The Right Opinion: Why This KZreadr Can't Stop Eating - Amberlynn Reid | TRO
With the shift in cultural focus by many people, it appears that access to consumption and sedentary lifestyle has created what many view as an epidemic, particularly in countries like the US, where obesity has ballooned, there are many reasons why this might be considered. However, with the existence of fat people, comes the existence of fat KZreadrs.
Larger KZreadrs are nothing particularly new, you’re dealing with a platform that is based online, many people on the platform are not the most active, and they might even find appeal within their great weight.
However, from this transpired a new genre, this mainly revolved around weight loss, the reason should be fairly obvious: we as viewers, typically look for some element of ourselves in the creator, whether that’s something that we currently have, or something that we aspire to be, now when you have a weight loss KZreadr, this is someone that we should follow their journey with. We find inspiration in their progress, maybe you are an overweight person, but at the same time, you’re an introvert, or an agoraphobe, and don’t want to show your body at a Weight Watchers meeting, maybe they can give some advice on how to lose weight from the realms of the screen, although it may not be sufficient to make you lose weight on its own, they may provide inspiration, may provide you with that extra motivation, and then maybe you can document your journey online too, and inspire other people to come along with you.
The problem is that this vision doesn’t always happen, and sometimes people themselves aren’t strong enough to create that arc through their own volition, and thus the story changes very significantly, and because they’re documenting all on KZread, suddenly this augments into something much uglier, this is where we reach today’s creator, the creator known as Amberlynn Reid.
It was a late evening, I had worked on a video only to make the decision that actually, although I wasn’t a fan of the creator’s content, there wasn’t enough to make a video, so I decided to watching a few videos, I knew one of my fellow creators known as Danarchy had released a couple of uploads on these KZreadrs who were rather notorious for the handling of their weight on the platform and so, in my crisis I decided to sit down and watch them, and although he was a tad too insulting for my rather polite demeanour, he touched on some important points, that I definitely feel could be expanded on in a Right Opinion video, his content definitely does a great job at individually calling out the KZreadrs in question, but what is there beneath the surface? Well let’s talk about the KZreadr in question.
This is Amberlynn Reid, she is a 28 year old KZreadr from the United States of America, she recently become a target for a lot of KZreadrs, for a multitude of reasons, typically the cycle consists of her doing something, people reacting, people noting her rather counterproductive efforts to lose weight, people noting various other negative traits, such as her apparent compulsion to lie, and deceive her audience, and alleged manipulation of certain situations. Hell, there is a whole channel dedicated to exposing Amberlynn for her weight, that is some spicy commitment considering that many of these videos receive more views than Amber’s videos themselves.
Amberlynn appears to be a dubious character for more reasons than just her weight, and although I do consider many of them valid criticism, and would definitely implore people to look into that, that will typically be a secondary narrative of this video, because although I will definitely touch on that, there’s a lot of detail to these stories that I think you can only really see from the testimonies, and I don’t plan on addressing all of those. Though if you are interested, I’ll definitely reference and link some of the more controversial incidents sooner or later in the video, because there is a lot to cover.

I'm a recovering heroin addict. I've been clean for 1yr 7months and 6days!! A lot of what I have heard just in this video tells me that she has a terrible terrible addiction to food and possibly even lying. If she doesn't wise up and admit that she has a problem she could be dead in 10yrs or less in my opinion. I'm not feeding into her "victim" role that she plays very very well but I do believe that a lot of this is out of her hands (to an extent) I truly hope that someone around her will stage an intervention with a doctor and psychologist present so she is told what is really wrong with her, give her hope by telling her it's treatable and convince how serious and deadly this could be. I know people will tell me that im crazy for "sticking up for her" but I'm not, im just calling it how I see it.

At the time, I was 140 pounds. When school started up again several months later (had to go to an online school), I was almost 200 pounds, and luckily it stayed that way up until now. I've just had a really tough relationship with food. I've been trying my best to lose weight, and I recently hit a weight goal of mine. I'm now about 190. Ten pounds isn't a lot, it's actually rather small, but progress is progress. Edit: I am really happy with the amount of support I've gotten in this comment chain. I'm happy to report that as of now, I am 160 pounds, which is 40 pounds down from my starting weight and about 10 away from my goal. Edit 2: As of 12/30/21, I reached my first long term weight goal of 150 pounds! Edit 3: Today is July 18th, 2022. Yesterday, I stepped on the scale and the scale said 140.8, the weight I was in high school. I have dropped 60 pounds since this comment was first written. I know it's kind of weird to edit an old comment on a 3 year old video, but I wanted to say something in case there was somebody here who was curious about my weight journey. It was not easy, and I've been to hell and back many times, with so much pain and sacrifice on my shoulders. But it's so fucking worth it. For those of you who really want to make a change, start today. Start now. Because all it takes is one step forward to get a pace going. I believe in you. ❤️

