    The guy you were talking about is Steve Cunningham, he was originally a cruiserweight. Fury said he was probably his toughest opponent, some people claim that arguably Steve should have been given a victory that night. I urge everyone to watch that fight. Watched a recent interview with Steve, he's retired from boxing, his son either a pro now, or about to turn pro. Steve also said that he himself is interested to try bare knuckle! Would be interesting EDIT: as Timurjack rightfully corrected me in a response, Cunningham was KO'd, but prior to that he did give Fury a lot of trouble. Memory failed me, I meant to refer to opinion of some people, including Cunningham himself, that Fury was beyond dirty and should have been disqualified.

    Very hard to pick one over the other. One minute I think Usyk, then I think Fury will be too much for him. The thing is here. people say Usyk has already beaten AJ two times and he's also a tall boxer with a bigger punch than Fury. But AJ just doesn't have the same ring movement as Fury to keep his opponents at distance and also use it to confuse and rough up his oppenents, and that better "movement" combined with Fury's size could be too much for Usyk to deal with. But then again, if goes the full distance Usyk has shown he never slows down and that could be too much for Fury when passing round 7, if Fury starts to slow down and tire more giving Usyk the chance to get inside land his punches. I do think if Fury has not won by round 7, then it'll be a points win to Usyk. The biggest issue for Fury is that he could get tied fighting Usyk, who could well take over from around round 7.

    I think you mean Otto Wallin a short south paw who gave Fury big problems...cut him bad over the eye with a clean punch and i thought beat Fury. Usyk is a south paw who is levels above Wallin. I think Fury will try to stay away from Usyk and try boxing from range early rounds...when that doesn't work he will bring in the dirty tactics that the referee will allow (same ref that sat back and watched Jeff Horn head butt, elbow, low blow and hold and hit Pacquiao)....and when that doesn't work Fury will tire from the relentless pace Usyk will make him work at...then Usyk will break him down and put a beating on him. Usyk by points or even late stoppage

    I think looking at the weight loss Fury is coming into this fight with. He obviously knows if the fight goes the full distance Usyk is going to be a real serious problem for him to deal with, so he has lost the weight to try last the full distance better, if he can't manage to take out Usyk by the middle rounds. But in Fury's last couple of fights, he has shown (even against) Wilder that he starts to slow and tie from around the 7th round. And that when Usyk tends to step things up a gear

    Styles make fights as well, Chad Mendes was able to drop Volk, short power punchers are bad matchup for Volk. Volk uses his short height to his advantage vs taller opponents so he can use the angles and duck to dodge the punches easier, since he also has very good wrestling and grappling, he doesn't struggle with bigger opponents as well. But Topuria has enough wrestling to keep the fight standing and he is a very skilled short power puncher, Topuria's striking is much better than Chad Mendes's striking. Although I agree Volk looked a little bit different in that fight, both due to his last fight was a KO loss and also 35 years old curse might be a factor as well.

    How Usik can beat Tyson. Usik has a style developed by Anatoly Lomachenko for his son, that is, Loma is smaller than everyone else and he needs a style that is convenient for fighting tall opponents, and Loma’s father also instilled in Usik the same style for larger opponents. Therefore, we saw how Usyk declassed Joshua, who is 198 tall and with long arms, can also pass with Fury. Usyk breaks into his range and hits Tyson, as we saw that Usyk is far from a baby and is even stronger compared to Fury. This is the kind of fight that can take on an unexpected character, as was the case in the Crowe Spence fight, such declasse was unexpected. The same thing here, I won’t be surprised if Usik knocks down Tyson, my favorite is Usik 1 to 3 or 1 to 4 This guy knows how to win, as Teddy Atlas said, he really does + Usik has emotional stability My prediction: Fury will take 2-4 rounds and Usik will take the rest

    I take it from his ear that Volkanovski is a UFC fighter. Good understanding of boxing and breakdown of Fury v Usyk though I have to disagree with his reasoning for picking Tyson to win. Usyk beat both Joshua (6'6'') and Dubois (6'5") so height and reach is not issue for him. I think Fury has the bigger issue in that he has not much experience in dealing with highly agile and elusive fighters. The only fighters that Fury has faced who were not standing right in front of him were Wilder and a 39yo Klitschko. I can't imagine what Fury will do when he starts throwing punches at a target that is no longer there.

