I believe it was he need to do something to stop Hett but he should have tried harder to redeem him. Obi-wan should reminded Hett of his path as Jedi and convince to help protected the Larrs farm that have a chance to set things right for the Skywalker bloodline if only Obi-wan, much like Yoda, was not so closed minded that a person cannot return to the light.

Obi-Wan did the right thing in sparing A'Sharad Hett's life. When he dueled Hett, he wasn't yet a Sith or even a Dark Jedi. A'Sharad really hasn't done anything that his father, Sharad, hadn't done earlier. Killing him would not have been an appropriate response for a Jedi.

Oh come on Ben, I doubt Hett would've turned Luke in if Ben told him the truth. He might have agreed to leave their specific farm alone and become once-in-a-while allies. Hell, learning there was hope for the galaxy might've motivated him to try to negotiate with the rest of Tatooine. I'm sure Hett would take any opportunity to get revenge on the Empire for Order 66 too. Instead he takes away Hett's home and life with his tribe, *like an asshole*. Obi-Wan isn't called the Negotiator for nothing.

do we know what A'Sharad hetts thought once he found out why Obi-Wan was fighting so brutaly on tatooine? Also, if the Jedi Order had been a thing still at that time, Would Obi-Wans acts in that duel with using the force to destroy an arm of his opponent be enough to have Obi-Wan kicked out of the order/sent to the Jedi Prison on that secret planet for rehabilitation? because i higely doubt that the force techniqe Obi-Wan used there would have been a Technice the Jedi are allowed to use aigenst living beeings, and it dosent even realy sound like a lightside techncie but more a technice from the dark side like force rupter or something simular to that

Congrats Obi Wan, you created one of the two most significant Sith Lords since the death of Darth Sidious in the EU. This is doubly awful when you know that the Tuskens are violent towards non-Tuskens because of their experience with the Rakata's Infinite Empire millennia ago. Tattooine is their rightful home that keeps getting invaded and exploited.

So, I'm going to look dumb, but at least when a lightsaber removes a limb, it cauterizes the wound. If Chewbacca just tore one's arms off, as some Wookiees are reputed to do, I'd imagine the victim would just bleed out, and quickly. Can't imagine that Kenobi Forcing it off would be much different? Such losses are also something that IRL motivate some sad people to end their own lives, so while it could be seen as yet another mistake, by Kenobi, to take everything from someone, and then abandon them to misery, the fact that A'Sharad not only survived his physical injury, but also his anguish, is surprising, as is the fact that Kenobi likely let Hett keep his lightsabers, which he still had later, as Darth Krayt. It does make me wonder how long he goes on as a one-armed man? He eventually gets a Yuuzhon Vong graft to replace it, but I don't recall him having a mechanical arm, and then THAT being replaced by Vong-form, though they do hate tech, so maybe? Definitely anticipating Darth Krayt videos! Will love to dip into Legacy Era, again! 😊

What Ben Kenobi did was unbecoming of a Jedi, if he had done it unprovoked and didn't know the Tuskan traditions. Ben understood just how dangerous a Jedi could be if they were allowed to act with impunity he had fought Anakin and saw how far that path can take someone. I do think however he should of killed Hett it wouldn't be striking down an unarmed combatant but a means to give said combatant a merciful death.

Obi Wan, at this point in his history has already shown a pattern of defying the ways of the Jedi Order that he holds so dear. Do I think it was right for him to do this? Well, it won him the duel in a way that prevented the other Tusken's from attacking him afterward. If he'd simply killed his former comrade, they might have swarmed him in rage, but disgracing him... that ended it. So was it right? My gut says no. Was it necessary? Yes. Sometimes you have to do what is necessary over what is right, and it doesn't surprise me remotely that he chose to do that here regardless of his hypocritical preaching of the Jedi Code when he violated it so regularly and judged others so harshly when they violated it in other ways.

I wonder if had it been Yoda if HE would understood an advise Ben to NOT feel too bad about it or told Kenobi MAYBE disgrace would been a bit much. How you end a fight does not matter only that you do.honestly for him it’s brutal but overall both in the real world and star wars overall it’s pretty tame especially considering he left darth Vader to literally burn to death although it never came to pass.never forget that sometimes you must be blunt or brutal even occasionally cruel to do the right thing if an enemy will hold nothing back you too must do the same or you risk everything and frankly he let him live good intentions but ultimately a bad idea in any real conflict.in a real fight or conflict its over when the enemy and existence can not return not when the battles end as today victims will become tomorrow’s butchers its in all history and it is an uncomfortable fact of life.

Hard to say. Cause a force wielding warlord with Jedi training does sound WAY too dangerous to be allowed to continue. Kenobe no longer has an army, nor the backing of the people on that world. I think this was his only chance to stop genocide. Much like with Anakin this turn to the dark happened because of his ties. So I think Obi Wan was really hoping that A'Sharad would return to the light else where in the galaxy.

i will just say it at what point does letting someone live become a crime against humanity or life?the joker for example or say anyone really there needs to be some kinda law in fiction and real life because there comes a point it’s actually stupid and kinda amazing yet it is used way to often in everything in my opinion.

Kind of a dick move saying all of the Jedi should have fought their way out of order 66… they were caught by surprise… this is like saying Julius Ceasar should have fought his way out of being assassinated by his friends 😂 “Eh tu Bly (brutus)”

I've always found Kenobi to be the least interesting major character in SW.

Obi-Wan should have said « creating powerful sith lords is my specialty » Even tho Maul was no more a sith after his demised, he sure came back stronger because of Kenobi. Without Obi-Wan, Vader would not have been the same nor A’sharad hett.. I say this and still think he’s also a very great jedi, kinda victim of his own order arrongance

Hett is the best choice for a future canon villain, in my opinion, but not making him a Sith, but a new order trying to outdo the Sith and improve on them. And I'm not necessarily saying copying the character and making it Hett himself, but using his story as a blueprint

I have a great interest in exploring the character of Darth Revan. In my opinion, he is one of the most underrated Sith Lords in the Star Wars universe and I believe he deserves more recognition for his power, intelligence, and strategic abilities.
