 rounds. Leonard ran like a deer in huge ring. Hagler froze with Leonard Duran and Vito 1st Fight. And Roldan went down many times with Hagler in one sided fight

Wrong ! Hamsho helped a little , also Albert and Pacheco were close to that spot so they had a good angle , anyway Hamsho was winning in the judges cards , so either way Hamsho would of won

Scypion's problem was that he didn't know how to fight. And a sore loser.
