What i like about old school skateboards is that you can tell where the tail is very easily unlike the modern skateboards

Now we got Egg/symmetrical boards where the "nose" and the "tail" are the exact same.
There's something to be said for the 80's thrash style. It's like breakdancing with a skateboard. We don't see enough of it these days.

Yes! All the different street plants especially!
I had a Kendall graffiti back in the day. I have a reissue of a Vision board I rode in 1987 and setup pretty similar and love riding it. Still rip a Popsicle setup though.
The 80s boards were heavy with terrible bearings and wheeels. With today technology and materials, I would love to buy one with edgy colors!

What are you talking about? The wheels we used were the same as today. I skated slimeballs and bones Swiss. I’d rather not follow the crowd and be like everyone else , we have enough clones in this world.

@@venus0031 There were nice wheels back them and no problem in being a purist. But today we have options of lighter materials for the truck, board, bolts... which will make you jump higher. The griptape technology today is much better too.

@@Skriot Kid, weight a original board from the 80s and compare with the ones they sell today. I'm from 82, Brazil. We didn't have access to the best equipment back them. We usually buy copies of US brands made in Asia, and they were sold in Paraguai, then, brought to Brazil, super expensive. Only rich kids of Brazil had access to the best US stuff in the 80s. I started skating with 7 (89) till 2005, when I bop my second knee. Baby, you are so wrong.

Blast Skates Callum McRobbie 10.25" - Indys stage 4 / 166 - Bones wheels X97a 56mm. (if you an enthusiastic of old school boards *Blast Skates* might have something for you) Greetings from Austria.

Old school boards are just a lot more fun! I still use 60 mm OJs, but for tricks they should be significantly smaller like yours. In Germany we have really crappy roads and without cruiser wheels, driving from A to B is somehow no fun for me. I also really love the tricks you show. There are really a few that give me new ideas. I would actually like a how to tutorial for each one or I have to watch your video 100 more times :D. because you pull the tricks so ultra smoothly! ps: what do you call the trick for 2:59? reminds me a bit of the sal flip

I tried a few years ago to go back to late 80s style deck just couldn’t adapt to the longer tail. Also, Jeff Kendall deck in this video looks really good. On the other hand I would never buy another one. I had this deck and it snapped in half right behind the back bolts back in 87. Unless they make them different now For this re-issue it was too stiff and steep at the tail area so the pressure was too much. Love video. Thanks!

@@bigdeckenergy8119Heard the Santa Cruz reissues are made in china and not as good as any of their modern models. I have a santa cruz eric dressen and it feels different than other decks I have.
