Another big reason I would bounce to audio is future proofing. I have old pro tools sessions from 15 plus years ago with plugins that are outdated or don’t exist anymore etc. if I were to have bounced to audio I could go back to those tracks in any DAW to mess around with their original sound still. I learned from that to save 2 sessions, one with the midi data as is, then one with the audio bounces.

Thank you! I was asked to help out on a project but I cannot use samples from albums. I am stuck between a rock and a hard place because I rarely used MIDI, and never tried rendering the MIDI as audio. This is going to help me by allowing me to sample myself. Thanks a million!

Do you bounce out with or without effects on? Better to add afterwards? Bounce them dry? I like to save the midi as well before deleting it, just in case I wanna go back and change something 😃

I came here searching for a confirmation on an issue I've been having regarding MIDI. For whatever reason doing MIDI with a VST of sorts (i.e. serum) they come out soooo low in volume. I find rendering the MIDI to audio, fixes this issue since I can normalize the audio, but can only adjust velocity on the MIDI. Having MIDI in my track leaves me with no options regarding Mixing and mastering as mixing in the -15 db range is a nightmare and also mastering this track and putting a limiter to bring up volume brings up alot of distortion/artifacts in the overall master. Might be a DAW thing as I'm using reaper but MIDI is so god damn low. Kinda got Abit of confirmation from your video, great stuff

How did you move to playlist slots at 3:13 like that? The only way I know is right click and hit up or down on my keyboard

Why when I consolidate my midi I won’t get a sound when it bounces ?

My synth tracks doesn't not clip while in Midi. When I bounce to audio they start clipping. I want to mix in audio without the clipping issue from the tracks. Any way to prevent that?

I'd say you could just lower your volume or gain on the midi track so once you bounce it, you should still have headroom. If it still clips after lowering the input, there is something else fluke goin on

Tell Me Some Reasons To Switch From Logic To FL

  • @ericswearingenmusic9967

iamsatyaofficial preference.. all the big DAWs do pretty much the same stuff. Some have different workflows and it comes down to preference. I switched from pro tools to logic years ago because pro tools, at the time, was a pain in the ass to work with midi on, but was far superior for tracking live instruments etc.. FL is good for making beats and midi, and sampling. Logic is somewhere in the middle of all of them.
