Unfortunately I work 12 hour shifts overnight, 7pm till 7am. And I'm in bed from 9a - 3p. So I've learned to function on 4-5 hrs a day. It sucks, but it's what I have to do.

Im doing 10hr shifts 6 days a week 8:30pm to 7am I sleep hard and feel refreshed every day I wake up. New mattress n NyQuil zzzz works wonders. Not just that I've dumped a lot of stress in my life. Unnecessary drama I finally said fuk it n put myself first. Stress was my problem I didn't know it till I got rid of it. All my life I had a hard time going to sleep it was like I couldn't shut my mind off after I cut out the stress life got better.

Re the comment on inflammation- You say there is an "association" but which is cause and which is effect with 'labile' sleep patterns? How can it be changed - does reducing inflammation change the sleep pattern ? Or do more consistent patterns of sleep impact on having less inflammation?

Ok...!! She's just rmerely repeating stuff from a text book. Now...while there are a lot of moving parts here. What you need to do, it drop your CORTISOL. Because it's CORTISOL that wakes you up in the morning. And a good thing to do, unlike what she said. Is to do like exercise before bed....like a good power walk. As it will drop your blood glucose levels. As high blood glucose will wake you up to go pee! In addition...the power walk will to clear your mind...and drop your cortisol levels. In addition too...taking about 400 mg of magnesium before bed. Which not only will help to increase insulin sensitivity to reduce blood glucose...which helps make you skeepy/tired. But the magnesium also leaves the arterial wall muscles...to lower blood pressure....which relaxes you to fall asleep!!

Her talk gives good but generic advice that may or may not work for certain individuals. Exercise before bed keeps me up and magnesium does nothing for me, while these methods work for other people. So I would take note of the generic advice, consider my unique needs and have a set of customised strategies for myself…and if critical, consult a sleep specialist.
