Why Gin & Tonic Is Glowing

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

If you order a Gin & Tonic at the nightclub with UV lights You will notice that it's glowing.
Well, Gin is not glowing but the tonic water does. It contains a chemical called quinine that Comes from the bark of the Cinchona tree.
Quinine is sensitive to UV light
So when you hit it with blacklight quinine is in the Gin and Tonic, so it glows with a pretty bright blue color.

    My dad actually works for Buchler which is a one of five world wide companies that produce quinine for the treatment of malaria and for the Tonic water. So we always have to have Fever Tree tonic water at home or in restaurants in case it does not contain quinine.

  • @mahmutcankaya3321
    @mahmutcankaya33212 жыл бұрын

    Fun fact: tonic was populatised because the people who dramı it were protected from malaria. Eventually, almost all malaria causing agents became resistant to quanine because of antibiotic reaistance. But since there are other drugs now, quanine is mostly manufactured for tonics.

Idk why, but that's the vibe I always get, and I've never had alcohol lol.
