Hi Eli. Looks like you’re busy cutting ironwood. Funny thing about ironwood,is that it has one of the highest btu woods in Minnesota. Neat tree. I have never heard of the chemical it releases but kinda makes sense if that is true. The other thing I can’t believe is being so hard you would think it wouldn’t rot. A down tree that dead on ground you may have 2years and it’s trash. Like oak can sit many years. I missed this video. Later buddy.

This one was #1 and not a real comfortable feeling lol. All those things about iron wood are true and strange. My plan is to keep the Iron wood for myself. I just have to see where I am at for inventory come September as to what I really feel like I could put for sale I think. I don't have nearly what I thought I would as we speak.

Did the first one have the little rollercoaster track tunnels from the ash borer? If not I agree w the 1st comment, likely elm. I started w my dad's homelite 360pro and a super xl. Both were just too heavy. Got a wild thing, was good for trimming and small trees. That totally crapped out so got another poulan. Don't remember model, twas bigger and yellow/black. Total turd. That's when I got my 450 Husqvarna. ❤ It. After having logging done got 352 echo for cutting tops. After watching YT wood guys decided to get holzforma 372xp. Waste of $400. Locked up after not even 1 cord. Got Echo 590 to replace it after taking it to shop. Don't really care if I get it back or not. The 590 is quickly replacing the 450 as #1.

First of all, high five for finding a way to supplement your income through firewood. You will never be in better shape. Since you are just starting out, consider this advice. Find campers in your area and sell your firewood to them by the bundle or in other convenient but small quantities. Sell your firewood to air bnb and other rental homeowners so they keep coming back to you to restock their rental units a bundle or two at a time. We sell firewood to campers and we sell a bunch. We get $300 a cord for our home heating firewood (delivered, not stacked) for our mixed hardwood (mostly ash), but we get $1200 for the exact same cord when it is sold by the bundle instead of by the cord. We now have 2 firewood vending machines that sell firewood to campers and cottage owners 24/7/365 by the bundle. We also sell firewood cash only, daily, in person, during summer and fall camping season. I would sell every stick of our wood as campfire wood and forget about selling home heating firewood. If you can make a product and sell it for $1200 instead of $300, you will be nice and cozy warm all winter. This business was born when my business partners who both heat their homes with outdoor wood boilers tried to find a way to make money and reduce their cost for home heating firewood. If allowed in your state, you may also find a way to deliver firewood to campers inside of state or county parks. Be careful however as there are very specific laws that govern the sale and transportation of firewood. Good luck to you in your new enterprise. 🪓 🚜🥃

Hi
Im self employed im a farrier ( horseshoer) by trade and fire business,i know what you mean its great, but is stressful
Stressful most all the time lol. But here are MASSIVE advantages to it at the same time
Up righting a loaded cement truck without a rotator is amazing.
The concrete company was a local hatrurite colony, They brought over a couple of tracked Case tractors and a payloader. It went amazingly smooth... They seemed to have done it a time or 2 lol. Basically 0 damage to the truck which was also amazing. The truck was almost empty so it was definitely a few pounds less than it could have been. If i wasn't there, I would have had a hard time imagining how smooth it went
Hey iffykidmn, god to see you again. We got some shorts out from HFH in Indiana. We did a video in the Lost Forty ,but the video just don’t give the trees their true size. We will see what we can do. Always good to see you out there. Be safe and take care.
@@clubdoraoutdoorsandfirewood some of those trees up in the Itasca SF are truly amazing.

Thanks for sharing. Sometimes I feel like quitting, but working on building our business so there's a smaller income gap. 🙏 from Andover
