Fun fact: among other songs, "Door" never made it into the game because, as C418 puts it, it was too "happy-shmappy Disney" for Minecraft and for the feel he was going for. He wanted to make the music of Minecraft as fundamentally different from game music of the time as possible, without all the upbeat chiptune and such.

This. Usually musician reactors only do one track per video, and sometimes it takes ages for them to react to another track from the same game, if they ever do it at all. So seeing this guy doing full OSTs is amazing.

I’m not sure how many people notice this, but if you pay close attention, you’ll notice how the first three songs (Key, Door, and Subwoofer Lullaby) don’t cut off and then start again. These songs are actually meant to be played hand in hand with each other, so they’re technically all one giant song split into three parts.

Door is my very favorite song of Minecraft Alpha, and for one, I know why. Back when Volume Alpha was all the game had, you heard Key and Door before any other songs. When you first launched the game up, Key was the first menu music to play. You can hear some of the motifs of it, once you hear the song that plays the first time you made a world: in Door. You get the key coming in, and the world you make is the door you unlocked with it. Utterly fantastic music design. No idea if it still works like that now.

Bro I love Sweden so much! It is so nostalgic as I remember it was the first Minecraft song I ever heard about 5 years ago. I was on top of a sharp hill at night with nothing in my inventory, just waiting for sunrise. Minecraft was the first game I ever played and dang I still play it to this day.

You should listen to all of minecraft's ost, like volume beta, aquatic, nether, and the new Caves and Cliffs soundtrack. I would recommend listening to volume beta on its own, then aquatic and nether together (since they both have 3 songs), then listen to the Caves and Cliffs ost (10 tracks). Also something to note, the nether and caves and Cliffs ost have 2 new composers named Lena Raine and Kumi Tanioka

I think dry hands refers to the way the piece is played. There is pedal but it’s choppy and staccato, while in wet hands it is very legato and the notes flow like if your hands were slippery. Or maybe like flowing water.

It has a mixture of both happy and emotional music, and is in general a game a lot of people felt a lot of emotions with, because of teh writing and the excellent soundtrack.

This Soundtrack, It is not my favorite of all time, but it's the only soundtrack that manages to make me get all chilly whenever the great harmony drops on the so many themes. My favorite Soundtrack of all time, even if not popular or commonly mentioned, it is the Pac-Man World 3 Soundtrack which i hope you someday do a live reaction to because, I Feel it is one soundtrack everyone should hear to feel some hidden emotions. For such a negatively received game when it came out, the soundtrack is stellar and has managed to take a tear out of my eyes more than once. I Really hope you share it live with the people who love your reactions as I do!

Minecraft may have the most..."reflective" soundtrack in all of Video games. In that not only does each song sound hella good, they each stand as a reflection of Minecraft itself. The faint pitter-patter of the pianos and strings almost echo as if along with the faint steps of someone playing the game in single player. The seeming simplicity that each song starts as, before evolving into much more complex and intricate pieces (and even how the songs tend to build into each other) is emblematic of how Minecraft and its mechanics are simple to start with, but have layers and layers of complexion under the surface (much like the caves). And each song building into the more complex parts is such a clever representation of the game's own building system. You start out with nothing but resources, and eventually create something more. The whole game is "building something out of nothing", much like the game's own development process. With it starting out as a simple little indie game, before becoming the highest-grossing single video game of all time. Even the creepier tracks reflect how Minecraft can be pretty spooky at times. It's wonderful.
