Someone once explained it to me like this, Eagle is equivalent to Newport/Laguna/Huntington Beach in California except you replace all the beaches with other water features while Meridian is like Irvine. So if you lived in an area like Irvine in California and if you are moving to Idaho, might as well go to Eagle.

Welcome to our world, we also use to have “welcome to California, now go home” bumper stickers in the late 70s early 80s, we were invaded by USA liberals and open hand collectivists from around the world

I think my comment relates to the video as much as CA and Eagle relate to each other. You trying to sell out the state to rich CA ppl making it so I can never own a home. The houses in Eagle are like 750k+ now. How is a person in their mid 30s with 50k+ of college loans ever supposed to afford that. Nobody can compete with these rich CA ppl who bought there houses for 100k and are now selling them for a million. Get this boomer money out of here. The boomers sold out the country and the younger classes of people will now never be able to afford a home. Will be renters forever. Unless they inherit it via the birth lottery of having wealthy parents.

I don’t believe in this mentality! Things have gotten expensive, but there is always a way and that’s why starting off with a first time home that is much cheaper is always the first goal. I’m not selling out the state. Simply providing information!

You answered your own question with the description of Eagle: very beautiful, river, greenbelt, low housing prices. Need say no more. Californian's are like any other American, looking for a the best place to live.

I was there a week ago. It is not something I would move to, as I would rather not have neighbors so very close. Manicured lawns, HOA’s, rules, I will leave that beauty for someone else.

Yeah that’s an appeal of Eagle for some people, thankfully we have plenty of options with no HoA and no neighbors. Are you moving to the area?

@@movingtoboiseid Likely depending what we can find, based on some very specific criteria. I have made four trips to the Boise/Treasure Valley area, and a couple up to North Idaho as well. It is indeed a beautiful area, people have been very friendly and courteous, the gun shops plentiful, and food prices a tad lower than other areas we have traveled to. About the only two aspects I have found to be negative (IMO) are the explosive growth of housing tracts that have taken out LOTS of former agricultural areas, and the traffic that goes with the rapid rise in population. That is to be expected however, as blue states have done a remarkable job in the expulsion of their traditionally conservative residents for a host of reasons. As low inventory is an issue, finding something suitable is a slow process. I am currently in an area that is a very short drive inland from the Pacific Ocean, have a small acreage directly adjacent to a large National park to which we ride our horses, within a few miles of most all amenities, no HOA, very low (as compared to neighboring properties) property taxes, mild weather, no road salt in the “winter”, and very quiet dark roadways at night. It is hard to beat. I am more than willing to trade that due to politics and other costs that are rising however.

Rich (or who identify with the rich.) Conservative. Christian. Republican. White. That is every single Californian I know who moved to Eagle. (Little California) why they chose it? Because it's a nice place. If you can afford it.

@@movingtoboiseid I live in east Idaho my entire life. The number of west coasters and a scattering of other states' residents moving here has all the younger locals priced totally out of the real estate market though. One side benefit of all this is the wonderful traffic congestion we now find such a paradise in..... 🤣👎
