POWERFUL Motivation for Teachers| Jeremy Anderson
We’re nurturing a new generation that understands the importance of hard work, sacrifice, and serving others. In today’s world, many people are obsessed with wealth, appearance, and self-interest. However, we must teach the youth about true character and resilience. It’s about how we overcome challenges, grow, and continue to strive, even when facing our difficulties.
This was exemplified on a Monday when five inspiring women shared their stories, moving an audience of 1,400 to tears with their tales of grace, strength, perseverance, and bravery. Their message was clear: never give up.
I recall the unity and bravery displayed during 9/11, especially the first responders who rushed into danger to help others, showing true courage without hesitation. We’re here to assist those who are injured, but they faced danger because they wanted to help. They were prepared to find answers and even risk their lives for others. This is what it means to truly live. When we talk about sacrifice, it’s not just a concept; I’ve felt its impact. I’ve given my all to these children because I’ve done it myself. My wife and I left a high-paying job after we had just built a house and had our daughter. We stepped into uncertainty because I felt a calling within me. I could have stayed at my job and earned millions, or I could have gone out and changed millions of lives. I chose to impact lives over earning money.
You chose lives, not money. So today, my message is about balance: service, yes; solutions, yes; sacrifice, yes. But you can only serve, solve, and sacrifice if you’re looking after yourself. Jeremy Anderson’s talk today was so moving. I came here thinking I would never teach again, but his words have inspired me. They’ve reignited my passion to maybe stay in teaching and help these suffering children. When school starts, take the time to understand each student, like Sabrina and Patrick, and their challenges. Pay special attention to kids like Oscar. If he says everything is fine at home, but you feel it’s not, let him know you’re there for him. He might be surprised because he’s not used to someone caring. But after some time, he’ll open up.
Consider giving Oscar a small gift to show you’re proud of him. This act of kindness can change his behavior, and he might start helping you in class. It’s about showing you care, which helps you serve them better.
Jeremy’s speech today filled us with faith and hope. It reminded us to have a positive attitude every day and to love and support our students. Jeremy himself overcame many challenges because his teachers believed in him. They planted seeds of hope, not knowing if they would grow, but they did. And now, Jeremy inspires others worldwide.

We’re told to believe in ourselves and that we can do anything. Even if the world gets tough, we’ll continue to encourage and love our students, helping them become the great individuals they’re meant to be. This is more than teaching; it’s about making a real difference in their lives.
