100% agree. I dont want to give anymore money to big oil than i need to. Sourcing, cutting, splitting and stacking wood is peaceful work not to mention the satisfaction that comes from keeping your home a constant 72 degrees when its freezing out. Who doesnt like to visit their wood yard lol. Its great exercise, i cut wood fall through winter and garden spring through summer to be as self reliant as can be. Now i just need some solar.

Just found your channel yesterday. This is a great list. I think you missed the most important reason. I grew up with a wood stove and a fire place in an area where the power was often out. We often had to cook all of our meals and heat water for hygiene and other cleaning purposes. Today just for the fun of it I still cook Thanksgiving dinner on the wood stove. Our children love it. Have a great day.

We are 72 still doing our own wood and much prefer our wood stove over our natural gas. Keeps me outside in winter and as far as chores go it's actually enjoyable if you do it the right time of year.

Absolutely! Thanks for stopping by and leaving a comment. At 72 processing your own wood I imagine is keeping you young as well. Bugs, cold, heat and other factors can definitely mess with the enjoyment, each time of year has its challenges lol

Hello Eli I agree with all of your points !!! Where i live we need at least 6 to 8 months of heat to be comfortable ! And often several months of REALLY cold temperatures !!! Saskatoon Saskatchewan Canada 🇨🇦 😊

Yes I believe that! I have never been that far north, just to the Sioux Narrows part of lake of the woods a couple times and that was for fishing in the early fall

Nostalgia BS eeer ah buffalo chips or cow patties😁, Reading the history of Ft Snelling Mn it was amazing how far they had to travel to gather firewood as it was mostly a plains area at the time. Good video keep them coming!👍 Did you happen to catch Chris's latest video this morning? 1% 💩😁

You don’t need one, they pollute the entire neighborhood. You don’t have a right to ruin the air quality of your fellow residents and their children.

You do know all forms of energy have pollutants right? And that wood causes the same amount of green house gasses as it decays in the forest as it does if it's burned.

@@CentralMinnesotaFirewood True, but not at the levels of woodsmoke. It’s orders of magnitude dirtier. My main issue is the terrible local air quality, not some larger global picture. When PM 2.5 is in the 500 range from neighborhood woodsmoke that’s not right.
