Why girls shouldn't play hard to get

Комедия

Girls think that playing hard to get is the best way to go. But just think - if you go after what you want, you too could be riding the ginger of your dreams.
The next Mac Air winner will be announced on 9/13. All you have to do to enter is be subscribed. If you're already subbed, you're automatically entered!
I know a lot of girls who play hard to get, and I've never quite understood it. Why not go after the man of your dreams? Why not pursue what you want with no fear of rejection? Though it's scary, the rewards are LOVE. SO GO AFTER YO MAN.

I'd think that playing hard to get also promotes this idea that "No may not actually mean no." If you act disinterested or say you're not interested, a well-adjusted person will move on... Persistence on the matter after things have been made clear shows a lack of respect.

I don't know about that. There's thrill in the pursuit. If there's no struggle, there's no feeling of achievement. It's like playing with a cat. You can't give it the toy right away, you have to tease it a bit, yank it away. That's how you keep it interested. If you give the cat the toy right away it gets bored and leaves.

See.... if i ask you on a date and you refuse... what else am i supposed to do? I personally move on! Agreeing on a date doesn't mean you're automatically saying yes to sex a relationship or whatever it simply states that there's mutual interest and MAYBE things work out. During the dating phase playing a little bit of hard to get in the sense of challenging your partner is good but uber artificial try-harding isn't

Another problem with playing hard to get is that it drives away people kind and understanding enough to take signs of disinterest as a reason to move on and not be a pain. It also makes that trait less common leading to more people continuing to bother those who are not interested under the impression that the annoyed individual is playing hard to get.

I met a guy I really liked. We were friends for a while and I decided to just ask him out, be honest about being into him. He turned me down. I said that was cool and we went back to being friends and everything was fine. UNTIL I met someone else and started dating him. Then suddenly this friend of mine was into me. I'd asked him out too soon, he wasn't ready for a relationship at the time, blah blah blah. Somehow I ended up being the one who hurt him all because I was upfront and honest. Over a year later I'm still vaguely friends with him (there wasn't a lot of drama, just many unsaid words that can make hanging out a little awkward) and still in my relationship. Don't waste time playing games.

finally, I always feel conscious about being honest about my feelings. People around me always say stuffs like "you're a girl, you shouldn't confess to a guy" or "you are ruining your image as a female if you make an effort to a guy" and especially the "You shouldn't take it seriously. You're a female, you should play hard to get with the boys" And honestly... it's getting really annoying. Boys can't just do everything for you. Boy can't be the only one chasing the girls. Boys can't be the only one saying sorry all the time. And boys can't be the only one giving gifts to girls. Just think about it. Unfair, right? Well there are guys who don't like straight or direct gals cause to them, it ruins their ego as a male While other guys(especially the shy ones) are attracted to direct girls or if not, gets more motivated and falls for the girl more since they know they now have a high chance to be with the girl and wouldn't be so tired to the girl because she isn't hard to get. I used to have an MU (MU means mutual understanding. definition of two people knows they like each other but not in a relationship) I told him I wasn't allowed to have a boyfriend yet since my dad doesn't want to. He wants me to finish my studies 1st. 2 months have passed and I have grown tired of being in an MU relationship with him because we acted as if we are already in an actual relationship. I stopped playing hard to get, broke my dad's rules.. My old MU became my BF after that. (。・ω・。) just thought of sharing how I feel

Inviting somebody to dinner is not really saying you "want" them, it doesn't have to imply anything that extreme, only the bare minimum to indicate a desire to date / romantic interest for now, pending successful dating. Maybe thinking about it that way makes it a bit easier? I don't know, I'm so jaded at this point with initial asks that I don't really remember what it was like to be super nervous about it, so might not be helpful.

Anyhow, my own theory on that situation is quite a bit different than yours. I remember that a while back, Anna uploaded this video titled "things I wish I knew in high school", she later on deleted it at some point, but anyhow, on that video, she was visibly upset, and said something like "you're gonna fuck tons of people in your life" and I just couldn't figure out where that was coming from at that point in time, but shortly afterward, it became public knowledge that she and Ray broke up. So personally, I think he cheated on her.

I only just found her through the too many cats song because someone shared it in the 'memes' section of a Discord server I'm in. Totally agree. Dishonesty is a bad way to start any relationship and it certainly wont maintain one. Why lie about who your are and what you want, just to win over someone who isn't compatible with you? And why give the cold shoulder to someone you like, when it might make them give up on you? Just be yourself and if it doesn't work out, then there was no chemistry and you're better off without them.

I love when girls are direct. Its refreshing. I was once asked out by two girls at the same time on the subway. My mouth droped! I was interrupted by an emergency before I could take advantage of the oportunity. I was in that city temporarly and that kind of stuff happens to guys more often there than anywhere else in the country, to my knowledge. ( It was in Porto, in Portugal. I'm portuguese)I am currently saving money to move there. Women there are like from another country! Bolder, braver, warmer and more open and giving than women from where I live, plus its a bigger city, with more oportunities for my career goals.

Thank you for the compliment, I guess? LOL! I don't believe in playing hard to get. I always knew what I wanted and what I didn't want. Most of the guys were not what I wanted. I didn't play games, I just simply didn't even give them a shot. When the man I did want appeared in my life, I let him know I wanted him in my life and wanted to be part of his. He is my husband now and I love him more and more everyday :3

Maybe you think they're uncommon because a lot of women have rejected you? I'm sure most women would go on a date if they were asked by a person that they're attracted to.

The problem of waiting too long is that it can make the person feels being ignored and worse, will going to find someone else instead. But I understand why girls do that. They just want to make sure how serious the guy about his feelings and intentions.

I do the same thing, when I like someone I just tell them "I like you" it's so simple, if they say no it sucks I cry blablabla but I rather that than not saying them what I feel. Or when a guy comes to me and start getting flirty I look at them and say "I have a boyfriend you know, just to be clear" haha, being direct is awkward for the other person sometimes but is the best

I have to say THANK YOU!!! I can't stand girls who play all these games and keep making me claw after them. Usually if it happens I just drop them. I shouldn't have to work or jump through extra hoops (Made by a potential future spouse) to date them. It's silly and just drives me away to think I'm undesired. But that is my simple view point.
