i think what people dont understand about attending a community college is that youre stuck at home. theres less opportunities and you KNOW there are kids your age doing things you wish you could. some people dont like being at home or have family issues they want to escape. its hard to make friends at a CC and it's basically high school 2.0. it is terrible. sure you get to save lots and possibly not be in debt later on in life, but there are lots of cons and disadvantages w CC. getting an education is a lucky thing to have, of course, but theres so much more deep down and CC sometimes just suck. you cant do much and some classmates and professors dont help you at all or downgrade you because they either feel like it or its who they are. honestly always tell urself 1 or 2 more years. u can do it >)

The point of going to college is not for the "college experience". You go for an education. You don't even need to go to college to go to a party on the weekend. Employers don't hire people based on where they went to school and not based on weather or not they had the "college experience". Completely negligible. Just keep grinding and get that degree.

Thank god I'm not the party type. I'm 100% focused on my education.

It’s just two years. You can find friends by actually going out to find them instead of waiting for them to come to you. In a few years, going to parties on the weekend will not even matter. The pros overcome the cons in the long run for your life.

I feel like you guys are missing the point. I mean it’s college work and none of the fun to balance it out. She can’t just work work work and work. We all know college isn’t JUST about ~working~ it’s about the experience too

i hate how people are trying to make you feel bad for wanting the full college experience. there's literally nothing wrong with wanting to make friends and have fun while getting a degree at the same time. please don't let these comments get you down :))

I went to to community college because I had no choice. I had no money and barely could pay for admission fees to even be thought about. I went to community college so I can use financial aide and actually get money back to save up. Ended up getting an associates degree, a really good job in my field and going back for a 2 year degree(that’s actually going to be a year because of my transfer credits) where I can actual get the college experience. During my community college experience I did join clubs and have lots of friends. It’s just all about how you handle this experience.

Community college is a much cheaper option. Be careful what loans you sign up for. A $25k college degree can cost you as much as $12 per hour. Your channel is growing last I checked. You go girl :)

You’re going to college to get an education to better yourself, not to party and get the “college experience”. That doesn’t even matter, I would much rather work hard to get my degree rather than party and drink every weekend. And skipping class is NOT good for you, girl. Please do not condone skipping classes, I think that’s the wrong message to send. Just work hard and it’ll pay off.

i love the CC i go to it was a much better option for me then going to a 4 year college right away. I am not that upset about the "college life" because I am not a party girl anyway, and before you know it after the 2 years of CC you will be in a university or where ever you choose to go, just look on the bright side :)

I’m in community college during a pandemic and I can tell you all that I have absolutely no friends since I started. Everything is shut down and most people do online classes so I have like 3 people in my classes. It’s hard sometimes but I’m glad it’s a cheaper way to get a good education.

I am introverted so i dont really care about making friends. I am in uni right now and i hate it here. People everywhere and its exhausting. Classes are way easier in college. Sometimes universities can be a little extra with the work load. I miss community college

I feel you 100%, especially on the point that sometimes it’s tough when you see your friends going to parties and bars while you’re at home studying on the weekends. If you ever come down to Miami, my squad is your squad 😂

Community college will leave you in a weird spot socially. Especially if you don’t want to retain any friendships from High school. Even if you do you’ll most likely fall apart with people from Highschool. I fell out of contact with essentially everyone in my High school except maybe 4 or 5 people, and we rarely hangout.

I remember community college and I agree with you. The lifestyle pretty much sucked! It was a big shift when I graduated and transferred to a four-year university.

I personally loved CC. Got my associate’s degree in highschool, 4.0, free tuition and didn’t pay for anything besides my textbooks. My CC was so invested in helping people graduate debt free that they now even have a program that helps any student do the same. Employers care way more about your work experience, grades, and overall competency than where you went to college.

Late to the party but, as someone who had the same struggle as a freshman I must say JEEZ, people who think you are only supposed to ‘study’ in college are hypocritical and narrow-minded (and sad tbh). Guys, do as much as possible: these are the years of uncertainty and you need to find your place in the world FOR REAL 🌺and making new memories/experiences is as much important.
