In my opinion Me Against The World is and will always be Pac’s greatest album. From the production to the lyrics. There aren’t too many albums that even come close to quality that Pac delivered on Me Against the World.

The mixing and mastering on Aqemini are exceptional. I only dock it for that Mamacita song, because I feel like that beat kinda, sorta drowned out some of the lyrics. I have Atliens ahead of it. Both albums are next level as far as what Organized Noize did with live instrumemtation.

Makaveli was on another level. And it’s crazy because he didn’t even intend that to be an album, it was supposed to be a mixtape for mom and pop stores. I think Pac was about 1-2 years away from hitting his prime years and it sucks we’ll never get to hear what he could’ve done bc by the time he got to Makaveli he was able to balance making thought provoking and conscious songs with the songs that could grab the gangsters and lost youth of the ghetto who he wanted to reach to teach.

All factz. It's scary to think, musically and conceptual wise, just how high 2Pac would've soared in the late '90s/early 2000s, because he was still getting better. He was nowhere near his peak writing wise. I think he would've eventually transitioned into writing movies and perhaps screenplays, but he may have gave us more thought provoking music well into the 2005-2010 era. Sadly, we'll never know. Speaking of Wicked talking about DJ Quik in the club, did ya’ll know DJ Quik did the drums for 50 Cent In Da Club track? He also did co-production on How We Do with Game and 50 Cent. Quik also worked with the Neptunes on Nelly “Hot in Here”. He also worked on Kendrick “King Kunta” track. He’s done a lot of more work behind than his own projects. He also taught your favorite producer Dr. Dre mixing techniques and provided him sounds.

I disagree with one thing you said. I believe the chronic is mixed better than doggy style. The chronic has more of a warm feel. On Doggy style it's like Dre was focused on the highs. To me he had the high hats too bright. Now the Dogg Food album my opinion has a better mix than the Chronic. I noticed when Dre mix he sticks to the same method for the entire album but he uses a diy mixing technique for each album. For instance listen to the GTA album Dre is using a entirety different mixing method. You do have a good ear for music though

Makaveli is a better rap album. AEOM is a better soundtrack to where the West was at that period of time. AEOM he was experimenting. Makaveli, MATW, Thug Life is more of who Pac is/was. But if you put a nice pair of headphones on and turn AEOM all the way up, the PRODUCTION is better. On Makaveli Pac took producers from the “wack room” and maxed out their ability.

No drama. No beef. No gossip about who's gay or who's snitching. This level of hip hop discussion is why I support this channel. You can always tell by the depth of their discussion that B-High and Wicked are genuine hip hop heads. As far as Dj Quik, he def doesnt get his flowers at the level he should. To me, he's the greatest producer/rapper. I dont count guys like Rakim, Ice Cube, Scarface and Eminem, because even tho they all produced too, we think of them as rappers first, not producers. Quik arguably has 3-4 classic solo albums. Quik's not held as high as Dre, because he didnt help cultivate and break all-time artists like NWA, Snoop Dogg, Eminem, 50 Cent and Kendrick Lamar. As far as the 2Pac debate, there's no wrong answer between whether AEOM or Makaveli is better. Imma Makaveli guy, because I think it's a continuation, in some ways, of where he left off with MATW, with the dark introspective lyrics, dark production, and socio-political topics. AEOM is a masterpiece, but that's moreso a Death Row album than a 2Pac album, if that makes sense. Hell, nearly a third of the songs on there already belonged to Death Row artists before 2Pac got there. My top 5 albums sonically, in no particular order: 1.) Midnight Marauders by ATCQ. Incredible sample-digging and flips by Q-Tip 2.) The Chronic by Dr Dre. Put simply, hip hop's landscape, sonically, forever changed when this dropped. 3.) It Takes A Nation by PE. Two words: Bomb Squad! 4.) Doggystyle by Snoop Dogg. See: The Chronic comments above. It's a continuation of that. 5.) Life After Death by Big. Sonically, the mixing and mastering here is still better than what's out today despite being done in the analog era. Honorable mentions: 1. AEOM 2. Chronic 2001 3. 3 Feet High and Rising 4. Dogg Food 5. Atliens 6. Balance & Options 7. Safe & Sound
