My daughter insisted that I watch your video because I too am going though tough time being depressed as being a single dad with full custody of two kids. I am suffering from severe depression by seeing life passing me by and I can't do what you are now doing, seeing the world. I'm 50 (though people swear that I look 39, I don't know why they say 39 instead of 40?) and I have live over half my life span. Being a single dad is a thankless job, but I love my kids so much that they give me the reason to wake up every day and work 10 to 12 hours a day to support them and make them happy. I just wish that day will come when I get a chance to be happy, just like you. Nadine, you are a very lucky person at the perfect age to do what you are doing. My daughter thinks you're awesome, and I have a lot of respect for you for taking control of your life.

This video couldn't have come at a better time! I was at the top of class in high school and went to university for one year and decided I wanted to travel instead. I worked for one year (and went on two all-inclusive vacations with friends and family) and this Monday I'm going to Australia for 24 days (by myself) on a Contiki tour and staying in a hostel after. Emotions are running high right now between being scared and excited, but seeing how travelling has helped you and how it has helped me so far reassured me it's the right decision! Happy birthday!

You are going to have them most amazing time in Australia! Yes it is normal to be scared as you probably will be until after the 1 day of the trip. And then, I promise you, you will have the time of your life! Tip: say YES to everything you can and open yourself up to meeting new people, (Contiki makes it pretty easy ) xo

This was really inspiring. Seriously, the ending especially made me go, "yep, I NEED to change something in my life" because I've been stuck in a rut, depressed, anxious, I haven't had any direction for a few years, Ive been working jobs that I don't care about and quitting them because I feel miserable after a while...the one thing that does make my heart race with excitement and makes me feel joy is travelling, which I don't get to do much really, but I'm wanting to change that. Thank you for this video, and also for your channel. I'm seriously getting inspired to take action and change my life and get on a plane. I've always thought life is way too short to not see the world. It would be a waste to die without getting out of your comfort zone and experiencing different countries and their cultures.

Great video Nadine very inspirational! Travel is such an important part of our lift and it has inspired us to pack up home and move away from Australia to Canada to go out an experience life. Part of this decision is seeing people like you and vagabrothers, FunForLouis and other KZreadrs just going out there and doing it. Hope to one day meet you in our travels :)

Crazy funny videos. I remember supporting you at the Doritos VJ competition. I was really sad when you left youtube. But now I am happy to see that you continue sharing your amazing life! Have a great day!

Thank you. Thank you for doing this. I've watched countless "Draw My Life" videos and they all seem to be the same. "Crappy childhood, crappy home life, find KZread... profit." Yours seems more relate-able. All was well, find TehToob, shit goes astray, make a change... prosper. Very inspiring. I'm at a similar place myself. Things are stagnant and a change is needed. If I had youth on my side, I'd take bigger chances, but... I be old as dirt (well, not THAT old), but it's inspiring to see someone take a huge chance, and have it pay off. Congrats on all your success and all the best in your future travels.

I happened upon your channel a few weeks ago. I wanted to escape so I searched "packing tutorials" on KZread. At the time I'd just ended a toxic relationship and was and currently am going through post grad blues. I literally had no idea where to start as far as rebuilding and discovering what I wanted to do or be or live or anything....then I started watching your videos. Even just your packing tutorials gave me some sort of hope there's more out there for me. Then I saw this "Draw My Life" and you shared your story. It was almost word for word identical to mine. , It solidified I was going to be ok. I'm pursuing a teaching English abroad job now. Thank you for being so transparent and encouraging, Nadine. I so appreciate you! :)

Happy birthday ! When I saw you in a vlog from another youtuber, I remembered you from your older videos. Now I see what you've been up to : Travelling ! I can feel that you are happier ; it is apparent in your videos. Great job for finding a way in your life and being happy. For me, happiness is the prime objective in life and should always be an everlasting goal. I've started travelling in 2003, did a bunch of country and can't stop. The best part is when I check-in at montreal airport and go sit at my gates. I always go early. Every time seems like I'm starting a new life ; just like a dream. I'm so relaxed.... And when I get back, I feel so energized, and I'm storming my life around to find something new to do. hum.... anyway... happy birthday ! Please continu your path and create new one because it's so fun to see you Happy.

I've found, thanks to travel, that when dark times come all I have to do is plan to go overseas again and it helps. It gives me a reason to work towards my goal. This September, I'm going to Europe again with my best friend, and we're going to start blogging and vlogging like you. Yes you have to start somewhere. But so many people don't even start! I don't know why but I never would have thought our stories were so similar. The main similarity being that I was completely lost too but travel helped me get out of the rut I was in. I left home and travelled America & Canada for 2 months completely alone after I finished school in 2008 and it really was the beginning of me becoming who I am today. It totally changed my life. Hi Nadine! I'm new to your channel, but really excited to find it after this video. This morning, I went searching for female travel vloggers and when I saw your name I remembered you from some recent Louis videos! Our stories seem eerily similar--down to the straight A's and theatre in high school. Like you said, a lot of us do go through these same struggles. My life is at about 6:50 right now--past the worst of the nose dive, but living with my parents and pinching every possible penny for upcoming adventures. I traveled quite a bit while still in school, so I already know it's my cure. :) Anyhow, thanks for this video and for your whole message--it's the one I want to spend my life sharing too. Happiest of birthdays! I look forward to keeping up with you!

Happy Birthday Nadine and great video. Watching your videos back in 2010 (when you were in Jamaica with Charles and Alli) was part of what inspired me to start traveling. I haven't made it to New Zealand yet but it's still on the list :)

I love this vid, I can't thank you enough for sharing your experiences with us! I had severe depression and anxiety for about two years, now that I am a lot better I am picking up the pieces and dealing with the aftermath (extreme weight gain, loss of most of my 'friends', poor grades etc.). I have always wanted to travel and now at 22 it is finally happening, I've saved up the money and l am going to the Netherlands to study for a month and I am going to try to stay overseas for as long as possible. I am leaving the day after Christmas day and I can't wait! I am hoping it changes my life like it changed yours :).

Happy Birthday, Nadine! Thanks for making this. I too went through similar things as you. It's nice to know there are other people in this world that can relate. I hope you have a fantastic day! :)

Thanks for sharing your story! I've been in a small depressive state ever since I moved to another country but had to move back to my native country due to my dad's job, and ever since nothing's made me happy. I'm behind with college, I suffer from social anxiety, I live such a boring life with so many routines.. I wish I could nothing else but travelling. I haven't done much so far, but I plan to go to Europe next year, so hopefully it'll happen!

Hey Nadine! I totally understand that this wonderful video has been aimed towards young, vibrant youth ... However, I wanted to share with you that this video has inspired a late-thirties lost and uninspired gal. We have similar experiences. Booking my next adventure tomorrow. I might even start vlogging my experience. Thank you! Keep up the great work! Btw, I'm in BC too!

I am in the exact same situation right now. I'm living at home and working part-time to try to pay off student debt, so traveling isn't really an option. This video made it seem that much more appealing though. I'm happy you've been able to come out of your depression!
