Why France and Turkey are Feuding over Africa

Despite both being in NATO, France and Turkey don't really get on. In just the last few years, the relationship has soured due to Syria, Libya and the disputes in the Eastern Mediterranean. With the tensions escalating in 2020, a bit of improvement a year later, is France really becoming Turkey's enemy?

But nothing change at the end ;) a 1000 maybe people will find some jobs with those industry created by China (but if you look it up a bit more, you would know that China , brings Chinese to manage and work in their Chinese industry in Africa) One of the reason why some africans are open their eyes compare to France that Hire on premise compare to China that do not hire on premise.

Let me answer the questions of why America and England, which allowed France to exploit Africa until now, gave up on this and what is the reason for the terrorist incidents in France. America, which made Europe its slave and colony after the Second World War, now continues this with the fear of Russia that it instilled in all of Europe. Macron's aim is to save Europe from the hands of America. Will America allow this? Isn't the answer obvious? I think everyone who reads this comment will understand why France was expelled from Africa and the reason for the terrorist incidents in France is the result of Macron's aim to establish a European army independent of America and NATO. But the stupid French people think that this is because of the reaction to Turkiye's operations against terrorist organizations in Iraq and Syria. The people of France are unaware of who they brought to power and what the purpose of the person they brought to power is.

The ages and sex of people killed (men of fighting age) were a clear indicator that the Libyan military was acting in a proportional manner. - The Libyan government had already quelled most of the uprising with no civilian casualties and 300 rebels dead. - Russia never supported the actions in Libya, they abstained at the UNSC. - France and UK did not do more than what was agreed, they violated the UNSC resolution that created a no-fly zone instead opted to enact regime change. Gaddafi was killed in his home town of Sirte 1000 km away from Benghazi where the civilians NATO said needed protection were. Sirte is where most the loyal Gaddafi citizens were based and were never under any threat. - I urge you to read the UK commons report on the Libyan intervention and the Amnesty International Report on Libya. In the video, it is claimed that the relationship between France and Turkey started detoriating starging from 2010. But the relationship has been always bad. And it is mainly because of French statesmen's hostile attitude towards Turks and Muslims. Let me quote from David Cameron and Bill Clinton: David Cameron, For The Record page 150: "The discussion I remember best from that G8 is actually a minor bust-up I caused, which had the side effect of reminding the Americans that we were their closest allies. I mentioned that part of the answer to all the things we had been talking about-the Middle East peace process, Iran, Iraq, Afghanistan- was a stronger relationship with Turkey, and harnessing its support as an EU ally as well as a NATO ally. Turkey. It sent Sarkozy off. Merkel backed Sarkozy, I think because she felt she had to. Obama backed me." Bill Clinton, My Life page 511: "French president Francois Mitterand made clear to me that, although he had sent five thousand French troops to Bosnia as part of a UN humanitarian force to deliver aid and contain the violence, he was more sympathetic to the Serbs than I was, and less willing to see a Muslim-led unified Bosnia."

Actually It's quite easy to understand why Turkish influence in Africa is increasing while opposite is happening for France and other Europeans. Unfortunately history is telling us concrete reasons why African people are legitimatly 'allergic' for West. For decades they have colonized Africa, allocated puppet administrations seized natural resources look down one's nose at African people. As a result except some elites people are still living under very harsh conditions. Despite its huge potential economies are still fragile and no stabilty at all. A couple years ago Erdoğan and Turkiye declared 'Year of Africa' and started a new approach to the continent. There are two major aspects according to my reading. 1st ; number of Turkish embassy and consulates have significantly increased. 2nd leverage is Turkish Airlines presence. If I am not wrong Turkish Airlines fly 42 countries at the continent. I would confortably say in Africa France repsesents past, with no good memories at all however powers like Turkiye, China they are future. People has sympathy, they believe strongly a mutual partnership is coming. Economic volume between Turkiye - Africa is growing everyday. This is a good approach and win-win relationship. We love our friends and hope Africa will rise.

A huge portion of Africa love Erdogan, I don’t think anyone in Africa likes macron. Macron was concerned France would loose it’s grip on stealing the African minerals so he threatened to invade Niger and other African countries. Still thinks those French speaking countries are colonised by France. Needless to say the whole of North Africa plus some Central African countries genuinely love Erdogan, many others are indifferent about him but they sure hell would want France to control their resources, less than 200 years ago France invaded Algeria and murdered 1.7 million Algerians before they were kicked out like rats by Algerians.

From where you get these numbers In the 21st century the biggest trading partner with Africa is china not Europe And to say that is to say like. All the Africa was colonized by France no it was colonised by many European country oh really France is the only one that bad or smart enough to exploit them You are not making any sense Turkey or the Othman empire had colonies in Africa way before any europeon nation and for a longer time why they are not as french or developed ?

It is very difficult to have a conversation with ignorant people, 450 billion alone is half of America's annual military expense. You better increase your knowledge instead of remaining ignorant.

1884, when the Europeans got together under Otto Van Bismack to divide up Africa into smaller territories for their own selfish purposes. That division is the main reason Africa fell behind to this day. Too many African countries but if you go there they are all the same peoples. A United Africa is not something some people want.

Shouldn't a news organization use the updated -"Turkïye"- "Türkiye"? I get people on social media not feeling like long pressing the "u" key or people on desktops not having easy access to the "ü" symbol, but a news organization should probably put in the elbow grease. Edit: It's Türkiye

there is no " ï " letter in turkish, if it were to be turkish, it would be "Türkiye". Not Tirkiye or Turkïye or wtf. And additionally, Türkiye is the noun and Turkish is the denomination of the people, those two shouldn't be mixed for any use like "Türkiye Government". It is either Turkish Government or Government of Türkiye, not anything else. Nevertheless, I think all of those are confusing, everyone should just continue their way with "Turkey". As all of us know "Türkiye" is also italian-latin originated so does it really matter Türkiye or Turkey?
