I think the taking "it slow aspect" is portrayed a little bit more realistically in Kdramas compared to western romance films. In Kdramas usually (not always) the main couple start kissing in the later episodes in a season and normally don't even intimately touch in the first few episodes.

During one time during lunch, in my current time in grade 10, I was just sitting there with some friends in the cafeteria when we smell weed. Then I get up to ask my other friend if she could also smell it and she tells me she could and she also tells me she was walking around the school and when she was going downstairs to the cafeteria and saw a couple, on the stairs. She found the source of the weed. She also found something else. The principal and some staff in the office, and the rest in the cafeteria, and a thing going down on the stairs with a boy and a girl. The couple was probably from whitney pier. At least the boy mostly. Welcome to cape breton. Just fuck on the school stairs and no one gives a shit. Staff will never find you and theyll even let you let then smell of weed travel through the whole school. This did happen in like december so it happened in the grade im still in.

I skipped classes a lot to see my boyfriend because I wouldn't learn anything in those classes. And it is highly possible for teenagers to skip classes, it's not like someone will punish you for that, you only get an absence, and then you can ask a classmate to give you the lesson you missed.
