Been doing keto 4.5 years and stabilised with typically .7 ketones and a gl of 80. So a Boz ratio over 100. So now why I understand why I wasn’t using the visceral fat. If I simply go back to less than 20 Gr total carbs my ketones go to over 2 and the Boz ratio goes to well below 40. Eating 2 meals a day I am getting the mental clarity and my weight is falling very slowly. So I’m going to go on steadily with high ketones and see if I can keep the Boz ratio below 40. I’m 80 and slowly reduced carbs over the last 25 years every time I reached 220 lbs, and thanks to Keto now weigh 170 - so I’m better off than many.

The one thing I do though is eat a mediterranean diet with lots of olive oil since that is what we were bought up on. I don't do processed food but I do have an occasional sweet. I am still fine but it could be done to good genes. My dad at 93 is very healthy, slim, sharp as a tac even with 3 pieces of bread a day and 2 homemade biscuits. All these KZread MDs contradict each other. I’m not talking about just any MDs, I’m referring to all the ones that supposedly promote low carb/no carbs. Checking Blood Glucose levels daily create a paranoia for those who are afraid if they see a spike. Spikes are a natural way of your body producing insulin. I almost bought the BG+ketones meter thinking maybe I should constantly check them. I’m not a huge fan of Paul Saladino, but he points out how unhealthy it is to check them all the time. Mainly due to the mental aspect. I tend to like Dr. Ken Berry and Anthony Chaffee. But even they do things each differently. We didn’t care about BG and ketones in history, only now with all the processed foods. If you just avoid those and keep your stress down, don’t you think people would solve their insulin resistance issues along with periodic fasts? Saladino and Chaffee both speak against fasting at least weekly ones. Update: I am not saying anything bad about Dr. Boz, I love her passion and her experience she shares. Someone mentioned the Breath way of measuring Ketones, I am curious if Dr. Boz has used that to measure ketones. Not sure if she’s got a sponsorship using Keto mojo.

I check my blood glucose levels when I wake up, before and after eating and before bed. I keep a written record AND I write down what I ate. It does not cause paranoia, but instead it teaches me how different foods affect my body. I’ve done the research before starting this journey, so I know the normal ranges for when I wake up, and 2 hours after I eat. As for testing ketones, I only test in the mornings. I think there is a lot of misconception about "losing" belly fat. You can't lose belly fat and yet you can. Different conditions of human body cause fat to accumulate in different places. If your condition causes fat to accumulate preferentially around your belly and then you remove your condition and then you reduce your fat and then you gain some fat, the net effect of all of this that you will be healthier and your fat will be distributed in a different way with less of it being around your belly. So no, you can't target your training to lose belly fat, but you can *help* fix your health with exercise and the end effect being reducing your belly fat. Just understand the goal is to be healthier which will cause belly fat to reduce.

I lost 120 lbs on keto and kept it off except for 15 lbs that came on after having a sepsis about 8 months ago, Now keto does not work and I's like to lose 30 lbs. My ketones are not high enough from having high protein on carnivore. I have not lost weight on carnivore either but I am trying to trust the process. I fast 16 - 18 hours daily. Would your ketone supplement work in my case? BTW, I am 73 yo.

Been there, you have to start slow. Healthy saturated Fat is a super food and you have to work up to it as your body learns to convert fat instead of highly inflammatory sugars of all kinds. Baby steps. Be aware of likely herxheimer reactions (also called keto flu) as your gut biome 'adjusts'. That depends on how bad your gut damage is from processed foods (extremely hard to digest) and how fubared your gut biome is from sugar (SIBO/SIFO are common parasitic infections from sugar addiction/consumption) Only way out is through... but then you're healed up and buh bye bloat unless you resume a crap diet. It will start all over again without dietary lifestyle changes. As for pork rinds... more processed crap... bullet proof coffee done right is decadent! clean butter and fats matter.

If you take MCT oil and your ketones go up is it the same as your body making ketones? Will you get the same effect? Aren’t you just artificially increasing ketones in your blood? Wouldn’t it be like taking a hormone? Won’t your body eventually stop making that hormone since it is getting it elsewhere?
