Same here-I’m surprised so many slept on this show and so many more never even know about it.

This cancelled this show for a boring game of thrones prequel 🙆🏾‍♂️

I felt the same but the way things are going HBO Max might not be around soon to cancel good shows

I hope the writer at least releases the script for the rest of the show or something. I would not mid reading the rest of it in book form.

Seriously ? Who would buy a book if the last few chapters were missing ? Nobody ! Well "Raised by Wolves" is the last straw for me . I loved it passionately !..... I'm reaching the stage where I'm not going to watch a series unless all seasons are released and if other people decide the same as me then more streaming services will suffer (as they should) because they have made it clear over and over again that they do not care how much money or time or emotional energy in a series the viewer invests in watching ! #RenewRaisedByWolves

In the very first scene i thought "oh no, here we go again..."the message", but was pleasantly surprised to be wrong, Father wasn't just some "diversity" hire, he's the REAL deal, & Mother & Father are MEANT for each other!!

Got too real that’s why.

I will never forgive HBOMAX's cancellation of the unique series RAISED BY WOLVES created by Aaron Guzikowski and produced by Ridley Scott. Lamia interpreted by Amanda Collin father I will miss the children.

Agreed! I don’t follow what the thinking on this is after it’s already produced and the critical response both shows got.

because it is a money pit. and amazing show, amazing cast, and with a storyline that stimulates the imagination like no other show on tv for the last decade or 2... nominated for multiple awards further reinforces the merits of this show. But that is simply not a consideration when studios have to decide whether to renew or cancel the show the only consideration is money. Raised by Wolves is probably hella expensive to produce.. the amount of CGI and manpower it takes to transform South Africa into an alien landscape must be upwards of $10 million per ( with a budget of $ 80M (not counting "marketing expenses" ), HBO Max would have hoped to be getting Game of Thrones numbers..(spoiler--I don't recall RnW becoming a cultural phenomenon like GoT did.) it's a money pit; and to only get 8 episodes back for a budget approaching $100M, the decision would have been easy.

there ain't no other streaming service that would be foolish enough to take on such a money pit. that would want to spend that kind of money and get literally nothing back.

Dark Matter, Stargate Universe, and now Raised By Wolves. If it's really good sci fi they cancel it. Amazing. I'm still hoping Black Summer gets amother season, but that probably won't happen. We were really lucky that at least The Expanse found a new home and got to finish up.

You hit that list on the head! Though Universe was rocky at the start it grew on me towards the end. It seems like networks are not content with the viewership of these shows and also seem to look to expand past the actual fanbase of the show (which makes business sense I guess) but it always ends up setting unrealistic expectations and then they cancel them without an ending. Black Summer is an interesting take on Zombies and I’m hoping it doesn’t get axed.

@@THETONESHOW Totally agree. And another show I just remembered that I really enjoyed that got canceled was "Colony". Yeah, the last season wasn't as good as the earlier ones, but it was still a good show.

Few other tv scifi shows cancelled after 1-3 seasons(way too early) : Terminator - the Sarah Connor chronicles(2), Almost human(1), Travelers(3), Firefly(1) etc

Just started watching this show a week ago… really like it it sucks it got canceled… can anybody can recommend another good sci-fi series???

There are so many non airing shows like Altered Carbon and Dark on Netflix by now you surely heard about The Last of US and The GOT prequel but honestly it’s slim pickings for new shows. Midnight Mass was good on Netflix to and don’t sleep on FROM on Epics it’s actually good.

It's always the good shows that get cancelled.... And bullshit like Family Guy keeps on living.....

They cax'd it and I'll never watch anything again on MAX Other shows that were Canx'd like - Dominion, Farscape, Firefly, tDeVinci's Demons, Star Trek(s) I can't think of anymore right now. The list goes on and they always seem to be Sci-Fi shows. This sukz.

I agree Science Fiction seems to have a tough time on Max they literally removed Raised by Wolves and Westworld among others off the service as I just mentioned in my last vid. It’s not enough to cancel shows now they removing them too!

@@THETONESHOW Did they at least try to pitch it to Amazon Prime or another producer anywhere at any time? Or did they just shyt-can it? I enjoyed 'The Expanse" and remember how I felt when Sci-Fi channel x'd it. And, my happiness when Amazon picked it up and ran with it. They changed nothing & used the same script and became heroes.

I wonder if.... Since programming is now segegated to one platform only .Audiences must decide, which one to choose. There being sooooo many,, just to watch a potentially great show. Programs are loosing untold many viewers, because its just not economical, and or they dont even know they exist. Perhaps there arnt enough, 😷😷 viewers, contrary to the hype, at the end of the day. To make a show profitable...🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔

The acquisition/merger of "Max" (man I how I hate that name) just made Raised by Wolves one of the first casualties of the HBOMAX originals. Honestly, as far as individual show metrics it's nearly impossible to gauge on streaming since none of these services share numbers. There is also the question how do you judge "success" of a show on a streaming platform when commercial sales don't count into the equation. I was shocked that Netflix chose to discontinue Altered Carbon one of the best Sci-fi innovative shows in a while (up there with Raised by Wolves) but there justification is how many new subscribers is a show bringing in, not keeping. So aside from buzz, how do we judge shows like GOT, Last of US, we just have to believe HBO or rely on Nielson? it's interesting what you suggest though, maybe we have reached a point of saturation where there are not enough of certain genre fans on specific services to make certain shows a "success". Only shows with wide appeal will get past 2 seasons in such a scenario.

Not only did they cancel the show, but they purged the show from HBO Max library. Yet they make created shit shows like Velma. I’m going to sign right now.
