Why Use Both Smart Lights and Smart Switches | HDB Smart Home
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
Our home has all the combinations of dumb and smart lights and switches even after going through serious thoughtful planning during renovation and electrical works. We had to consider what was available in the market, and what fits in our 4-room HDB. In the end, we opted for a combination of smart lights and smart switches for the majority of the house, and this video outlines the reasons why!
With the Aqara H1 switch's decoupled mode, we get the best of both worlds when using the smart lights and smart switches. Once you go smart, you cannot go back.

Hi, I have been looking around for the settings for decoupled mode in the Aqara app, but can’t seems to find. Can u share for this?
Is it possible to expose the “smart switches” (the buttons that work once the switch is in decoupled mode) to Homekit? I can set decouple mode on my Aqara switches, but I can only use them inside the Aqara app, not possible to see them in Homekit, the problem is that I am using smart bulbs that are not aqara, so I cannot control them from the aqara app.
I was looking exactly for that! Unfortunately, seems that aqara just offers the EU format for their wall switch, which are square shaped. Since I'm from brazil, our electrical switch boxes are rectangular, similar as to those in the US. Does anyone know of another smart switch with decoupled mode that fits in the rectangular format?
Hi I have a question on using non-smart lights. I’m using Sol Luminaire lights dimmable and plan to use H1 non-Neural switches from Aqara to control Sol Luminare lights. Will Aqara H1 knob dimmer switch works for dimmable non-smart lights? Any advice would be highly appreciated. Thank you.

I'm not sure about the dimmer switch. Best to ask a vendor like homesmart.sg to get a more accurate answer.
Could I control the lights remotely if I go out of town/ not in the house? Or do I have to be in my house?

This depends on your smart home platform. Most allow internet/remote access by default!
The decoupled mode on your Aqara switches is done via the Aqara app or the eWeLink via your Sonoff hub?

It is set via the Home Assistant / Zigbee2MQTT via the Sonoff dongle.
Hello, may I know the exact switch you are using for decoupled mode? Is aquara H1 without neutral can work? Thk you

We are using the neutral switches and wireless switches. The non-neutral ones should also have decoupled mode!
mind teaching how you fade in and out the lights? mine just goes dark immediately after i switch it off

This depends on the brand and model of the smart bulb whether it will fade in and out itself.

We are using mostly smart lights from Gledopto. Ours is paired with Sonoff ZigBee hub.
