I'm not sure if this helps, but I've found releasing shorter episodes (20-30 minutes max) has brought me more listeners. People only have so much time in the day and a two-hour podcast will be very off-putting. A shorter one means a better chance of consumption.

This is true, when I consider listening to a new podcast, is if it's more than an hr, I probably pass. However it also depends on what kind of podcast, if it's deep conversation, an hr is the sweet spot for me.

    5. Be specific with your focus (Don’t be too broad) 4. Don’t compare yourself (it’s you verses you yesterday) 3. You don’t market your podcast (build your audience. Clear niche & message. Build relationships. Be a guest on other podcasts. 2. Define what a successful podcast means to you. (What are your goals for your podcast? Show up consistently) 1. They give up too fast. (Be patient. Market yourself & be consistent) Thanks for this ⚜️

I’m so GRATEFUL that this video hit my feed this morning. My podcast is just starting to ever so slightly uptick. My niche is an audience of people who, like me, have someone else they care for who is severely disabled or medically fragile. Like special needs parents, caregivers of elders etc. I am a Mom to a 24 year old disabled son, his condition turned our lives completely upside down. This is the inside journey on how to adapt. So I named the podcast “The Adapted Life”. I think the biggest challenge I face is trying to stay consistent, which in itself is antithesis to the life of a caregiver of severely disabled medically fragile person. So it is. My intuition led me back to tips and strategies from exactly guides like you Pat. I love doing what I do. I am truly on a journey to rediscovering myself after 20 plus years of extreme adversity. Life is beautiful. Joy is possible, even when your child is born with a deformed brain. ❤️❤️❤️🙏Thanks for this video!!

We just started our podcast a few months ago. It's all about whiskey/bourbon/scotch/etc reviews, cocktails and rock video! So far it's audio only with Shorts/Reels for video content. We keep the subject matter pretty niche, we don't really compare other than to inspire ourselves, we don't plan on giving up, but the other points in your video hit closer to home. We do a little bit of marketing through fb/ig ads, and we haven't ever talked about what "success" looks like for our podcast. No idea what that looks like, so we have no idea how to reach that mark! Thanks for the vifeo!

love this info, I have just started a podcast called "Minds of a epileptic" using a lot of your techniques it is a solo podcast it is my first ever podcast. i do worry how it will go being a person that suffers from epilepsy myself, its time we educate society better. because the ignorance and steriotyping towards it is still unbelievable even in 2022. im unsure how far i can get it with it being i choose to keep it unscripted and real. from a mind of a epile[tic. but with me sounding druged up because of my meds. i worry no one will care. or listen much. as i will have trouble marketing myself. and miss haps will happen.

@@furiousrobinson I think it comes down taking the leap. My biggest issue was getting in my own head. I bought all types of equipment and didn’t use it. I just had to get my head right and have a bit of confidence.

Im rebooting my podcast and I knew exactly why it didn’t work the first time. The sad part I gave up because I did t want an employer to find out about my life. I stopped at 1.15 in 2021 and opened and had 2.12 recently now something tells me to keep moving forward

Thank you! I've just started my podcast for teachers and their mental health (Teacher Mindset with Marisa E) and I really want to interview teachers because I feel that this would be the best way to gain listeners. I love Sophie Turner's advice. Even though I am only starting out - everyone had to start somewhere and my ultimate goal is to add value to the lives of teachers (I taught for 20 years) because it's really tough for them right now! I feel like your video showed up at the right time. :)

Great content. Sharp video and audio. What hardware (camera, mic, lighting etc) and software do you use to get this amazing end product? Total beginner here so I know there’s a lot of learning to be done in achieving this quality.
