I went the traditional route in the UK University further away and socially it was the best experience of my life had a big group of friends I hung out with everyday. I had to dropout because I wanted to change course so I thought i’d check the course out at community college before going back to Uni. It was a shock to the system that I still haven’t got over. Social experience in my opinion is non existent, I have a few friends/peers but we don’t have much in common, far apart in age and I don’t see them outside of lessons. I’m going to my local Uni in September and hoping it will be slightly better. Myself I am not super academic or I just never attempted to be but I come from a family that is highly educated my parents and grandparents i’m talking PhD from Cambridge educated. I don’t think i’m smarter than anyone in college I may have had more opportunity to do “better” in school than others I use to joke about being the stupid one but here that would probably offend someone. I have never felt so lost in life I haven’t met anyone in close range to my age in over a year.

Great vid, I related a lot to what you brought up about going to a community college its a diverse scene and there's something there for everyone. Going into a community college I was already independent, but I ended up meeting pretty cool people along the way that I ended up having the same interests as them. I've seen a couple of your videos now on transferring out to a 4 year, i transfer next fall and hopefully its to CSULB.. hope all is good with everyone

Jake As long as you have like a 3.0 and above they'll look at you, the thing is they are really picky when it comes to admissions especially for majors that are highly impacted and yours might be one of them. So it honestly depends. They have a great business college tho, which is why i applied. They really value transfer students, and it wouldn't hurt to apply.. (unless u have to pay the $40 app fee idk) if you do apply and plan on dorming at csulb, they have limited space so apply early unless you have somewhere set to live or plan on housing with a frat/sor.

Where I am from or at least my county, a lot of people go to community college at least from my school idk I think its because my school is the only one in the county which makes it the largest public school in my state. CC is not rlly look frowned upon compared to other counties in my area. So a lot of the students basically know each just because majority of the students are coming from my school which now I think about that might be a problem with my school lol and also my city is very tight community even though its highly populated, 300,000, everyone know each other in sum way. is that just my city or other people. I live in the DMV if u were asking

Did u regret not going to a 4 year university rather than community college? Because I’m planning to go to community to save money but I’m wondering if it’ll backfire or if I’ll regret it. All my friends are applying to universities and I’m the only one planning on going to community so I’m wondering if it’s the right way to go.

The “freshman” experience is really all you’ll be missing out on. That’s it. If you think that’s worth 20-40k a year for 2 years then yeah you’ll regret it. You get a degree from a four year uni after transferring just like all your friends, and you have an associates in that field as well so in reality, you have an advantage over them when looking for a job or internship.

@@crazykids195 If you sucked ass in HS and you are talking about a freshman experience at your low end CSU commuter school I definitely agree. Might as well save money if you gonna be miserable either way. But a freshman experience at a USC or UCLA? Priceless. AA degrees are worthless, no advantage.

Hey buddy. Community college students are real low social level and weird. Once time a student Daniel Han was super rude. And those international students are ridiculous. I even got contradiction with some professors.I think community college is not a place for friends but only GPA. However, when I transfer to a university, I got a lot of friends. Now I am in Pepperdine university master program. A lot of my community college school mates, I blocked them after I transfer to my bachelor school CSUCI. I don't care about those students in community college, just get GPA as 2.5 and get out there.

Jay dig if you want to know what major to pick start with this: think of the schools you’d like to transfer to (if you are at a cc) get a list of all the majors at that school(s). Then start crossing out shit you would never want to work as/ be in a million years. In reality you probably won’t end up with 1 choice left but you will narrow down your options. u can chill in highschool theirs no reason to put that much pressure on urself that young. yeah highschool friends can be temporary and so what if their temporary they will teach u sm as u grow. just have friends that won't lead u the wrong path mentally BUT FRIENDS COME AND GO even if ur in highschool , college, or 50 yr old. thats how friendship works
