+Hey Nadine I heard about The China study book. I just seen in few documentaries. Have you heard about it, have you read it? I m planning to buy this week... Also I can recommend guys the documentary called Vegucated. woow... same eye opening as Cowspiracy.

+Barbara Szabo The China Study is awesome no gimmicks just science proof of which way we should be eating to avoid the diseases that are killing us all off prematurely. Also like The Starch Solution by Dr John McDougall. Now I can eat vegan without feeling hungry. And losing my overweight.

+Hey Nadine Huge Respect!! A question, why don't you eat any eggs? There are laying hens, which are treated fairly. Another question: do you eat honey? In my opinion not eating honey is not smart, because all the good reasons you named to go vegan don't relate to bees. e.g. they are not bad for the environment, actually they're good.

2016 is going to be a huge year for veganism and i'm so glad you are helping spread the message!! also, do you transfer your compassion for animals to things other than food? such as wearing/using cruelty free/vegan clothes, makeup, etc.? eating plant based is AMAZING but it never hurts to take those extra steps if you haven't already! :)

I cried too when you mentioned your cat passing away, because I remembered when my cat got sick in March 2015, he had tumor in one of his kidney and the other was not functioning so, basically he was poisoning himself. So he was suffering so bad that my family decided to put him to sleep. I remember when I was at his last moments until I gave him to the vet, that feeling that I will never see him again was the worst feeling I felt so far, I still remember his eyes when he last time glanced at me. Eyes full of agony and fear. I miss him so much. And it will be almost a year, but I'm still feel that emptiness and sadness inside of me. Sorry for being so emotional. Btw, I'm vegetarian since 2010

I'm new to your channel and think you're absolutely awesome! To find out you're vegan is just a huge bonus :D I've been vegan for about a year and a half and can honestly say it's the best decision I've ever made. I used to be a huge meat eater, however, when I came to the realisation that, as you did, animals have the same range of emotions that we humans experience I couldn't go on and eat their flesh anymore. It changed from being it being "just meat" to dead bodies, flesh, muscle and tendons that are full of unspeakable suffering. Literally TRILLIONS of animals die per year because of the depth of humanities cruelty and our ego driven narcissism that says we are the top of the food chain. Bullshit! Just because I'm a human does not mean my life is worth more than another sentient being, whether they be in human or animal form. I believe we're moving towards a kinder more compassionate society. One day we as a species will stop this animal holocaust and will realise that underneath our body suits we all have the same spark of life within us ☮

Been vegan going on 3 years now and I am also lactose and tolerant, but It's been one of the best decisions ever, I love it, and when I travel it makes finding food sometimes challenging but also kinda fun!! I teared up so much when you were talking about the loss of your cat. I have had a rabbit for 7 years now and the thought of losing him, since our pets tend to have shorter lifespans than we do, crosses my mind quite often. To be able to create such bonds with animals is sure enough a great reason to make a lifestyle choice revolving around compassion for our fellow creatures of all species.

I honestly think when I go on these programs,I'll cry with joy since it's been my dream for as long as I can remember.I'm not really an emotional person, but when I accomplish my dream I'm gonna be balling my eyes out. Africa would be a far cry from Wythenshaw, Manchester.

I love the way how open you are in this video (actual tears in my eyes). I've just recently discoverd your channel and it really gives me hope that it is possible to travel as a vegan and not starve to dead. :p This is a great way of talking about veganism, lately I kinda start to hate talking about it, because of the denying and judging reactions I mostly get. (Maybe I'm doing it wrong.) I'm not judging anyone or doing anyone harm with my way of life. I think it's so brave to just talk about why YOU do this. I really enjoy watching your video's. You do a great job! Love it!! P.S. went vegan in september 2015 as well ^^ (thank you, Cowspiracy)

This is so similar to what happened to me! I was on and off veggie/demi-veggie/-pescatarian for years and switched back and forth a lot just because of convenience. When I started university I was self-catered and just wasn't buying animal products then after a couple months I learnt about the health benefits and environmental reasons so was plantbased with some slip-ups for a while. I eventually connected with the ethics when a baby chick I was looking after passed away and I was heartbroken and crying about it for a month or so afterwards. I grew up by a forest and rescuing, rehabilitating and releasing wild birds was a big part of my childhood and a lot of them do pass away just because of shock as they've usually been attacked by another animal or had an injury or fallen out of a nest or something but for some reason this time was different and I've been vegan ever since. Totally agree with the increase in compassion, I've always loved animals but never saw a problem with eating them too until I stopped doing it and could appreciate how hypocritical I'd been without getting defensive about the realisation.

