4:23 I had NO idea that was in camera! all this time I thought it was just stock footage they had sourced somewhere but the fact that an f15 and a f14 flying in formation always caught my attention. would the navy and Air Force split up escort duties?

I used to direct these kind of true-crime shows, and it can indeed get very grim when you're looking at the horrible crime scene photos and getting actors to recreate these things. We used a lot of blood, but never had the budget for great miniatures like this.

Great video. There is a history to crime scene miniatures. A woman named Frances Glessner Lee created realistic true crime scenes called the Nutshell Studies of Unexplained Death as teaching devices for detectives who view them and then write down their impressions of the crimes. The history is really fascinating. There are old magazine articles and more recent books and a documentary called Of Dolls and Murder.

That's a different type of documentary. The model makers don't film the miniatures. I do have a few cameramen included in these Sense of Scale interviews, but it is mainly about the model makers. Camera crew and photography of the models is a different subject that I may get into some day.
