Yoshifreak128 Did they honestly say the human eye can't see past 24fps? As far as I know, humans can perceive upwards to 120fps given the technology (120 fps game on a 120htz monitor/tv) as far as I know. 24fps is the bare minimum of when a sequence of images start to look like one consistent image of motion.

Wil Castaneda Eh, I don't think the 24fps minimum is actually true. Most brickfilms (LEGO animations) are made in 15 fps and can look very smooth.

That level design, that art design, that character design, that game design. Haven't seen something as fresh as this for a long time. In a world with tousand copies of Call of Duty I really will enjoy playing this unique shooter. Can't wait to play it!

***** I'd say innovative applies as well. Paint battles, third person shooting with turning into a squid in order to evade and tactically flank your enemy, along with platforming and puzzles seamlessly integrated into the campaign makes for a pretty innovative experience.

This game seems like it has a lot higher skill ceiling and a lot more strategy than most modern military fps games. Remember that thing called 'Gameplay'? Nintendo didn't forget it.

The FPS isn't just a number actually. It helps the movements and game feel fluid. Also, if you only want 18 FPS buy a bad computer and try playing any game capped at 18 FPS. You can't do anything.

Yes the game will be 60fps. This video confirms it and Nintendos first party titles on wii u have mostly been 60fps besides hyrule warriors due to the amount of stuff on screen.

Guitardude8794 You are right I just said it incase someone dosen't realise that. Most of the first party titles do run at 60fps or 50-60fps. You won't notice a difference if it dips to lets say 54fps. I can't think of one first party title that dosen't.

That's because Nintendo doesn't try to make their consoles into a pc like Sony and Microsoft. They care about how their games perform, not how they look. Even though all their games look incredible.

Neben Mario Kart 8 könnte auch Splatoon als "News-Game" genutzt werden? Ich weiß nicht wie es um die Konzentration in dem Spiel bestellt ist, also wie gut man auf seine Gegner achten muss, aber es wäre trotzdem interessant mit anzusehen.^^ Don't let the Hype die! Splatoon FTW!^^

***** 720p and 1080p look virtually the same (of course, depending on the size of your TV and how far you sit from it, but by average, most people can't tell the difference). If a game is 1080p 60FPS (SSB4WiiU), great! If a game is 720p 60FPS (MK8), great! If a game is even 480p 60FPS that's still awesome because I only look at the quality of the game not how much stupid pixels I can see on a screen.

***** 4K is more or less more important to PC gaming rather than console because you sit so close to the screen. The eighth nor ninth generation of consoles needs this yet, in my opinion. Most people don't even own 4K monitors (Though a good portion of people still do for their PC's)

Hey, good call on putting your trailers on 60 FPS now Ninty! I hope people support this game though, because they've been fussing about wanting an new IP, and they got one! Look at it, it's just screaming unique, innovative and creative right at you! I don't want to hear people saying, "Wah! All Nintento makes is Mario, Zelda, Pokemon, etc." And then say, " Why are they making this game when they should be making a new Mario, Zelda, Pokemon, etc." It's those kind of people that annoy me...

yesterday I finally could buy the game and play it (all I can play is the campaign but it's fine). Hopefully I don't have to wait half a decade to play the sequels...

a game like this at 60 fps makes it more realistic and i like that

You know when a frist saw this game during the e3 direct. I loved it but feared that a multiplayer only/focused game wouldn't gave much standing power. I'm happy to see the devs were aware of that and that it'll indeed have a single player mode. I'm looking forward to playing this.

Watching this again after S1 died is.. Kinda sad. Reading all the comments of people excited for this game makes me very nostalgic, despite never playing s1.(i picked up the series during S2 FrostyFest)

the reason this isn't in 1080p is because a 1080p video of this before the game released would cause too much visual hype for the eyes to handle, a 1080p 60fps could cause people's eyes to become cephalopodised and gain a bright neon colour.

The more I check into This game and hear more details about it the more I wanna buy it & play it.....I hope overall it does good

I love how 'hipster' this game is. It's got style! Not to mention how fun it looks! I wasn't really pumped up when they revealed it because I thought it would ONLY be 4v4 multiplayer but now that they revealed a single-player mode and a hub to customize your characters it's turned into a must-buy!

This could easily be a cartoon on Cartoon Network. Maybe I'm saying that because it reminds me of Codename KND.

This game looks like it has so much depth.

I love the way wii u exclusives are always optimised perfectly it keeps me coming back to wii u, 60fps is better over resolution as well, doing it right nintend

Co-op wouldn't work. Split screen totally ruins the game. If only there was a way for someone to play on the television and someone play on (i don't know) a controller. That would be awesome. I have a theory about the sailor. He's probably the one that not only discovered the Inklings but also the one to discover where they live. At 0:51 he looks around like he has no clue where he is and he seems surprised by the Inklings. That's just a theory though.

He's clearly an Inkling himself, only older. He was the same squid eyes and tentacle hair (and mustache), like the Inklings do. The style is completely different from the Octopus girl's hair style (with the suckers where the colored part is). He's probably more surprised of the fact kids are running around covering things with ink. My guess is that he's going to act like some kind of mentor or tutorial character and probably knows a thing or two about the Octo Uprising considering it looks like he lives underground or something.

That's exactly what I thought when they first showed it. Seriously though, it's a game where you have to gun down people with what essentially looks like Nickelodeon slime in a squirt gun. It's even in the right colors! (green for the classic slime color and orange for the logo splat) If Nick and Ninty don't get some sort of deal together for this it'll be a huge missed opportunity.

Miyamoto says they need the right "control" option before they do that, though we all thought Starfox might have been dead, yet it was secretly in the works for 6 years...F-Zero COULD secretly be in the works. Though we have Fast Racing Neo which is close to F-Zero.

luckylombre Not to mention it was said the Development Team had an "Exodus" during the game's development. No wonder they always kept showing Alpha Gameplay at E3.

Jinsei Cast Exodus: noun a mass departure of people, especially emigrants. He's basically saying that some of the dev team up and went.

Still looks amazing, can't wait and i think we saw some single player levels, reminds me of Sunshrine a little bit. Can't wait for it too come out!

This trailer pretty much gets me so hyped up for Splatoon!!! Plus, I'm surprised that this 60fps trailer has way more views than the Mario Kart 8 DLC trailer!! I'm so excited for this game that I wish it came out this year instead of next... but I still can't wait!

Even Sonic 1 on the genesis was 60 fps. These Nintendo fans are hyping it because they know their console is obsolete half baked trash.

Thing is that "Next-gen consoles" have reverted the standard to 30fps due to "al teh amayzin aych dee grafiex" which are handled with ease by the GPU but then there is this even more important thing called CPU that can't handle the high-res textures, smooth animations, high-poly models, AI, high quality music and sound effects, and so on at the same time... So instead to limiting their game to have it running optimally, they push it to the limits while sacrificing stuff like the fluidity of animations, etc., so 60fps games on consoles are quite a thing. Quite ironic, since even Smash Bros. 64 ran at 60fps. Such a downgrade... One console can't handle "next-gen" graphics and the other two can't handle smooth framerates. This gen is a whole "pick your poison" thing. No winner specs-wise.

Tell me the biggest graphical improvement from last gen to this gen...besides the 10,000 Unity NPC that just stand around and do NOTHING but point out your crimes.

The music is amazing.

Man, the anarchic tone of the graphics and the color scheme are giving me a total Jet Set/Grind Radio vibe. I'm gonna love this game.
