Nah, Volk definitely has a higher fight IQ. You don't go 3-0 against Max w/o it. Volk knows things are stupid, but he ignores them (i.e., Islam rematch & Ilia fight). Max is just more patient

I never understood the whole "you lost, you're done" thing is MMA and boxing. Most of those guys who's career are apparently over now...keep fighting. Volk clearly won every fight if you understand how they’re scored. Second fight felt like max won because the 2 rounds he won were very dominant and clear while volks 3 rounds were super close and edged out. The second fight really showed the flaws with the UFC scoring criteria

Im a mma mathmatician I picked illia over Volk and Max over Justin and Max over Illia

Styles make fights but, Volkanovski is just a superior fighter than Holloway.

Max clearly won the first fight. You can't win with leg kicks that don't even slow down the opponent. Max won that first fight. But looking back, they simply created a monster. Max is now cleaning house in 2 divisions. Just watch. He will smoke chicken shit Illia and then grab the 155 strap after.

I honestly think VOlk beats Illia 9/10 the problem was he was too hesitant to throw hands incase of been countered which left him open all night, we see it all the time a fighter gets knocked out they jump straight back in and lose never gave himself a chance to recover

I disagree, styles make fights and Volk has a ton of holes in his standup that illias style is very good on capitalizing on. That bad habit volk has of throwing 1-2 punches then backing up with his hands down doesn’t work against smaller opponents, same way mendes caught him. I’m sure there’s a timeline where volk fights a perfect fight and wins a decision but it’s just more likely that illia squares him up against the cage and let’s a long combination go and sleeps him
