Eazy E is number 41 in the first greatest list back in the 1999 Blaze Mag Greatest MCs list. Too Short is number 17 on that same list and he had the simplest style out of everyone. After I produced the "Georgia" beat on my MPC1000 for Gucci Mane (The Movie : Gangsta Grillz), I noticed he was rappin FAST/Intricate so I started listening to more releases. Most songs Wop used the slow flow but the technique started to match the arrogance as he got better. The rookie arrogance is what turns a seasoned Rakim/Marley Mall fan off but I'm born in Brick City and I cosign Wop flow as well as Dana Dane - The Gucci Man (1987) NY 🤣😂 🤣😂

Don't ever compare the GOD, RZA, with Silk the Shocker, lol.

There’s so much to unpack from the list and this conversation but I have a few thoughts. First, Silkk should not have been #1. He’s a C-/ C average at best rapper, not exactly what I would call trash. I’d easily put Master P ahead of Silkk. Master P used try to rap like 2pac and it just never worked. If you put out an album as a solo rapper then you allow yourself to be judged as a rapper; it doesn’t matter if you were a businessman first. Even a “part-time” rapper can get it. This list clearly has bias as BHigh pointed out. Southern rappers have always favored influence over lyricism. Their approach to hip hop compared to other regions have always been different and fans outside the South judge our artists different. I’d easily put Gucci and OJ on the Top influential Artists list because of both of their impact on the culture but even I’d agree that they will always be ranked worse if judged strictly on lyricism.
