I’ve met the gentleman that bought and restored the chair after its use on the film. Before his passing he would cosplay as Loveless and attend cons in that chair. It was a gorgeous piece to see in person.
The plastic hammer with the steel shot inside is called a "Dead blow hammer" .We used it in machining to make sure part was seated in the vise.
Makes me want to watch the movie again, just to see the effects!

Indeed! Even if the movie isn't that great (I love it tho) we got to admit the effects were amazing! That giant spider blow me away when I was a kid.
That horseshoe sole detail is just brilliant
Now I understand some of the effects behind one of my favorite DVDs.
These videos are fantastic and fascinating! Thanks for sharing them.

Thanks for watching!
I got a massive laugh hearing Lorne throw Wild Wild West under the bus within the first 10 seconds of the video, haha!

I always watch most movies in seperate parts. Even the worst movies can have moments that inspire. SFX and sound being great examples. But, you can't fix a bad script, directors and... actors. #MyBad
The town that burned down was on a film ranch in New Mexico south of Santa Fe. About two thirds of it had gone up. This is the same place they used for the First Thor movie, they paved the main street and put modern facades made of foam on the buildings. If you look in some scenes on the side streets you can see they are dirt.
Really enjoy Pete Gerard's stories, and his attention to detail.
Thanks for preserving this priceless history and information!!!!! These artists rule!!!!!
Thats really interesting. I am not about to make moving miniatures, but its still good to know stuff like this.
Absolutely Fascinating! Thank you.
The plastic hammer... That's called a dead blow
I still haven't seen the movie, but this got me interested. I just love practical effects.
Incredible! Love it... LOL! Love the Dog at 7:06 !
Lorne is the coolest of them all!

Thanks! More coming soon.
One of my favorite movies, love this stuff!
Seeing Kevin Kline in drag made me feel funny. This movie is worth watching for the unique production design and special effects alone.
The actual film clips using the special effects they described would have added a lot to this video.

If you have the cash to pay for the licensing fees... I don't want to be sued by the studios.
The film really isn't that bad, with a little more work it could have been great. The special effects are really good.
The weighted rocks is a good idea. Shame it was completely hidden under the pyro smoke.
I love your videos, but can you leave the pictures on screen for more time? I have to stop the video to admire them, let people talk over them. Thanks.

The Amazon DVDs are sold out. Not sure if more are coming. But I am uploading the full doc (12+ hours) here on my channel!
Very interesting, corn syrup inside a balloon also doesn’t bounce.
I don't think you can't even see the rocks landing on the ground in the movie. Such a shame. :(
I found this movie entertaining, it’s not as bad as people say. Certainly not one you’ll watch again and again, but worth at least one view.
Christopher Nolan would probably love this guy for practical effects
Wasted his time making the rocks not bounce, the movie doesnt show them hit the ground

When you work on movie effects you have to be as realistic as possible. You don't know what the director or editor will use later. Much of the time all of your work ends up on the cutting room floor. But you've been paid!
The invention of steampunk, heheh
Shame that the Movie itself was pure Garbage .
sorry effects
Great FX ,crap movie. insult to the original.....
that would have been a nice movie, but will smith ruined everything...
