Wild Coyote Plays With People's Dogs Until A Man Gives Him New Home | Cuddle Buddies

Үй жануарлары мен аңдар

Carmine the coyote caused quite a stir when he was jumping into people’s yards to play with dogs. Eager to catch and protect him, Brandon acted quickly to save Carmine from anyone wanting to hurt him. The capture went well and they took him to a sanctuary where there was another coyote waiting. As fate would have it, the two have become best friends and these friendly coyotes are safe and protected

Where Carmine lives, the usual practice is putting down the coyotes that get on people's properties. Therefore, bringing him to the sanctuary saved his life. If you ever see a coyote in your backyard, make sure to contact your local wildlife rescue🐾

Thank you CuddleBuddies for explaining that and for the advice ❤️! Although, as far as I am concerned, the "usual practice of putting down the coyotes" needs to be abolished and banned! Why can't people just learn to peacefully coexist with wildlife? They were here before us and, at the end of the day, murdering them just because some people simply don't like them and because coyotes don't understand boundaries, is unethical, cruel and wrong! Humans understand boundaries but there is no usual practice of putting down/shooting intruders who go onto your property or being able to murder and get away with it just because you didn't like them near your property! Why are coyotes any different?!!

As I see it - if you have a coyote in your area that isn't causing trouble for you then just keep an eye on it and make it at least reasonably comfortable. If you remove it then you'll risk that another coyote moves in that could be a troublemaker, especially if you are in an area where there are more coyotes. Most common food source for them is small rodents, so if they stick to that diet then you'll have less trouble from them.

Coyotes will often call out dogs to “play” - and it doesn’t always work out well. Glad things turned out OK here.

Lovely they just want to be part of a pack even if its with dogs, shame that they cant live with humans for walks & company too but this is better than what they were going through

Beware of coyotes who make friends with your dogs. If they get them alone they will lure the dog away to their pack and it doesn't end well

That is a coyote domestic dog hybrid. Not full bloded at all. They can be either super super nice and smart. Or wildly vicious and aggressive. Hybrids are scary till you know what ya got. Even then...

The one in my avatar was a high-content coy-dog (87.5% coyote DNA). Every time I'd take her to the vet for her annual check-up, I'd place her on the examining table and he'd say "Remind me again...is she one of the nice ones or one of the mean ones?" Happily, she was nice (and super-smart).

@tomindenver1331 When I lived in Missouri, there was a huge problem with packs of feral dogs in tue 80s. People would just dump dogs in a particular spot. Next thing you got 15 or 20 big dogs eating cows and young horses. The state got that fixed. Then they had a huge bunch of hybrid coyotes eating calves, cat, dogs, anything that moved really. It took 20 years for all that to clear out. My buddy shot one with a bow and got the state record. It was 90 pounds. The agent said its impossible for a coyote to get that big. Massive it was. Record stood as they were thrilled an alpha hybrid had been culled. Would be interesting to have one as a pet. Looks like they are loaded with personality.

While Carmine's exact ancestry is uncertain, he exhibits behaviors typical of coyotes, including his intelligence and adaptability. Regardless of his lineage, Carmine deserves love and care, and we're grateful he's found safety and companionship at the sanctuary. 🐾❤️ Thank you for your concern and support!

Carmine and Wilee are both so adorable and sweet and bless your heart for taking Wilee and Carmine to a sanctuary, where they can live their lives together and be safe forever, and therefore saving their lives 🐺😻❤️❤️❤️❤️!! They both (especially Wilee) remind me of our dog and wolves in general (of course, they are all part of the canine family)! I just don't understand what is so wrong with people that they get so stupidly fussy and hysterical about coyotes being around?! Why can't people just learn to coexist peacefully with other animals?! Where my family and I live in the UK, we have foxes around where we live and we absolutely love them being around and seeing them near us (the foxes even used to like following behind and seranading our dog whilst on her walks in the early morning). It would be the same with coyotes. Humans are the dangerous species, not coyotes!!

His friendliness suggested rabies because wild coyotes are aggressive and fearful on contact with humans. With that ruled out, he likely was someone’s pet and escaped or was dumped.
