Why You Can’t Hit Driver Long & Straight - IMMEDIATELY STOP Doing This!

Спорт

You will quickly love this takeaway drill and take this instantly out on the golf course. The results are pretty instant which is why I love this takeaway drill so much. This drill can be done on the range or out on the golf course. The best part about this drill is the fact you gain SO much control of your club face, you gain control, power and speed without even realising.
In this video, Alex Elliott Golf Top 50 world coach goes over the only drill you need to perfect takeaway in your backswing. I have seen the likes of ben hogan and Justin Rose PREACH about this drill it is that good! The takeaway is one of the most important positions in the golf swing and if you get it right it can benefit your driver shots, iron shots, pitch shots and so on. This is video is essential if you want to get your takeaway right!

I wrote to you before on this takeaway drill and now that I have learned how to hinge my wrists by watching your video it has made me a 100% better on hitting all of my clubs. You explained this in easy to understand with practice drills that I am beyond astonished. Keep up your excellent content, I watch each and every one to find any additional help, and you make it simple. I am 78 and my last three rounds from the senior tees have been in the 70's, never too old to learn.

Alex, watched this video and took it to the driving range and went at 50% as you suggested and what I really liked about your video was the part on pressing down to hinge the wrist when getting it to the right hip, I am 78 and never hit it straighter and longer, best explanation on hinging the wrist

Absolutely fantastic video and so relevant to me I struggle with when to hinge wrists and end up swinging too much inside. This is so simple and easy to take to course. My other problem is the hinging of the right (trail) wrist as I also struggle with having it hinged at the top of the backswing - like holding a tray. It is straight so I have a tendency to throw the club down to the ground and steep. Any suggestions to stop this or could you do a video on this.

I do this with irons without thinking different story with the woods I don’t get much of a back swing if I do i’m wayward going to try more of the wrist movement I got the first one art of the movement today and was much straighter

Alex in yesterday’s video of the anchor drill does that feeling of having your back to the target work for irons as well ( although if it helps me hit driver which I do poorly then I’ll be happy)

3:18 this movement is cocking the wrists, hinging is the side to side motion. Amazed that pros get this wrong. It can cause a lot of confusion!

I've gathered a million tips from many youtubers, some good, some don't work for me (I'm a more visual learner). However, when I get to course I get a form of performance anxiety and the tips Ive worked into my swing fade away, returning to my old swing (a mean slice) and it takes me a a good 9 to 12 holes to reign it in. What tips can you give to help resolving this?

Alex I watched a video you posted last year about bumping the hip forward and addressing the driver an inch or two back from the ball so that I hit it on the up. I took that to the course and it worked so well. I seem to have lost that and have. Is watched this video which makes sense to me. Can I use the two things you you said in this video along with with the points mentioned?
