Community college in my experience is fantastic, you get to concentrate in really interesting specific topics at a decent pace. Down side of it is social life on campus nonexistent as most people attend class & leave for work/family. In the case of university social life is great but there is a lot more due dates for assignments which gets you more focused on rushing to get it done then actually learning.

I went to the university of Colorado and got a bachelors in environmental studies that turned out to be worthless because everyone wants a masters or doctorate. I went back to community college to be a cath lab tech and now I’m projecting to make $165,000 a year after taxes. There are very good community college programs that will cost you 10% of what you would pay at the university.

Community college has better teachers. At universities, professors are more interested in research than teaching.

After taking classes at both, it’s hit or miss. The teacher makes a huge difference. But given the cost of cc, the cost to value is just so much higher at a community college. Well I dunno about top schools like Stanford or Ivy League schools, maybe they have some superstar teachers there.

Ironically, sometimes big research institution professors are less talented at teaching than those with less distractions at smaller schools.

Going from HS to City College to Top Ivy was far better than trying to go directly .... It not only saved me time and money , but I enjoyed HS far more, and eased into my early adulthood , then I switched up gears to prepare myself to attend IVY

So, guess I'm doing my first bachelors in SMC after high school. So, will I be able to transfer to UCLA for master's or you say graduate programs. Because I'm an international student thinking of studying overseas.

There is a lot of hype with universities. When I transferred my university went to the orange bowl and won a national championship in basketball so it was like going to school at ESPN zone. It's actually kind of absurd. There are a lot of logistical issues because in Engineering there are a lot of group projects, and then they throw you off of campus if you are a transfer, and you're the last to pick classes even after the incoming freshman. The people are not smarter. I majored in engineering and probably a high school japanese kid is smarter than the average engineering student at a university. At the community college they had Air Force Academy professors for like math. And he said he gave the same exams it's just they had less time to do it and he would grade on a curve before while the grades were absolute with us. It's graduate students and Ph.d candidates that teach the freshman and sophomore classes at the large university. It's mostly hype especially for math and engineering. Michael Faraday taught himself. Einstein was working by himself at a patent office. Isaac Newton was working by himself. Dumb people actually do better at the large university than the community college. That's odd. It's because there is a lot of group stuff and they kind of know how to blend in. But it's mostly hype and flair. It's like going to college at the circus. The kids in the elective classes were really dumb. I took some electives like economics 101 and they were struggling. They couldn't figure out where the demand curve was shifting. I took art history and my roommate engineering student was struggling with that. They loved me. You just had to write about what you saw in the painting. like the guys eye's are looking down creating a depressed mood and creating a focal point and drawing the viewers attention to the women's feet or something like that. There is too much bullshit in universities now. It's all flair and hype. It's actually harder to focus and study at a university than a community college if you have a peaceful place to stay. the parking and everything logistical about a university sucks. In engineering you can end up in classes with only 15 people and 90% of the university is useless. They have a gym and pool but it's crowded when a private gym only costs 30 dollars a month. In college you end up sleeping with your group in a computer lab. If it was a community college you could have invited everyone to someone's house to work because the people are local. You're putting computer chairs together to sleep because no one has time to go home before the start of the next day. They're selling you bullcrap. they're selling facebook type bull. And they're trying to sign you up for credit cards at sports games. They make more money off of that than anything else.

I am a mathematics graduate who studied in Oregon who graduated 14 months ago. I started at a community college and then transferred to a small public university. Honestly, I personally did not feel like the academic standards were any lower at my community college than at my university. I felt like the difficulty of the coursework mainly depended on the class and who was teaching it, but overall, I don't feel like there was a significant difference in the difficulty of the coursework between the two. The university I went to was a small regional university, so there actually wasn't a significant difference in class sizes between the two. I understand it could be different at a larger university like UCLA. Overall, my experience was great, and I saved a lot of money by doing it the way I did.

I prefer community college 💯 because less of money University college cost too much in university college you doing 4 years it's kind of stressful you might like it now but once you get in that's it you can't go back two years is better than 4 years because in two years you should already have your degree and have an apartment and a girlfriend 💯 4 years you going to be there for the long of a ride because you got to do this and that and then you might say I give up but community college it's not far University college is far and plus you going to be moving away from your family and plus it's too much going on in the university colleges and then you got to be careful in universary college because they could take your money got to be on point with that 💯 so like community college it's better because once you 21 you could be out universary you in until like 25 to 26 universary they might ask you what careers are you going to like if a woman say she want to get in to ballet they can gag you say well it's 30 k out of your money oh no is 50k once you already doing it so you really got to be careful what you doing and community college is more smoother so yeah we on that💯
