what's sad is that Rajivari's viewpoint was correct in many regards, even if twisted to the extreme by the traumas of war.

One mistake Nalen was not a Jedi when he found the fount of Rajivari he was just a force sensitive who was living on tython but he was trained as a Jedi after the padawan stopped him.

So why didn't you use any chips from the Old Republic MMO? Like the conversation with Rajivari, or of the recordings of his students reading his laws?

Here’s an interesting “what if” scenario: if the forge was destroyed leaving the ancient Jedi weapons and therefore military strength of their order weakened, they probably would have enacted a more peaceful and philosophical approach to the force as far as their efforts to protect and pacify the galaxy. Would it have been crushed? Or, would the remaining Jedi have gone the Qui Gonn route and embraced the living force?

The best of intentions are almost always corrupted completely.

I think he was the earliest version of Ajunta Pall he was misguided though understandable, if in life he return to the Jedi he would have help them saved more of their fallen brothers and sisters. Though if he was suggestful he would greated a different Darkside Order that might have been far worse then the Sith or even the Infinite Empire.

Rajavari was one of the favorite things about the Councilar Story in SWtOR

In my mind he was a great man forced down a dark path . In many ways it would have been better if the Jeti had listened to him more closely . His grey areas of thought held much wisdom

This is very disturbing. It's glad Naylin was stopped. Rajivari was saved and redeemed at the end. Which is very good. He wasn't evil. Not truly. He is good man. This is tragic story. I would like to know more about him.May the Force be with you too always😀

this dark jedi seems like he would have been insanely powerful if he had been able to reach more of his goals, a lot of what if situations come to mind.

Scientist no, Sith Alchemist and sorcerers? Yes, most force abilities that has been created or discovered was discovered by Sith (or their Jedi counterparts) who studied and analyzed the force more deeply than their fellow kin, some would never discover anything new but would gain a deeper perspective into the force, while others would be granted visions of how to perform a certain ritual or how to use a certain force abiltiy, while others was granted visions of how to create certain abilities.

There's always talk of going to the dark side. And only occasionally do people go the other way? Does the Light side not cleanse the corruption in more? but it's just our nature to focus more on the negative?

Look at it this way, how many people do you know who becomes a monk/priest of certain religions and lives a life without posessions and swears to live a life with celibacy, and how many people live their life freely and acts on their emotions, desires, and ambitions? Thats right its most people, while true like in real life, digging too deep into your desires usually blinds you and corrupts you, and vice versa in star wars, so the dark side can corrupt you in certain ways but those who learns to give in to their emotions but control them and use them rather than having them use you is the most common way of living life.

According to George Lucas, yeah you are correct. You needed to achieve inner peace to become one, something that is antithetical to the Dark Side's nature... Complete with the opening line of the Sith Code being "Peace is a lie". When Disney breaks the rules, they get the criticism they deserve, but when the Expanded Universe does it they get off Scott free. The bit with Force Ghosts isn't even the only example. Lucas's intended reaction to the prequels is that "the Jedi's stance on romance and attachment is entirely justified. Anakin's refusal to let go caused everything bad that happened in his life." But EU writers and their fans went the exact opposite direction, trying to invent as many reasons why Lucas's thoughts on the prequels are "wrong" by having as many of their character break that rule as many times as they possibly can... Solely because those writers wholeheartedly believe that a romantic hero is inherently better than a chaste one, and that love stories and "power of friendship" plots are inherently better than solo adventure stories.

The worst part though is that it isn't even unique to Star Wars fans when it comes to "original author's intentions vs audience interpretation". Look at Superman for example. He was THE selfless, free and idealistic hero. Now... Not so much. And then there's Batman, whose whole thing (aside from "I am Vengeance I am the Night") was that he was the most human Superhero DC had to offer... But then he got completely batshit insane (pun intended) to the point of surviving a fall from orbit in JUST the Batsuit.

Nope dark side users can also do this, its easier for Jedi and lightside users but Sith and dark side users can also do it, though they tend to do something slightly different which is becoming more of a lingering spirit than a full on ghost.
