Why I Live with 6 Chinese People in Japan

Why does an American live in Japan with 6 Chinese people? Good question. People around Japan are rather surprised when they see me traveling around with a group of Chinese immigrants. This is the story of how we ended up living together here in Tokyo and how we like to travel around Japan.

This is something I'm always so concerned about with popular public figures and just people who post online in general. Even if you're not giving out a specific address, if you're showing pictures/video footage of the area you live in and/or talking about it in even minor details, people can still figure out where you live. Please be careful, your safety is far more important than your followers and any content they may want about your life.

It's sad people mistake culture appropriation to culture appreciation. 😔 I hope all these toxic ignorant voices get drowned out.

I admire you more and more An Ming, you are a very brave and levelheaded young woman. Going alone to China, Enrolling in difficult classes, teaching, moving to Japan, making sure you meet new people, making KZread videos (with aplomb) and now taking all the virus complications in stride (seemingly at least, I guess you get a little scared sometimes, but that don't show on your channel). Your parents must be very proud of you, and said levelheadedness means they can feel reasonably sure you will be safe, I'm sure they are very grateful for that, especially in these times. Unmarried people unable to afford a single home is not what I mean, I'm saying that once people can afford a home they tend to make that choice. Unless you mean that in Europe multiple married couples who otherwise could afford their own place choose to live together. The reality of moving for work and differences in income etc make this something that is hard to imagine working the fact that we tend to drift apart is unfortunate and I think is ultimately harmful.

I always thought when I moved to another country that I would live alone. That's because, I have bad social anxiety. I'm comfortable being alone because the only people I talk to(when they are here) are my mom and my brother. Most of the time I'm by myself. You make living with people sound fun. Though I get scared of not being liked. I really like your videos, I wish you spoke Korean because I am learning Korean first. Your videos are in a style I enjoy. There aren't many foreign Korean speaking vloggers that I know of.🤟💜

@@bobp5523 I agree - I'm not a huge fan of cow tongue, but it is OK. (ish) OTOH, I've never had cow tongue in Japan and I'm pretty sure it would taste nothing like I've ever experienced. The difference is probably like that between a tuna from a tin and sashimi tuna. Same fish but totally different experiences. Another reason to go to Sendai, I guess.
