As much as I'm surprised ! i think this man made good decisions! but some of the worst as well ! star wars Dennis murrain ! turns down empire ! and the clash of the titan's oh my !
0:41 if you look ad the end of the show not sure what episode but this on the end credits like a temple area where trex is chasing them !
4:23 I had NO idea that was in camera! all this time I thought it was just stock footage they had sourced somewhere but the fact that an f15 and a f14 flying in formation always caught my attention. would the navy and Air Force split up escort duties?
I was one of the puppeteers for the big T-rex for the final battle. It was my first job for John Buechler. RIP
Have a nice day! ❤
Is that the sphere from First Men in the Moon behind him?
A replica, yes.
@@piercefilm ok if that was the original I'd be dumbfounded it had survived!
❤
Seeing the Land of the Lost marquees is a very exciting revelation.
This movie really isnt bad you guys just dont have enough patience to sit around for 2 hours. YET you can sit around for 1 hour 45 minutes? Like seriously TMP haters make 0 sense
I don't think anyone under 25 can sit longer than five minutes without looking at their phone today. Times have changed. New audiences will need new types of filmmaking to keep them entertained. Too much media out there...
@@piercefilm Btw im 13 and i can watch the whole movie with no issue
@@piercefilm i just love the models
Infact I’m currently in season 3 of TOS and I’m trying to watch every episode of every star trek show.
The last time I talked to Greg on the phone, he was telling me about the set models he was working on.
I remember at 9 years old being blown away by the detail of the Klingon ship, the front piece in particular. 45 year later, I watch an interview of the guy who did it. Awesome.
:)
I wonder what happened to the full scale model ? Does it still exist after 40+ years ?
I think it was reworked to be the fictional jet in Deal of the Century (1983).
It is the greatest fictional aircraft ever made.
Imagine the years taken off these folk's lives from all that wonderful exposure to paint and oil fumes.. Union jobs too eh...
It is dangerous stuff, but doing construction work and coal mining isn't much healthier nor as much fun...
this was FASCINATING!!!!!!
WOOOOW! THAT was unexpected, yet fascinating! Yeah, those sound like they were rough gigs to do.
Love your content, thank you.
Thanks for watching!
Very good use of miniatures - a precedent was set in the past by a woman who used to make detailed dioramas of crime scenes to help police investigations.
What type of paint use on the minitures
I used to direct these kind of true-crime shows, and it can indeed get very grim when you're looking at the horrible crime scene photos and getting actors to recreate these things. We used a lot of blood, but never had the budget for great miniatures like this.
Fascinating, thank you.
❤
Excellent thumbnail
My home town !
Would’ve been nice to have a link to the actual program if it’s already showing😊
One is on Netflix and the other on Hulu. I don't work for the studios. My Sense of Scale videos are separate and focus on the model makers.
@@piercefilm just a suggestion not a complaint like a channel thanks again
This would make a chilling movie. Imagine someone creating crime scenes on a miniature scale and then teasing the Police with unsolved murders. Or something like that. Lol.
Very cool gig, I used to model 1:220 models for casting not easy and can effect eyesight I found out.
That's gotta be such a weird feeling having the family of the victims or the perpetrators helping with the filming.
Hate the subject matter but love the model making process.
I had no idea this was even a thing. What a fascinating combination of art & crime.
Rashomon, but with gang members.
Great video. There is a history to crime scene miniatures. A woman named Frances Glessner Lee created realistic true crime scenes called the Nutshell Studies of Unexplained Death as teaching devices for detectives who view them and then write down their impressions of the crimes. The history is really fascinating. There are old magazine articles and more recent books and a documentary called Of Dolls and Murder.
Glad you included the final footage of the explosion. They did an incredible job.
Such impressive and well-executed designs!
This was a most unexpectedly interesting story beyond the admiration for the scale miniatures...
Talented studio
Really fascinating. In so many of your videos you show the joys and the pressures of model making. This showed a darker and more visceral use of modelmaking.
Please talk more about cameras, lenses, focal lengths and depth of field for your models.
That's a different type of documentary. The model makers don't film the miniatures. I do have a few cameramen included in these Sense of Scale interviews, but it is mainly about the model makers. Camera crew and photography of the models is a different subject that I may get into some day.
WAYYYYY COOL-! Your art makes a difference, amigo. D.A.
Very, very interesting!
Anyone know which specific episode it is? This is a neat way of story telling!
"Why did you kill me?" on Netflix true crime
The Riverside case was for a documentary called ‘Why Did You Kill Me?” For Netflix, and the Florida case was for a documentary called “Dead Asleep” for Hulu
@@piercefilm Thank you very much!
@@CreationConsultants Wonderful thank you!!
Absolutely amazing company ❤
thats a really nice way to explain the story and feel grounded. beautiful models and lighting
I know CGI is used extensively in these situations as well but this is the first time I've seen this kind of artistry applied for legal purposes. Pretty cool!
That´s very interesting. I wonder if miniatures were ever used during trials and such.
That's by far the most bizarre use of models I've ever seen.
The one brother sounds exactly like George Lucas 😮(last one speaking in the video)
That's Robert Skotak.
The full season is on Tubi...You're welcome!!