UPDATE update: After a two year relationship with the aforementioned person she met online - a girl referred to as Jade/Faline/Wifey - they ALSO ended up dumping Amber before dropping her off in her hometown in Oklahoma. Amber has since been living alone for the past six months and mainly hanging out with her estranged family, though she’s been posting ENDLESS “thirst-trap” TikToks to try and lure in a new -caretaker- girlfriend. She hasn’t been successful in finding a new partner this time around though, probably because her narcissistic/toxic ways have been brought to light in recent years.🫠

I think it’s normal for weight to fluctuate a bit...however ALR is not a mere fluctuation. I would really like to weigh 160lb again but I haven’t been that small since Highschool. I hate the focus on weight. I was always "the chubby kid". I was told to starve myself at 8 years old. That changed my eating habits forever. I won't get into it but, as an adult, I now have such devistating weight fluctuation problem due to my diseases which I have no control over. The focus on weight means my mindset is worse when it goes up, and unhealthily better when it goes down, even though a sudden drop is a bad sign for my disease Edit: it's harder because my mother has a binge eating disorder which I was exposed to as a child. As a clash between my mom and grandmother, I ended up with my own eating disorders. Though that doesn't take away from the fact that if I stopped taking my meds I'd drop a dangerous amount of weight.

The focus on weight can also be really damaging if you are working out because muscles also have weight in and of themselves. If weight is the only measure you have, them it can easily feel like you aren't getting anywhere because the weight stays the same even if you are burning off fat. Measuring your waist is more reliable in that regard.

This is visually obvious.” This video seemed to be the only one I saw that was able to add to the conversation, offer a deeper analysis, and be real about WHY everyone hates her without resorting to fatphobic insults (because at the end of the day, the fact that she is a manipulative pathological liar is totally unrelated to her size).

As a recovering anorexic, I hear a lot of the excuses she makes as an echo of my own. A lot of my thought process was: "I'm in control! I can stop whenever I want!" "Once I get to this weight, I'll stop and turn my life around!" "Hey, I managed to gain back a lot of weight without feeling suicidal that one time, that means I can do it again!" And the truth was, I was just an addict. That feeling of control is fake; it twists you and makes you a different person, and eventually, all you can think about is food, pounds, calories, numbers. Can I fit my hand around my wrist? Do I have a thigh gap? Can I see my collarbones? And those thoughts are really, really hard to defeat. She's almost the exact same way, just the opposite, and I truly believe she has an eating disorder of some kind. I really feel for her, since I see a lot of the same behaviors I went through, but at the same time, she really needs to stop posting content and get help. Eating disorders are the deadliest mental illness in the world, and if she isn't treated, she could die.

As someone who is currently now on a weight loss journey! Cheat days are allowed! Never give yourself the mentality: I cannot eat this... YES YOU CAN EAT THAT DELICIOUS CUPCKAE BUT MAKE SURE TO NOT EAT 4 OF THEM! And I did that. And I am doing ok now, I just need to get back to working out when corona is over. Remember, it is ok to cheat, just eat in moderation and everything is going to be ok! And if you have trouble with eating in moderation, ask someone for help! If that does not work, then work out at least 3 or 4 days a week. Eating a little more calories allows your body to have that energy be used, use it in a work-out! Eat well, eat in moderation, don't forget to treat yourself! You got this! We got this! 🤜💪

  • @amy_ambrosio

    @amy_ambrosio

It'd be even better if we can erase that #cheat days# term from our lives, u don't have to cheat, don't put adjectives to food because it can be harmful to your relationship with it U wanted the cupcake? Fine, eat it, enjoy it, and keep up the good work. That way you don't get obsessed or too focused with focus, we eat to survive, is a part of living well, just that. U don't have to control 100% yourself to then wait for a day where u can lose control (I know "cheat day" might just mean to indulge yourself a bit with certain food or whatever, but I've also seen people who use that day to truly lose control of everything, which ain't good either) Unless u have an ED, then go to see a therapist and nutritionist specialized on that

The only thing good about ALR is that she still does create motivation. People watch her train wreck of a life and want to do something about themselves so they don't end up like her. I lost 108lbs (so far) because me and ALR had the same start weight (at one point) of 358lbs. My highest weight was 375lbs, now it's 267lbs. And I'm continuing to lose weight. And it happened because I didn't want to end up like her. She's not the weight she is because of her traumatic childhood (Same) or binge eating disorder (SAME) or lack of motivation (SAAAAME). She's the weight she is because she justifies her behavior by using those negative experiences in life as an excuse, which I did, too, to an extent, and no one but herself can save her from that. You don't need special diets or surgery to lose weight and become healthy. You need to care enough about yourself to change those bad habits negative experiences caused you to gain, and I don't think ALR wants to change. I hope one day she does before it's too late.

