Turkey and Sonalia are an old partners. Literally all the Muslim countries respect Somalia for it is one of the first Muslims in the history of Muslims and are 100% Muslims. Turkey has been incredible for Somalia, I can't stress how important her presence has been in the last decade, all while our neighboring countries (our so called 'african' brothers and sisters) are trying to or have tried to annex parts of the country for 'their national interest'. Somaliland is more deserving of a recognition and has a viable legal path to it, because it existed as a separate country when it gained independence in 1960 before Somalia became independent.

Turkey is a friend of both Ethiopia and Somalia. Turkey will play constructive roles rather than attacking or defending any one of these two countries. The agreement between Somalia and Turkey as well as between Ethiopia and Somaliland will strengthen the security of the Horn of Africa.

Brother, if you reject Somalia that's fine, but the other clans in Somaliland dont want a state that doesn't represent them. Las anod fought for their freedom last year form Somaliland. 150 000 got displaced while their was a famine, how many of them died? Why does Somaliland champion self-determination, while trying to exercise military control over people that dont want anything to do with your separatist movement. And they are seling Awdal's land to Ethiopia. Hypocrisy 101. So one region in the east they massacred and another one in the west they sold of, and they both happen to be of a different clan then who is in the Somaliland government. Why would anyone trust that leadership?

Notably, these include Somalia, Poland, and, perhaps surprisingly to some, Israel (or the Jewish people more broadly). Each of these relationships is rooted in a unique historical context and has played a significant role in Turkish foreign affairs.

Piracy in somalia has recently started coming back with navies focusing more on Yemen and therefore less on Somalia. This may be about the somaliland port deal, but the concern about piracy is very real as well.

Somalia is signing a military pact with Egypt in the next few weeks! Egypt will arm and train Somali forces and open bases in Somalia as an interim , while Turkey guards the sea until Somali navy takes over. Somalia has more than 115 billion barrels of oil 🛢️ offshore excluding onshore which has vast oil too . Thats more than the UAE or Kuwait. It has plenty of gas too . It has lots of gold , diamonds , uranium and other rare minerals. It has Africa largest livestock reserves and fish stock. It has over 3333km coastline with pristine white sand beaches and is strategically located . It has more deep sea ports than any African or middle Eastern country. Somalia is rebuilding from a long civil war and returning to its rightful place that Ethiopia wants to spoil. Ethiopia is diplomatically isolated not even China or Russia supported their annexation plans! The US EU UK China Turkey Arab League OIC AU all stood with Somalia on this and called for Somali territorial sovereignty to be respected by Ethiopia! I have never seen East and West united on one issue so much.

Ethiopia is reaping what the TPLF sowed. After Eritrea’s independence in 1991 Ethiopia was using Eritrean ports of Massawa and Assab until May 1998. This is when the TPLF regime abandoned the Eritrean ports to declare war on Eritrea over border dispute pretext but the real reason was to carry out a regime change in Eritrea as instructed by the US. Ethiopia also invaded Somalia in 2006 destroying the little hope of peace the country had under Islamic Courts. It was this invasion and subsequent occupation of Somalia and the indiscriminate killings of innocent people by the TPLF regime and their partners in crime the US that radicalised the youth to create Alshabab terrorists. This time once again the regime in Ethiopia is working to destabilise Somalia has they did in 2006. This time the regime in Ethiopia is instructed by the UAE and we all know who controls UAE. Try to give in-depth and comprehensive presentation next time.

