It feels like it's almost entirely been hollowed out, take Ireland for example....is it possible for any government here to tackle properly the housing crisis and allow people a reasonably priced roof over their heads ( which we fought for historically - the 3 F's - fair rent/free sale/fixity of tenure)....I would say it's not as the powers they are lined up against, a mixture foreign investment firms/property developers/blackrock/vanguard/CCP investment/vast multinational companies are all too powerful to tackle....and will just threaten to withdraw for one, or just leave property empty - which they also do, so the state makes the right noises now and again about the market and nothing happens.....same for decades

The state, and most governments are controlled by giant corporations, NGO'S, banks, giant investment firms, and bureaucrats. There are no conspiracy theories. There are only conspiracies. We're the same age, and have lived before this technology/computerized age. It's easy to see the gaslighting and understand how things work.

Since it was not mentioned, "gaslighting" comes from the movie "Gaslight." In old houses with gas lighting, when it is turned on in one room it dims in the others. In the movie, the wife keeps seeing this when no one is home, but how could it be happening if she is alone? Things turn up missing and are later found in her possession, without her remembering taking them. ***Spoiler Alert*** It is all an elaborate plan wherein the husband tries to convince his wife she is insane, so he can steal the family jewels. It's from the 40's and stars Ingrid Bergman as the wife. I haven't seen it in so long I can't remember the ending...

I really really enjoyed this. Thanks Alan. It's my opinion that Black Metal is still relevant but the thing to rail against is not Christianity but the new nameless darkness that silences people and can easily ruin them for questioning a narrative structure that makes no sense.

I wonder if a lot of this crazy making is purely internet based. I tend not to see it except online. Then again it's possible that because I'm over 40, have a job that is (mostly, but not entirely) exempt from force-fed PC culture, I live in a little bubble world and can tune it out when I feel like it. As my son gets older and goes to school it might become more acute in my life.