    Immortality for Fury, coming up! Greatest ever, the King! Only one thing left after (after the re-match, mind) and that is to put away the 'gym body'. He'll beat the 'gym body' once, and then he'll let the belts simply fade away (he'll not do a rematch for that). That'll be the cherry on the history. No-one will take the linear off've him. 🔥🔥🔥 After, he'll become a beer brewer, & ground a major brand. 😄

    Usyk by late stoppage or DQ. I can see Fury getting DQ when the fight runs away from him and he realises that he cannot KO Usyk. I can't see his gas holding up against Usyk, who picks up the tempo and volume in the late rounds. Fury's gas tank hasn't been as good as it was before he made the move to Kronk. Even with the weight loss, I don't see him lasting 12 rounds because he's gonna have to be aggressive when he cannot outbox Usyk, which means he's gonna commit more to power punches and upping the volume, which makes him susceptible to being countered because some of his fundamentals (like keeping the opposite hand up when throwing) are poor, and also tiring quicker.

  • @grumpydriver

    @grumpydriver

    20 күн бұрын

    Pretty much what I think. I think if Fury is going to win this, then he needs to win it by around 6 or 7th round maximum. Otherwise he'll tire and Uysk will just take over the fight from then winning on points, or possibly even stop Fury. Uysk will not give Fury time to catch his breath the way he fights always looking for his combos, and even ups the temp in the latter rounds. So by around the 6 or 7th round I reckon Fury will start to slow down and become a much easier target for Usyk

    Usyk needs to work at mid range. If he's too far out he'll be on the end of Furys jab, if he's too far in he'll get caught up in the clinch and Fury is good at using his weight and his inside work is better than any other fighter Usyk has fought. So if Usyk can stay at mid range then Furys in for a tough night. Usyk is a rythm fighter, if Fury can put Usyk off his rythm then Usyk is in for a tough night. Neither Fury or Usyk has faced anyone like each other before. I'm hoping for a great fight with strategy adjustments through the fight and i expect to see them both use every trick in the book to pull out the win lol.

    I've been a boxer since I was 17 (nearly 30 years) & you missed a key point on heavyweight boxing: they don't like fighting southpaws. Personally I never lost to one but that's because I'm a left foot dominant orthodox boxer. That being said, it's my opinion Fury hates southpaws with a passion & that's because he's a 1-2 fighter. If he's to win he'll have to do some side-stepping & uppercuts. Question is can he move faster than Usyk? I say no.

    I go with Volk here. Fury is way too big, skilled and has a very high ring IQ. To judge Fury by his fight with Nganou is stupid, that was a show fight designed to make money. We don't even know what were the terms (Nganou didn't want to fight Fury but later he changed his mind). Nganou is no boxer he was put to sleep in 2 minutes by Joshua. Usyk has massive experience in amateur professional boxing which helps a lot, but he is basically a cruiserweight which pumped himself up to super heavyweight. In the process he lost a lot of stamina and agility and didn't gain much power as seen in his 2nd fight with Joshua (he had a very poor performance then).

    @The_Reality_Filter , not true, Makhachev fought 3 times in 2021, 2 times in 2022, and again 2 times in 2023. He is walking around 183 lbs, Makhachev could potentially bulk up for Welterweight since he has the size for it, but right now he is a natural Lightweight. Also Volk himself said before he is heavier than Lightweight Dan during the fight day.

    Tyson Fury created this belief in many people that he's invincible and almost like a god. But God humbled him and showed him that he's just a man like the rest of us. It's interesting how sometimes our idols or heroes can be brought down to reality just like what happened to Alexander Volkanovski. Fury is a coward, especially when you saw fear and the child in him during the knockout by Usyk and even fold himself not wanting to fight anymore. It's important to remember that we all have our strengths and weaknesses, and even the strongest can have moments of vulnerability. But not with the fury family and that’s why God will continue punishing them until they change their ways and people should wake up and see how fraud some of these idols are in this generation.