Ethiopia is slowly isolating itself from the whole neighborhood. Abiy, lacks foresight and proper judgement but his biggest flaw is the lack of strategic patience. - He refused to negotiate a water sharing deal with Egypt over the Blue Nile waters after Egypt had withdrawn all objections to the construction of the GERD dam. - He made a peace deal with Eritrea but continued to hold onto territory awarded to Eritrea by the ICJ. - He caused a war in Tigray (Northern Ethiopia) but cancelling the results of an election because of Covid. Notwithstanding the fact that another or a delayed election would have yielded the same results. - He caused a war in Amhara (North and Central Ethiopia) by rapidly disbanding regional police forces which were protecting the Amhara community. Instead of creating a new security force 1st. - As a result Ethiopia has the highest number of Internally Displaced People (not Ukraine or Gaza) in the world, ethnic communities have evicted "foreigners" from local lands and Eritrean troops have refused to leave Ethiopia. - He then needlessly provoked Eritrea and now Somalia by declaring that Ethiopia must have access to the sea by any means possible including the use of the military. - All in all Ethiopia would have obtained access to the sea by negotiations with Djibouti (who have leased port access to 7 countries), or by negotiations with the federal government of Somalia who would have granted him access on the same terms as the Somaliland deal without having to recognize Somaliland independence. He still had the options of Sudan and Kenya which he barely explored.

Read the history of Somalia-Ethiopia wars, the last one was in 2006. Somalia wants Turkey to know 1- Ethiopia's friends behind the scenes to join the war 2 and to get air defense...then Somalis and Ethiopians know each other. Ethiopian prime minister is talking for two months which is not good, make your decision or don't do it in the first place!

Somaliland army was destroyed by SSC forces last year and half of northern Somalia is controlled by khatumo state and its SSC forces.

I started laughing when I heard that the coastal nation of Somalia doesn't have a navy. Even Hungary has a navy, and it has zero land by the sea. It really is a land of rocks, sticks and sand. The people are truly living in the Middle Ages at best, when it comes to modernity and progress.

Read up on Somali history. For most of our existence since the after the Romans we've been a sea faring people. It's just today in our modern history we've let our ancestors down. It's ridiculous to think Somalis don't know the sea. Remember it was our king who met Mongol invaders and stopped them, if it wasn't for Somalis Africa might be Mongolian.

Heres something you may find interesting. :) The name of my country has nothing to do with the interesting and delicious bird ''turkey''...... .....but the name of the bird does have a connection with the name of my country, let me explain. :) Name of my country has always been Türkiye, it's been known as such since around the 1200's. The name it self has a suffix, '' -iye '', that is Turk-iye, where the -iye suffix means 'land of/belonging to', just like the Latin suffix of '' -ia '', which exists in such country names like Austr-ia, Austral-ia, Latv-ia, Roman-ia etc etc again meaning 'land of/belonging to'. Many would remember the country Czechoslovak-ia which changed it's name to Czech Republic and a few years ago changed that to Czechia (that is Czech-ia). The Latin suffix -ia probably originates from Turkish -iye as Turkish is much older, ancient Turkish been over ten thousand years old. Spelled in different languages in different ways to phonetically resemble (to sound like) '' Türkiye '' we got various spellings like; Turquía (in Spanish), Turchia (in Italian), Turquie (in French) Turkei (in Germn) and Turkey (in English) all trying to resemble the pronounciation of ''Turk-ia'' thus Turkiye. Mind you this was way before the animal we currently know as 'turkey'' was found by the europeans when they explored the north americas. The bird was first sent to europe from north americas in the year 1519, so up until that point there was no bird named 'turkey'.... ...they came across the bird and thought it was a specie of the fowl/chicken they had been buying from the country of Turkiye at the time, so they named the bird ''Turkey Fowl'' meaning ''Turkish Chicken''..... ....just like how a dog breed is known as German Shepherd (because it's from Germany), American Bulldog, British Terrier, Greek Harehound etc etc. In time you don't get to call the Greek Harehound as simply as ''Greek''; or you don't call the British Terrier as ''British''; or the German Shepherd as ''German'', but in time the Turkish Fowl started to be called just ''Turkey'' and later ''turkey'', and has been going on for hundreds of years. Now in modern times, this is causing confusion, especially when we have people across the world unable to point to their own country on the map, this ''confusion over the naming'' needed to be corrected. So my country decided to rectify this confusion that has been going on for so long and corrected the name to Türkiye, which it always was. Basically we didn't change the name of our country, we changed the mistake made in the English language. : ) So, there's some tid bit information for you to have a great day, if you read upto this point you have a great night too, ohh just have a wonderfull life. : ) Best wishes. ;)
