Alex you mentioned another reprint - is this in addition to the confirmed May print we already saw? At what price point would you be a buyer now that the reprint has happened and there is possibly another? You had previously said around or below $60-$70. I am averaging my basis down as things drop. Hard to pass up at these prices. Risk feels as low as its been and long term this set still feels like a powerhouse.

Really hard to tell. SV is popping off already now. Maybe some XY megas and other SV singles that haven't popped yet. Sealed will always be the steady play as well.

ya figure out your personal investment points or things you look for that carry value and focus on what works for you. Same boat here. I go to yt to see things how other sealed investors see them. For instance I look at pull rates and print quality just as much as pokemon chosen in the sets (or popularity). I know that’s weird and I know that’s kinda odd but I do see a delineation between those sets and a profit trend. Such as certain cards become very hard to aquire because of quality and quantity or simply people didn’t grade enough of them so people trying to find them graded have to pay more. Examples Armored mewtwo Arceus Palkia Dialga full art That cards a great example, bc there are I think sub 270 of them which means that if someone wanted to collect every tag team trio card in English, there can be only 270ish people who can have all ten… even if there are thousands of one of the trios, that card becomes a “keyhole card” or by my estimates it should start to climb in value. 🤷‍♂️ it’s all a guessing game.

I've avoided japanese 151 up until now. It's on my radar now that people are panic dumping. cashing out on the swsh alts and about 50% of my swsh boxes to grab some, as well as load up on the last little bit of CZ that remains on the local market.

Just like traditional stocks you want to diversify your risk. My approach going forward is to buy a case of each main set and forget about it. I think too many people overanalyzes which sets are worth investing in making it almost a full time job to figure it out lols. However if your investing strategy is to only buy in on the top sets I do think that requires a bit of analysing and luck. But in the end its all about patience waiting on the big gains!

My current play is buying all gem mint 10 contenders of the new eevee illustration rare. 1st to market play! If it doesn’t work I will hold them. I love that card.

straight up, my play is holding on to things I personally would want to open in the future. I have a small Timmy budget but I know giving into the fomo would be a bad decision if I'm only making it from an emotional standpoint.

What is your opinion on buying TAG graded Pokemon cards? Do you think they will take over in the future and be worth more since the grading is used by AI and not human eye? I’m thinking about investing in some cheap TAG 10s

I am not a fan of all these new grading companies. Too risky. Very hard to convince an entire market of collectors to change which I why I don't think it can be done. I think eventually PSA will just buy one of them out and integrate it into their company.

151 is going lower because of another reprint. No one could’ve predicted that would happen.

You couldn’t have predicted that the most popular set that has JUST been printed, would be printed again?

Crazy to think I managed to get a couple of PE booster boxes at $80 exactly on the tik tok shop a few months back. It’s also crazy how the general community consensus around the set has changed ENTIRELY from nothing special to one of the best in SV since its price rise.

151 Japanese under $70 a box is really good. Gonna be a great long term investment In the coming years especially with those cards and pull rates. Nothing is ever really “overprinted” Eventually everything goes up. Gonna be a nostalgia overdrive set in the future….

So you'd need 10 miraidon psa 10s to have made the same amount of money as 1 Umbreon vmax alt art in a 10. Is the card even that liquid? And if you were to list all 10 at what would have to be lowest listed, would they all be able to sell? I agree that you should look at % gains, but also look at liquidity and the effort in selling each item comparatively. Fees and shipping on all 1 cards compared to just the 1 card also play a factor. So I understand the point, but in practice it's more complex.

During holiday season PE was less than 70 on TkTk

People seem to forget that Pokemon said japanese 151 would be a print to demand set... Thought it was wild that people were excited about getting in at $100-150 a box.

Thing is with illustration rare psa 10s for scarlet and violet, they weren’t worth anything so no one graded them. Now they are getting more expensive people will grade them. And they are like 4 times easier to pull them alt arts. So there are definitely more of them. I can see all the psa 10 prices dropping . But good short term plays if you bought and are selling now.

I don't think jpn 151 is bad. It will eventually go up. It has just become a long term investment. :) imo. Great video as always Alex!

Got my first case of CZ around 38 a box, my buddy clowned me for getting it but a $10-$12 return per box is great! But as a new investor, I’m unsure to sell off half, save all of it or sell all of it. I’m in no rush to make money either

I think you are not telling the full picture with lost origin vs paldea evolved. Like the content by the way, but keep the comparisons similar. LO was $110 to $120 around black friday and going into winter. Even just percent gain on tcg player from 6 months ago for PE vs LO for boosters. LO wins from black friday and from 6 months ago on tcg player for booster boxes

I don’t think anyone was saying S&V is a bad move at $80/booster but when there was so much Swsh you could get at 120-140, you would have to be dumb not to get them. I got cases of charizard upc and picked up a case or two of paldea evolved over a year ago. So I’m dumb but in pokemon sealed investing, it’s not hard as long as you don’t open it.

And Japanese 151 was print to demand, with tons made. Of course it was long hold. Which all Pokémon sealed should be, if you’re trying to flip cases for 20-30% profit, not including shipping and seller fees you are in for a rude awakening. People will be people.

Yup! I only had 2 boxes of 151 for display but when they announced the reprints I sold mine $140 a piece, dirt cheap now. Quick question: I think there are good plays for English 151 SIR cards, I feel some cards are very underrated, Blastoise and Venusaur for $35-$50? Wow...

I listened I love scarlet and violet got in early just look at the prices now I got them 85$-95$ that’s a steal when PC has them at what 164$ before shipping lol 😂 y’all just keep waiting I get them while they are cheap
