Hi Tom, so we met you at around 14minutes into this video, at the extreme foot of Skiddaw, you were following in on some DofE students who were being celebrated at the end, and we thought you were one of them! LOL. So good to meet you, have been watching your vids ever since and look forward to the weekly updates. Keep going, I am a Cornish girl, you are headed towards a very beautiful place. Your van vids are inspirational, Mark and I want to do a transit conversion, or at least I do! And I want to tour about, but maybe walking is the way :-) Keep going! 🙂

I'm envious. The bothies over the past couple of episodes have been really nice and clean looking. Compared with, say, a shelter on the Appalachian Trail (or at least some of them), the UK does a nice job (beginning with the fact that there are four walls).

Tom Thanks for bringing these remote places to us. The UK has a unique landscape. Travelled by many people over the years but still retains the ability to take ones breath away.

The number of folk at the summit of Scafell Pike that must have been a shock after being alone in the wild. Much the same as Ben Nevis when we did it! Keep up thd good work, cheers Mike 🍷🍷

Great to see ya go through Carlisle (my hometown), once again cracking effort in the fells, on bonfire night I occasionally went up to Colbeck to watch all the fire works in Carlisle and as far as Dumfries, amazing sight 🙂

We passed you on the way up Scafell as you were coming down - we were lucky with the weather!

Did our first ever wild camp right on that very spot, I really mean it your tent was within an inch of were mine was, we did it in May a few years ago and in the morning we had snow! Keep up the great work.

this one is actually one of my favourite bothies, no bells and whistles, its so lovely

I was in the lake district last week and did scaffell pike and it was baking. Went back done the same side you did and nearly fell over a couple of times.

Great episode of your journey, well done Tom. Does seem sad to come back into civilisation after the tranquility of Scotland.

Great episode. You would have had good views down into Borrowdale, such a cracking area of Cumbria. Just back from the lakes, Helvellyn with a Swirral edge and Striding edge bolt on 🥵.

The thing with the Lakes, is that the small number of popular mountains (Scafell, Helvellyn, Langdale Pikes, etc.) can get super busy, especially in summer, but venture away from these and there are relatively few people in the hills.

Interesting point, I would love to do it all the same, but also to share it online so others might see how we did it. Maybe we would have a “cheat shed”, where the computer it ext, haha. Been reading lots of inspiring off grid books, just need to save up for some land