Ive been vegetarian for 6 years and vegan for 3. Like you, travelling was hard. In some countries options are abundant but in others not so much. Its the same as anything though, you adapt and you do the best you can. None of us are perfect and we all slip up but thats because we live in a world that is conditioned to use animal products and sometimes its unavoidable. But if you have your own kitchen and your own groceries then its easy as pie once you get going. Its totally a journey and once on the path you'll never see things in the same way again. Thank you for sharing your thoughts :) really enjoyed this video.

I am a flexitarian, I eat vegetarian/vegan on the weekdays. I have considered going full vegetarian and even vegan and I think it's something I will do in the future when I have more control over my own food purchases. The one thing I will say is I no longer consume processed meats or bacon and since I've started watching what I eat and eating better I've felt better with more energy, I've slimmed down, my skin feels clearer and I feel healthy and I feel that's the most important. :)

Hi Nadine! Bit of a random question but what are your thoughts on freelee the banana girl (if you know who she is). I'm honestly put off the thought of veganism because of her and how she pressures and shames people in the public eye to become vegan and basically feeds off the fame of other youtubers. I genuinely enjoyed your video and glad I gave this topic another chance. I'm sorry for your loss but I'm so glad you shared the story, definitely considering slowly becoming vegan.

Honestly, never have given any thought at all about vegan ism or even being vegetarian until now. I really thing going vegetarian is in my future for some of the reasons you've explained. And trust me, it's the last thing I'd ever thought I'd do. I love meat and fish! Being Vegan is a different story but I understand why it was necessary for being lactose intolerant. Having two kids on their own diets is also going to be a challenge but I feel like I can get through it, at least for myself, for now. so, thank you, for your perspective and insight, I actually feel enlightened. Thank you. With luck I will be able to update you on my journey ☺

I committed to the vegan diet since October 2015 and interestingly my reasonings for why I went vegan and why I stayed vegan is quite the same as yours. Cowspiracy changed my viewpoint on the dire state of the environment and I felt guilty for contributing to the degradation. But I realise that I do feel more compassionate towards all animals as you mentioned. I now can't see meat without thinking about the possible torture they went through. And plus I don't know if it's just me but I feel no menstrual cramps ever since I adopt this plant-based diet!

Nadine, I've been a pescatarian for most of my life and have been trying to go vegan for years. At the beginning of this month, I decided it's time--I feel like shit all the time, I feel sad for the animals, and I claim to love the environment but I'm not doing the best I can to support it. It's gone pretty well. Eating out is definitely the hardest, and I've slipped up, too. But, in the past I would have fallen off the wagon so to speak because of one slip up and now I'm just more determined to let that pass and move on to making a good choice for me, the animals, and the environment the next time I put something in my mouth. I'm proud of you for sharing this video! XOXO

What a wonderful video you posted. You really poured yourself into this and I think that is fantastic. You've realized that animals have souls too and that is confirmed in the ancient Vedic scriptures such as the Bhagavad-gita. Honestly, I am mostly vegan, but sometimes have occasional dairy. I could easily go completely vegan if I wasn't lazy. I was in India for nine months this year. In India, it is very easy to be vegetarian and very difficult to be vegan, because it's all lacto-vegetarian. Thank you very much. Your videos on travel tips were very helpful for my travels in India. Namaste!

Hey Nadine :D I was wondering, don't you feel like you're missing out on a major part of the culture of the countries you visit because you're vegan? I mean, my idea of experiencing a culture includes eating local food, and most of the times it isn't vegan...I would love to hear your opinion (or anyone else's opinion) on that!

I had already been vegetarian because of my mom's religion 7 years before I watched Cowspiracy. I found it so shocking that animal products could harm the environment so much. I then watched pretty much every other vegan documentaries on Netflix, and I was so shocked and disgusted with how the meat industry treats animals, even just to produce milk and eggs. That was my turning point-even my dad and older sisters went fully vegetarian because of my dedication. I'm so glad I found out about this at such a young age :) 13, vegan, and never felt better!

I have been vegetarian for 9 months trying to vegan. But I know how you feel about the animals I started crying when you did. I'm so glad that you have decided to be a vegan and travel because that's what I would love to do. So please make more videos about it. Love ya girl

I like that you acknowledge that humans can digest both animal protein and plant foods. So many vegans ruin their credibility by claiming that we cannot digest meat. And you are right, we no longer need to eat animal protein in this day and age as we can get plenty of plant foods to sustain us. The only question is, though it may sustain us, will it provide OPTIMAL health? Many believe that animal protein is necessary, at least for some of us, to function most optimally, particularly in the case of athletes. I am not saying I believe this, but it begs the question that should somebody sacrifice their dreams, their destiny in order to not kill animals? Of course their is the environment. Firstly, we must ask: is widespread vegan ism the only option? Secondly, isn't overpopulation the real problem? Why should we suffer inferior health and athletic/mental performance (if that is the case) because 'the powers that be' are not doing something to keep reproduction rates under control?...
