I Couldn’t Believe This Woman’s Attitude… I Was There To Help!!

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

Welcome back to Murphy's Diesel! In this week's adventure, join us as we tackle the treacherous and Rocky Trail to rescue a stranded church bus!! This Church Bus made it about 3 miles in before it couldn't go anymore. We are talking a broken tie rod, two blown tires, and a damaged door.. This bus found itself in need of assistance. Before sending our off-road wrecker, Hellboy, we initially dispatched our 20-ton heavy-duty wrecker. However, the road conditions proved too severe for our heavy wrecker to navigate and Haydn said "No Way!". Undeterred, we called in Hellboy to the rescue! Watch as we navigate the rugged terrain, hooked up the church bus on our slings on Hellboy (First time using them since rebuilt) and then tow the tour bus all the way back out to the main road and then load it onto our slide axle trailer, and get them back on the road to safety. Don't miss out on this thrilling recovery mission - hit play now!

I wouldn’t know if they are the best, but one thing for sure is the fact that you wouldn’t accept help from me cause I have a “stupid ass beard” says that you have a biased opinion on who the best is. I believe you are simply saying they are the best because they do not possess the ability to grow such a “stupid ass beard” which in your mind makes them the best. Worst case of beard envy I have ever seen.

That young man is to be respected! He accessed the situation and called the the dispatcher and owner to explain he wasn't doing the job as he didn't want to wreck the truck! So many drivers today have the attitude of its not mine so who cares! I'm going to show new drivers this, because I would rather send a different truck to do the job, instead of hundreds or thousands of dollars in damages to repair as well as the truck unable to work!

A little reminiscent of my old church bus. I bought a 1959 Chevy Viking 60 with a 283 and a vacuum shift axle. Had an 8 row Carpenter coach body. I bought it in Nebraska for $400 in 1979. I drove it from Nebraska to New York to California and then to Oregon and New York and back to California and left it in Oregon in 1987. I had it on some fire roads in California and on one road had it stuck 3 times in one day. I self-extracted with a Hi-Lift jack all 3 times. In all that time I only had 2 tires fail and they were on the duallys not the steering axle.

Maybe in a weird way it was a blessing that she was on that road and not on a highway at 70 mph. Eventually that tie road was going to come loose from the sleeve. Good job getting her out! She did have a good attitude for sure! I think that it is human nature to have read the videos heading and think that she must have had a really bad attitude. Nice recovery. I have a shuttle bus about that size, 34 ft, RV converted. It's amazing how many places it can get through.but most of us don't consider what will happen if it breaks down. When mine had a "no start" issue camping just off a tight paved mountain road. The 20 ton wrecker needed, itself fairly long and heavy, was just barely able to navigate that narrow windy road to get to it. Add the length of the bus and there was only one way the two of us were going to get it out. He lifted my bus from the back end, with me in the driver's seat steering the front end of the bus to make it round all those curves. Facing backwards, with only my mirrors to see whats happening, no power steering. It was quite the workout, both physically and mentally, but we got it out without damage to either rig (sorry, no video of). And honestly, some of the places I'd taken it before could have become it's final resting place if this had happened there. So lesson learned, respect earned. Now everywhere I consider taking the bus, where and how I park it. I'm looking at all of it with a fresh set of eyes, a recovery point of view. Making choices that will make recovery easier, if ever needed again.

Nice tow guys, now if I had just been able to get about 10 pounds of air in one of my tires from you guys last year. Granted I didn't know there was a pay air pump on the other side of the parking lot, but heck did use it when the lady in your office said we're to busy to put air in your tire, it took about 15 minutes but it got it done. Still you have a great attitude and rig. If I ever get stuck that bad I'll give yall a call. Funny thing the same Saturday 30 minutes later I ended up stuck in Seligman for 7.5 hours for a leaking fuel bowl cap. I called Triple AAA and they basically said we'll get someone there are soon as possible. Ended up bumming a ride to Ashfork to pick up our car and drove to Chino Valley and picked a cap, and once back to the truck I had it fixed 5 minutes later. Then Triple AA called 7.5 hours later and asked if I still needed a tow. 3 hours earlier the Highway Patrolman that came buy to check on us laughed when I told him I called them, he said, "yeah good luck with that!" Thanks for sharing you cool rig with us. Best Wishes & Blessings. Keith Noneya

Here’s an idea. Skid dolly’s Think water floats/skis on air plane wheels. Design aluminum skids/tubs/dollys with pockets to set the wheels in. Lift each wheel that will be dragged, front or back and strap or chain in these individual skids to the axle or suspension. Then just drag out the vehicle. It adds a little height and gets you through uneven terrain not to mention solves flat tire issues.

The idea is to eliminate rolling bad tires or no tires when pulling out abandoned vehicles over rough ground. Resistance is a concern but any vehicle that is off road on a road so bad needs an instant new way to get over and through ruts and rocks. I like the idea to add a wheel component. Maybe like those skateboards with a single fat wheel in the middle. Anything to provide height and clearance

Gday Wrecker Rick. I spoke to you a couple of videos back about how Hellboy could benefit from axle lockouts while lifting. My thoughts are on this tow they would of been a help as well. If you had rear suspension locked out during the tow, it would of stopped the rear airbags from squatting in the rear giving you more weight over the steer. You have ample articulation in the axles and enough sidewall in the tyres to take up uneven ground while giving positive lift capacity for the chassis. 👍🇦🇺

@@MURPHYSDIESEL have a look at what they use on mobile cranes or rough terrain cranes. Basically just a small hydraulic ram mounted between chassis rail and axle, usually air or electrical actuation. In the unlocked position, the ram is closed and you have full suspension movement. In the locked position, the ram is extended and suspension is at full height, but is mechanically blocked from compressing. Make sure you add warning lights to the dash as you don’t want to drive at speed with them locked. 👍 You could go full Randy spec and use a bit of 2 inch round pipe cut to length and just push it in by hand , and in saying that, if you get a bit to slide into the two inch pipe to move up and down, it wouldn’t be a bad way to figure out your prototype.
