very cool effect! gives me some ideas of my own. i'm sure this would also work well with luminol and organic dyes to make a wide variety of colors. oh BTW, it's not tert-butyl alcohol that makes a glow stick glow. it's more likely to be CPPO or TCPO in there that's reacting with hydrogen peroxide to give off light

It would be cool to see it upscaled greatly and use this same concept and just use it in a much larger water fountain! But I know that would be pretty hard to do not to mention the cost involved in something like that. See if you can paint with this luminescent fluid and create a glowing painting! Also see if you can make it flammable and put it into a flamethrower or something and light it up!

If you mean glow, it's pretty hard. Compounds lose their glow because they got it from a chemical reaction. Tritium lumination is gaseous, so no. But there could be a way, in a fountain. If you use a bioluminescent algae that is 'activated' by movement it would work, but they die quickly. It is also not very bright.

Sure you can try it for yourself if you do this. Just put a black ligh over it and it will glow wile the light hits it. There is a harder way to do it and it is to install tiny black lights in the fountain. Im not sure if that kind of ligh is available.

How long does the glow last? Like, if I wanted to do this for a party, how long would it run, would I be able to just set it up in advance and start the pump as the first guests arrive? Or would I have to clean the thing out and refresh both fluids one or more times during the party? Also, it looks like a mana potion, not a health potion. Health potions are usually red, while mana potions are generally blue.

I've seen some suggestions in the comments talking about replacing the light at the bottom of the fountain with a black light for indefinite glowing. You could try doing that, especially if he comes out with a video doing exactly that. It might not be a realistic idea, but if you did that you wouldn't have to worry about refreshing either of the fluids. It would just glow until the light burned out.

You would be right. Except that the process is not just dependent on the activator fluid, fluorescent dyes actually "burn out" over time. At least all the ones I've come into contact with at work. It is possible that someone has come up with a formulation that has a very long lifespan but I personally have no knowledge of such a compound. For example, if you use one of those really bright fluorescent yellow markers on a piece of paper and then leave that in the sun, just the passive UV light that is part of sunlight will burn out the fluorescent component of the dye in a week or so, making it look dull. The same thing happens if you leave a slide dyed with a fluorescent compound in an UV microscope, except it happens in less than an hour...

They could've replaced that led with a blacklight led and replaced the water with tonic water and we would've seen some cool results
