To be honest. Wayne is always debatable. He's one of them names you throw out and can't really dispute. If he aint a Goat, he's in the conversation

Wayne is always in the convo. If you look at everything he’s done, while also having Drake and Nicki, he’s arguably the 🐐. To m, me, Wayne and Hov are the top 2.

Wayne had one of the greatest peaks, longevity, classic projects, multiple hit records, a talented wordsmith, and arguably the biggest influence of any other rapper besides maybe Kanye. From an objective standpoint he has a strong case for goat

Right I feel it. Personally I feel Wayne is the greatest of all time. But these are opinions. That’s why I always say “arguably” the greatest cause I can argue all day on why he is. Lol

@@937youngjay yup I agree. That’s why I feel we have to use certain qualifiers to determine somewhat (even tho you’re right it’s impossible because music is subjective). But Wayne literally checks every box. Sold a milli in a week twice, hits for decades, he can rap damn good, and he has more kids than everyone of his generation. Him with a couple other names are literally what hip hop would look like if they were in the dictionary book

  • @ryansmith9470

I don't even think Kanye could measure. Him and Jay released an album same week as the Carter 3 and it outsold them. Watch The Throne sold a million less copies. And Wayne won 4 grammies that year. Which was the most ever for a rapper. He dominated the market.

I think the goat is subjective to the time you grew up from teens to 25. Lil Wayne is a top 10 but GOAT nah Jay-Z has more longevity than him. More influential when jay said no crome on my wheels ppl stopped putting crome on the wheels, no throw back jersey button ups kids still wear button ups 20yrs later but wayne is up there

Wayne’s skillset, versatility, impact, longevity, body of work, and like you said leadership (Drake and Nicki) makes him the 🐐. Can’t name another rapper who literally OWNED the game and had it on a chokehold for a solid 4-5 years. Just think about the albums, mixtapes and features. Drake and Nicki were top 5 in the 2010s. Wayne is bigger than hip hop. He made everyone bring their A game on tracks and a whole generation wanted to be like Wayne. To me, Wayne is the Kobe of Hip Hop.

If you’re talking record sales then then Eminem has that. Wayne is number 5 on that list. Relevancy is still Pac. Hell all you gotta do as a new rapper is say something negative about Pac to get your publicity. Just a couple years ago that was the new rappers rollout and promo. Pac had more movies, if you’re mentioning movies. If you’re saying he has more money than Ross, TI and Luda...we don’t know that to be true because Baby said “contracts are made to be re-contracted” and Wayne was trying to sue him plus he just sold his masters so money may be looking kinda funny. Just saying. Did Wayne get Nicki hot or did Nicki get hot when she was running with Gucci and Deb Antney?! Wayne just came in and put the bow on an already wrapped present. Free styling doesn’t mean as much if you ain’t saying sh!t Money doesn’t mean you’re the best bruh. Rudy Gobert for the Utah Jazz just signed a bigger contract than Hakeem Olojuwon ever signed but that doesn’t mean Rudy Gobert is better than Hakeem The Dream! Now the Mike Vs Prince thing is a little different. Mike was the “icon” but Prince was the better artist...he played 21 different instruments, completed an entire album solo(wrote, recorded, arranged etc) and wrote for too many people to name..even rock and roll groups.

I don't disagree. Eminem with Dre created the whole aftermath culture when 50 Cent came out. And they traded back and forth for a while until Lil Wayne dominated the market. He made both Nicki and Drake. There was. Period of time where they were untouchable. Wayne even outsold Kayne and Jay Z together when they made their collab album.

A lot of these rappers have been able to rap about and profit off these lifestyles they don’t actually live or even condone. Wayne is super creative and has a way with words that most don’t but that’s all he have done is rap. Tupac transcended “rap” and truly left words and influence as well as his actions has continue to help mold us as a race and culture. I love both tho. Tupac just more dynamic and layered

Think about the impact 2 pac continuous to make 27 years after his death. Tupacs clothing still sells. Albums still sell, stories are still told and his music is still playing everywhere because it’s timeless. Lil Wayne’s music was great but it was only great during the times it was hot.

This is where I think people go wrong with Wayne. He's a beast. Some people only judge his albums, some people judge his features which are amazing, but most overstep his mixtapes where he kills it. He has his fair amount of Dad jokes and puns, but when you really listen to songs where he stays on one particular topic it's the best.

Pac cant freestyle? What? He freestyled the verse on homies and thugs on the scarface album and that is better than Wayne's shit. Pac did songs in one take and so fast it might as well been freestyled. Listen to how edi described when they recorded hit em up. Pac did his verse and after fatal went...pac said oh shit he killed it and then went and did the second verse...after edi finished the song pac went in there and went off at the end...that funny sound during his rant was the mic acting up to that fire pac was saying and they didnt go back and edit anything.