She has to admit she's powerless over her addiction and check into a clinic. She won't do that as long as she has enablers and free money. She's being made very comfortable in her addiction. If her enablers completely left her to live by herself without help, she'd have no choice but to get help. She probably started off thinner because she couldn't afford 6k+ in food every month

As someone with an eating disorder, her story is like a very extreme version of what I've been through, somewhat. That "89 lbs" thing hits hard. I restricted HEAVILY and lost 40 pounds, then it spiraled more into a b/p cycle, then just a binge cycle. I gained around 20 of those lbs back. And for MONTHS I told myself that gaining was okay bc "I once lost 40 lbs in two months, I can do it again"... I'm finally back on track now but that dark place when you're out of control with your overeating but dont want to bounce back bc of the fear of b/p cycles and "I can do it again" is scary... I am literally in fear of gaining more weight, I cannot IMAGINE gaining 200+ lbs :(

My brother has had a binging disorder his whole life. Trust me, it is very difficult. It's hard because I love him. I know what a great person he is. Food is an addiction and it becomes something more than a recourse for survival. He's one of the smartest, kindest, and funniest people I know and I admire him so much. He's lost fifty pounds in 2020 (meaning without a gym or exercise) and I couldn't be prouder. At the end of the day, it was his choice and motivation to work hard. He knows he still has a long way to go but as a family member, it's best to support him. Please don't scrutinize people for being overweight, trust me they do that enough to themselves. If you truly care, support them, and when they finally decide to take action, help them to stay accountable while showing unconditional support. There's a line between supporting and enabling; protecting and scrutinizing. It's difficult to ride that line but it's something you just have to do. Binging disorders are truly terrible and the best way to fight them is through compassion.

She has apparently and has been given medication for it. Although this same doctor said she's completely healthy but has sleep apnea in the same sentence so I it's either fake or a very crap doctor. She doesn't like going to the doctor because she can't fit in their chairs and stand for that long.

@@5uicideLeopard i know right? I myself have high blood pressure which I inherited from my mom and grandma- I had to take medicine maintenance everyday to stabilize it. I also can't eat certain foods, those that are high in fat and cholesterol. Amber should take better care of herself. She should try to be serious at dieting, at least for her own health. And she's such a pretty girl too.

I don’t think it was necessarily that the doctor said she was healthy. I’m pretty sure the doctor said that she didn’t have a certain health problem that she was concerned about and she interpreted that as “Since you don’t have THIS particular problem, you are completely healthy.” I’m sure she’s picking and choosing what she wants to hear from the doctor.

There are a few Amberlynn react channels, I think part of the reason they do better than Amberlynn herself is because people want to follow the mess that is Amberlynn Reid without giving her the views.

I have an eating disorder that makes me lose my appetite when stressed. After a very stressful year I wasnt eating but half a bowl of cereal, and then vomiting multiple times a day (usually just liquid). I got the majority of my calorie intake from soda, and when it decided to eat healthy and only drink diet soda I passed out, due to malnutrition. I have been trying to work on myself. But to get the results in want i need to have a plan. To set up my plan i have goals. 1 get to a health weight 2 I dont want to just have fat weight. I want muscle weight. 3 I cannot exercise (I don't have the calories to spend). 4 in need to eat regularly to increase my stomach size back to normal, such that i can have the calories to spend on exercise. Working backwards through the list I almost have a normal appetite again, and my energy levels are returning to normal. So soon I can start exercising. Moral of the story; If you want something you have to really want it. And you have to make AND FOLLOW that plan.

I feel like at this point in quarantine my brain has gotten completely clogged with mindless consumption of youtube videos. Though I have always had a tendency to spend every spare minute on the internet I feel like it's gotten to an especially bad point by now. I mean it's not really like even a moderate addiction, I could stop if I could genuinely come up with something substantially better to do, I think. But I just can't find the energy anymore. Every single day just drags until infinity, I tell myself that I'll finally start doing something productive, but hour after hour, I just cannot bring myself to. There's just no fucking break from anything anymore. I feel so trapped. Most of all probably inside my own head. Because I am crammed in my room all day (or rather night) and I just can't stand being alone anymore. But I can't really bare being with other people sometimes either. In video calls I often just feel exhausted from everything and I can't even not despise talking to people though I feel like I'm missing that so much. Any second I HAVE to spend with some kind of distraction though. I just can't be in my own head for any length of time at all anymore. It's just so bad, I just wanna get out. Will this ever end? I can't keep up with homework. I can't keep my room clean. Hell, I can't even really keep myself clean anymore. Life is suffering. And oh so pointless. Make it stop.

I’m so sorry…these days it’s hard not to fall into depression and feeling like there is no point to anything, especially during covid… I have had my days like this for sure… I still have them and then I am like you- back on KZread watching useless things… but I try to also see these times as a way to start learning new things… do you have windows in your room? Maybe get a plant or two.. ZZ plants are hardy and can withstand low light and mild periods of drought (in case you forget to water them lol) orchids are also pretty hardy and have gorgeous blooms .. to me there’s nothing more wonderful than seeing a plant put out new leaves and grow!! Do a puzzle … on internet explorer if you type internet explorer puzzle it will pull up a slew of puzzles you can do leaving you with a sense of accomplishment… try reading a new book… you can get some online for minimal cost.. try a coloring book .. it may seem childish but it can be really calming and therapeutic and there a host of ones out there for older teens /adults.. maybe try yoga !! Also calming and good to do even in small spaces
